  • Heard and met this fellow at Cain's in Tulsa. Be well on the other side.

  • Don was simply one of the greatest country music stars on the planet, and he epitomised everything that real country music stood for. Add to that the fact that he was a great Christian gentleman from the great state of Texas, then fans of country music could ask for nothing more in an artist. I'm a fan from the great south land down under & a long way from Texas, but there are many of us here who know what real country music is & where it comes from. Thanks Don for what you've left us with.

  • You music is awesome i love it reminds me of my Daddy and the yodeling and steel guitar and harp and dobro i miss him but your music puts him right back here in my living room and always in my heart my favorite is Ill hold you in mr heart love from Tennesee

  • Thank God for the Texas Country movement. Nashville today would never release anything like this because they are more into pop. At least with Texas Music you know the kind of dancing you can do with each song!!!

  • love the steel

  • God bless. Don was a nice Christian Gentlemen.

  • @Brucev7 LOL no he was Jewish.

  • @TheMrClamberto Really? ) At least the same God, Jehovah.

  • @Brucev7 Gentleman

  • I saw Don perform live at the Sons or Hermann Hall in Dallas in the 1990s. He gave an absolutely wonderful show. I was very happy to find these videos on YouTube. Thanks for posting them.

  • greetings from New Hampshire! Though we have very little of this wonderful music here in the hills & mountains of the Granite State, Don's soul is purely one with all his fans hereabouts. God love him!

  • Damn that almost made me cry......long live Texas swing!

  • I couldn't wait to get home to order Don's album after hearing him for the first time in the movie Second Hand Lions. Love this old timer. Wish we had more like him.

  • Chills! Had the honor of seeing your dad at the first Austin Hot Sauce Festival in 96-97 or so, still have a copy of "Texas Souvenir", country music does not get any better than that. Can't help but smile watching this, Don was the best ever!

  • Don Walser - one of the reasons I ve been + 20 times or so in Austin Texas. He may be gone, but not forgotton and his spirit is all over Austin. What a friendly person he was - never forget. And a great TALENT!

  • We love the guy - Hope to see him in eternity

  • When your daddy smiles, his whole face lights up. Such a genuine smile old Don had. Sure do miss him.

  • Hey Al,

you're father is a great influence to me.

I'm from Germany and his music was so brilliant, finally someone who doesn't bended knees to the commercial junk. He did what he thought to be right, and it was. I taught myself to yodel listening to his rendition of Chime Bells, Casting my Lasso and of course the Rolling Stone from Texas. I shed a tears when I found out that he passed away. God bless you and your family.
