Awesome vid !!! the F-14 was the best interceptor out there and could do a lot more than any other interceptor in its class and was very agile for its size.
@f39eagle2 It was more than an interceptor, it was foremost an air superiority fighter that was designed from the outset for dogfighting. Misinformed authors of books published in the UK have a habit of classifying it an interceptor. It may be large, but never judge a book by its cover.

@okisoba Agreed..when i say interceptor,i meant as a fleet defense interceptor,that was one of its roles among many..air superiority & strike fighter roles were also performed well by Tomcat...it had the long range Phoenix missile system and also it was as agile as the T-38 and could dogfight with the best.
@BRIANROX1 lol than WE should had something like MiG 29 or MiG31 instead of MiG19 and 21 flying in Vietnam )
P.S. F-14 one of the most beautiful fighters in the world and it is a pity to me that americans have removed it from arms. I think this plane still hava a potential to remain on service
@R398 I agree about it being taken out of service. It did still have potential because of the latest model, the F-14D Super Tomcat. But I think the reason it's gone is because of a couple of things. 1 it's swing wing design is difficult to maintain while at sea. If it was an airforce plane it would a different story. And 2 the Super Hornet. Just like the Hornet will be replaced by the F-35

Damn the F/A-18 is a great jet but in my heart flying the Tomcat was the best thing that could ever happen to a human being! Miss those days!
