Oh c'mon Mystyprix get your head out of the NY Times & lets stay on topic shall we?? Admit that this "off his meds bully" set out on a quest to harass New Yorks Finest. That was his real goal. He approached the group of NYPD officers with the intent to incite a violent confrontation with these fine men and women. All to be caught on video and then within minutes, rushed over to the Snooze Media to be played in an endless loop for 72 hours. I mean the video is clear but I want you to admit it.
@reveilledallas It's always a possibility. I haven't seen anything to prove he is who he says he is. Identity unconfirmed. Until then I consider him an "unknown" aggressor.
@armalite46 He acted like a complete bully to these officers. His actions were uncalled for. You make a good point. It looked as if he was trying to instigate conflict for the camera. The NYPD officers showed remarkable restraint towards an UNKNOWN individual who was behaving like a severely mentally unstable man.
Dont understand why Sgt. Shamar Thomas walked up to the group of NYPD officers and started yelling, harassing and taunting them. What did that group of officers due to warrant such treatment. Sgt. Thomas is seen in the video walking, saying goodnight to passersby, showing off his Marine fatigues and having a laugh as he approached the group of officers who were not seen doing anything to warrant such extreme behavior. I'm sorry but I am not in agreement with how Sgt. Thomas behaved that night.
He's referring to many previous incidents, not something that had just happened. And probably also referring to stuff in other cities as well. Was it totally right that he should take it out on just those particular cops right there? Probably not, but it was good that it was said and good it got caught on video.
@Mystylplx It was wrong for Sgt. Thomas to take out his agression at this group of NYPD officers. There is no excuse for how he behaved. None whatsoever. Referring to previous incidents? Incidents in other cities? Fine then you can video blog your gripe without picking on this group of officers who are doing their job to keep law and order. Something that many of the Occupy crowd seem to thumb their noses at. These fine officers didnt know Sgt. Thomas from a hole in the wall. He acted unstable.
@Mystylplx LoL!!! :-( All he did is yell and speak his mind. :-( LoL!!! Oh yeah that was the right way to express himself. Uh huh. Please Mystyprix, tricks are for kids. The bully acted like a mental patient intent on looking for trouble. That's why the vid cam was rolling in the first place. Right Mystyprix?? Good work. Look at him. This cop hating bully was off his meds. Yeah your trouble maker friend there was real brave with all the cams rolling.
Wow. Talk about hyperbole. Bully? Mental patient? Off his meds? Give me a break. And he's a U.S. Marine who just got back from Afghanistan--I'm guessing he's brave enough with or without the cameras roiling. Your weird, extreme, hyperbolic reaction to it though, is making me wonder if maybe you're the one who's off his meds...
@Mystylplx The shoes fit Mystyprix and he's wearing them. Ohhh....."hyperbole". LOL!!! Apparently you're a NY Times subscriber. Well Mystyprix to borrow the words from your great Messiah, Sgt. Thomas "acted stupidly" and thank goodness it was recorded on digital video for all to see. Was looking for the HD version so I could get a clear picture of this U.S. Marine foaming at the mouth at these brave NYPD officers. Well, maybe next time I'm sure. Just admit the vid shows him looking for trouble.
At least you've turned down your rhetoric. You've gone from "bully" "mental patient" "off his meds" to "acted stupidly." There's a big difference there so that's progress.
But wait! I spoke too soon! "Foaming at the mouth!" Oh well. You almost turned into a rational human being.
I love that he told off the cops, but is it any better to be hurting people in Iraq? "If you want to hurt people go to Iraq"??? Um, NO. This poor man is about as brainwashed and misguided as those cops if he thinks he was over there protecting his country rather than protecting the interests of millionaires, terrorizing poor people, inciting hatred against the U.S., and killing soldiers who were defending their homeland from an unprovoked foreign invasion.
I see he is, now I can thank you Sgt.Thomas...keep up the good work

This video should be titled.... Sgt. Thomas Antagonizes NYPD Officers. The recorded video is clear on what the prime objective was.

Whhhaaaaah! All he did is yell and speak his mind. Stop being such a ninny. The cops were not harmed by this. Quit with all the hand-wringing.
