ok lets face it guys, this is a new generation..being a kid of the late 80s, early 90s i too remember seeing this game in the arcade, and playing it and enjoying it but the fact is this is life, stuff changes, while yes i would love to play the original all day long and have that on xbox live but you have to understand it fromt he developers point of view, they have to keep up with the times, its nice that its back but they felt they needed to update for this generation its as simple as that

This game is cool when it was in the arcade. Sadly when they ported it over to the xbox they ruined the music by changing all of the sound tracks. The original sound track was awesome, they should've left it the way it was.

Like (mostly) everyone making a comment, I too played this game as a child for hours on end. Surprised to see it on the LIVE market I DL'd it. While the updated HD graphics were a nice touch, it just didn't feel right for me. What I miss and loved about the original were two major things I immediately recognized when playing the demo. The faces aren't cartoony any more! Where's the emotion where are the bulgy eyes when I get hit? Secondly, they took out the orig. music score.

3 things this game needs and fails to accomplish.

1. The lighting is worse than the original arcade, this was not easy on my eyes. If your a person that gets headaches easily from electronics, stay far away from this.

2. Team Combos anyone? Power-Ups? or just plain More Combos?! I bet Raph would be easier to play as with these.

3. Ok this is just my opinion. This game is hard to play with four players, 'cause some of the levels feel crowded. Which just adds to reason 1. Eye murderers.

Okay, in some ways I agree with you and in others I completely disagree. The one thing I will say is that the game is easy on the eye's but it seem's that Ubisoft was more concerned with eye candy than the meat and potatos which is the gameplay. I found the controlls to be stiff and the remixed music really took me away from the experience. If it's not broke don't fix it. However with that said, I still found the game to be fun and I did feel quite nostalgic playing this version.

Don't pay for this.. just emulate the sprite-based TRUE arcade version with MAME on your pc for 0 Microsoft points. Now' a good time to get into emulation so you don't have to pay for this stuff on XBL arcade... some stuff is just not worth it.

Great review of the game. We did one ourselves when it came out, and it was interesting hearing what another reviewer had to say. We basically touched on the same points. It's a pretty lackluster game unfortunatly.

I disagree with you all. I think it's a good game. Anyway, this is a remake of an old school classic arcade and Super Nintendo game. What did you expect? Did you really think the game was gonna be diffferent from the classic one? I mean, come on! Well, I do have to say this wasn't exactly the best review you ever did. I mean sure, the things you said about the gameplay are mostly matters of opinion and I can totally look past that, but it's a completely other thing to say that the only thing you basically have to do is mash buttons, even against bosses, when it's pretty obvious that none of the players in that co-op session you filmed actually new how to go about beating the bosses or go past the traps.

I totally agree, I bought this just hoping for something good. I mean I have the re-release of the original Turtles arcade game and that's still really fun..for some reason this one just feels really boring. The only thing I don't agree with is the graphics. I think this game just looks plain bad. It looks like something the Iphone could probably handle without much downgrading at all. The 360 can do much more and much better.

Yep, you nailed it on the head. That's exactly why I don't give number ratings at the end of my review, because they don't mean jack. In my reviews, I simply tell you what I liked or didn't like about the game. I leave it to the viewer to make their own educated decision as to whether or not to play the game based on what I give them. So you've got it right. To each their own :-) I didn't like it because Raphael sucked. But that may be the reason why you DO like it :-)

I agree, i was greatly disappointed with this game. I was looking forward to it for months. I would have preferred a direct port from the old snes game. I know that wasn't possible but this doesn't compare to that one. To be fair though, i never played the arcade version though.
