  • Honestly, were lucky there are crazy sons of bitches out there doing this.

If not, there would be no advances in the medical field. And half of us would die young.

  • This is amazing think of what could be done if this was perfected. Im all for animal rights but if you bread animals that are meant for experiments then i dont see a problem just numb the animal put it sleep

  • This is plain wrong and evil.

  • I see this as progress for the same of progress. It's unfortunate that two monkeys had to die and yes it's incredibly shocking to see a living severed head. But now we know what CAN be done because of it. I'm not on either side of the argument of whether or not this is right. But what's done is done and we have collected very valuable information from it. This could later down the line help a lot of people.

  • They should try this on humans, just use people on death row

  • damn, the look at the apes face when he woke up...heartbreaking

  • This could be used to save great geniuses who are dying of incurable diseases etc. We could attach their heads to donor bodies to keep them alive. They would be paralyzed, but would still be able to communicate etc. The donor bodies could be acquired from healthy convicts, or even terrorism suspects who cannot be safely released.

  • FRANKENCHIMP

  • I love how dude is smoking a pipe while doing surgery......

  • FOR SCIENCE!

  • Looks like Monkey B got the short end of the stick

  • Interesting. I didn't know about those experiments.

  • poor monkeys :(

  • that monkies face is disturbing

  • To advance the technology behind medical science then theories have to be tested on something. As cruel as it may seem would you rather it be tested on a human?

  • @EtienneLF It may be considered ethical on a consenting quadraplegic human.

  • @pyromanizak Hell, even if you could regain movement for a few hours after being permenantly disabled for life and then death, I'd probably take it.

  • I transplanted a monkey's head and I liked i~iit. It felt so wrong. It felt so right. I think I'm doing science to~ooonight.

  • @Kingof666 now do the full song xD

  • This is just incredible. SO many people are against this! But, why? Animal cruelty? It was asleep. Anyway, ifs this was in 1970, imagine what we can do NOW!! We can probably keep it alive for more than a very short period of time, and probably connect the spinal cords! This is an incredible feat of science!!! If we can connect the spinal cords... It may be able to move it's body!!! This is just... Amazing! I know a monkey was sacrificed, and I'm all for animal rights, but... It's science.

  • @safara1011 hw about experimenting with ur head?

  • @safara1011 But what was it for? if its for a very good reason its probably justifiable but if its for some trivial reason then that's different.

  • @safara1011 So if someone cut off your head while you were asleep, you'd be ok with that?

  • @safara1011 that would be epic but even today we still dont have the capability to repair the nerves once they are severed :(

  • @safara1011 yeah, let's do science with your head, we'll see if you find why it's cruel.

  • @safara1011 What can we gain from this, what use? Why would we ever need to transplant heads? This is disguisting and a waste of money, or should i say ... monkey...

  • @TheAquatramp Ask that to a quadriplegic. Learning how to reattach a spine is vital to finding a solution,

  • @safara1011 and what do you acomplish with this?

  • @mykolas9b Knowledge.

  • @D7K3J Oh really? What kind of knowledge? That we can do something like that? how is that usefull?

  • @safara1011 It's creepy as fuck is what it is

  • @safara1011 if we could connect the spinal cords there would be a lot of disabled people walking right now

  • @safara1011 While I love science and I think it's interesting that a head might be able to be transplanted onto another body, but forgoing animal rights in the name of science is absolutely no different than forgoing human rights in the name of science. What makes a primate, or a dog, or a mouse, or a cat's life any less significant than a human's life? That isn't to say that I don't eat meat, I do, I just don't like killing animals just to see what we can do...

  • @safara1011 And an added comment: if they are looking for human analogue subjects use pigs. That way if they die their death isn't meaningless and they can be eaten.

  • sorry... but this is fucked up! Is there any reason to do this shit other than out of curiosity?!! fucking stupid scientist doctors!! You might be smart, but your not by far the wisest!! You cant just take a life away just for your playthings/ expiriments!! Even if its a monkey, theyre living things like you and me!!!

  • @ShamefulSheep Having the ability to keep a brain alive after the body is killed or seriously injured would be an incredible medical breakthrough, so yes there is a reason to do this other than curiosity. Contrary to popular belief scientists generally don't perform costly and involved medical procedures just for shits and giggles. And seriously? It's a monkey. They kill each other over fruit. Being cute doesn't make you innocent.

  • @basser true, your right about that. Its just that im a little sensitive about animals, humans, plants about life really. and when i see this kind of stuff it made me mad you know. But i cant say much since i help my father slit the throat of a chicken to eat them ( we do a little prayer for the chiken before killing it). I guess my thing is respect for all living things but overall you are right on this topic. would be incredible but has this ever been done on human before?

  • @basser Humans kill each other for much more worthwhile endeavors, right? If it's ok to do this to monkeys, it's ok to do it to humans.

  • @feedtherich Sure, if you could get ethics approval. The nazis experimented on humans all the time. It's all down to the culture of your time and what you deem to be morally acceptable. And yes, in current scientific culture it IS morally acceptable to behead monkeys in the name of science. I think it's a sight better than sewing random Jews together, but that's just me. By all means continue to sociopathically empathize with lower-order primates over of your fellow man.

  • @feedtherich If it wasn't for animal testing you wouldn't have most of the medical technology that will save your life in the future.

  • Why not a blood transfusion with a Y joint?

  • I watched that as a 5 or 6 year old child it was so traumatic I remembered it

  • Please can somebody tell em where can i find this full documentary and..wouldnt it be way easier to try on a reptile?

  • horrible... discard a body and a head.... that means they sacraficed a monkey.... AND the transplantd head monkey didnt live for long...

  • i can't believe anyone would consider this a success. all he did was reconnect two blood vessels and ended up with four pieces of, very much, dead monkey. he would have had the same results if he just said arise chicken, arise.

  • heartless

  • woo! science!....this gives me ideas....

  • I want to live forever.

  • 3:57 It looks like Larry The Cable Guy!

  • SCIENCE!

  • THE BREAKDWN

Body of monkey A is dead

Head of monkey B is dead

The result is Monkey A's head is alive and suffering because its new "B" body is Parolized for ever...

SO NOTHING WAS GAINED! When u had 2 perfectly healthy monkeys to start out with.. This experiment was a Fail cuz it is imposibly to reconect the nervious system from the spine to head!

"A way to advance Medical science my ass! u Failed Dr white.

I hope this shows sick drs that wana try this that its imposible!

  • @vegadomis32988 r u sciontist?

  • this is aweful D:

  • playing God like this is going to seriously come back and kick humans in the ass, big time

  • @Guerillaradio People like you in the past called Doctors "playing god" when they worked to created vaccines and medicines to cure and prevent diseases. Every medical science advancement and medicine you take for granted go through a similar process to test if the drug is effective. Stuff like this is not playing god, this will help advance and save human life.

  • I would use humans not these poor innocent babies. Burn the humans dammit!

  • Could someone tell me which program this is from?

  • this is cool

  • Sick fucks.......Why do you think they were testing on monkeys? To see if it could be possible for humans.Man is evil....

  • Killing animals is not better than killing humans. Remember: we are animals, too! And when anybody thinks of being better than other beings only because he/she's more creative, he's definitely wrong.

  • @chinookking97 Humans are not like other animals, considering we have computers and went into space. Nothing is wrong with killing animals for food or advancing knowledge. Humans are more important to me than other "animals". Animals kill animals every minute in the world. It has been discovered animals don't only kill for food, but also aggression

  • @firespinguy Animals have emotions , personalities and feel and think the exact same way we feel and think.

The only difference is we have more advanced physical features.

Were a Gorilla's brain in a human body , they too would be able to go into space.

  • @colotron Humans have brains that are several times larger than a gorilla, so a gorilla brain would never be able to go to space. This is a scientific fact. We have more advanced physical AND mental features. Animals do have emotions and personalities, but their brain is more primitive than ours. So they do not think exactly as we do because their brains do not have anywhere near the same amount of intelligence as humans do.

  • experiment like this will enable us to put our head on cryostasis then attach it to a synthetic body in the future. this would save alot of people with organs failures and disease. people saying this is inhumane make me sick. better some monkeys to die than one human. I would trade all the monkeys in this world for one human life anyday.

  • one day men might be able to conquer death because of this man´s experiment,

  • @anthonycotillo Yeah...in the same way that zombies conquer death. No thanks.

  • @PeanutButterZombie00 this is just the beggining, progress will make this possible, it is just a matter of time

  • @anthonycotillo I really hope I don't live to see it, then. There are lines that should never be crossed, and I'm not interested in seeing what happens when they are.

  • @PeanutButterZombie00 i am exactly at the other end of the spectrum, i wish i could live to see the day when man no longer is a victim to the diseases of the flesh , men with cyborg bodies or with numerous opportnities to expand their life span, sounds obviously ridiculous at this moment, but it would be amazing to witness the power of the human mind overcoming the limits of nature, to go beyond, that my friend to me would be something great

  • biggest killer.a psychopath,fuck you killer cursed

  • @MrSexylcecream You are trying to re-write history, right right?

  • at 2:10 I was like oh ok I got it. switch A & B heads and bodies. Then at 2:16 I was like wait... what about Monkey B head? Then at 2:22 I realized that Monkey B was decapitated. Those bastards I hope they die of decapitation.

  • I can fap to this.

  • fake. you people are stupid

  • @MrSexylcecream

    You, person, are wrong.

Dr White's work is well documented. You'll just have to deal with that.

    HK

  • I like how it's in the

    "Howto & Style"

    Section.

  • humans are evil ingenious narcissists

  • In 3:02 the monkey's face looks like a goat's

  • The esteemed Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine has even evaluated this very claim and concluded that it was not supported by any evidence. Most animal experiments are not relevant to human health, they do not contribute meaningfully to medical advances and many are undertaken simply of out curiosity and do not even pretend to hold promise for curing illnesses.

  • That monkey looked terrified. And it died after that. It's sad, but it happened. No getting over that.

  • so what happened to monkey B's head?

  • inhumane.

  • @LexaBree Why? Getting a kick out of it would be inhumane. But doing it to possibly save human lives is the future is nobel.

  • This is so cool.

  • All idiots here....Should seems to love science! Well greate! We will cu your FUCKING head off! And make u SEE all the evil things of the world but u cant tuch it....you cant speak it....u cant move it!....There in alittle bowl is your brain.....And we will nursure it!...So u cant die....And u cant kill urself.....U are just there!......We will have fun with ur brain...and learn even MORE about ur human brain....And u cant do anything!......Brain dies last! when will u learn idiots?

  • They should of used murderers, rapists, pedophiles and chavs for this experiment. Because while it is advancing science, it is also removing the scum of the earth.

  • @BrooklynBros TOTALLY AGREE. Hey, if we're killing people, might as well kill the people who aren't really doing anything good lol

  • @BrooklynBros

a pedophile is simply a person attracted to children. It's not a choice, it is a psychological anomoly. Murder is a choice, so is rape. Please understand this distinction--don't villianize people indiscriminately.

  • @AceofDlamonds any man or woman who acts on there attracted desires towards children should be used for science all the time and to be raped by horses and massive jungle men you sick prick

  • @gbpsychopath

wow you're a dumbass. Do you also discriminate and want all homosexuals, harmless psychopaths, mentally ill people dead? Who's the sick prick who wants other human beings to be raped, tortured, etc.?

  • @AceofDlamonds agreed

  • @BrooklynBros these could have been two double team rapist monkeys which is why they got picked ?

  • Interesting...I can see why some people are sad/angry but it's science. The monkeys could have died a number of different ways. Either way, they die just as humans do.

  • As disturbing as this is, hey, we gotta start somewhere. Sucks when you're lower than another on the food chain, isn't it?

  • @ReebaShmeeba And how do u even know that we are the top of the mounatin? Hope they do some horrible things to you! Cut your head and set it in a glass bowl for atleast 500 years....so u can main consiouse but cant kill urself!......FUCKING IDIOT!

  • @NeoDyne112 what's your problem? I'm merely stating my opinion. You need to realize that not everyone thinks like you. Sure, it sucks that the monkey dies...but in my opinion, sometimes that's NECESSARY in order to make improvements in medicine. That's how we as humans are able to do anything advanced now...because it took a shitload of experimenting and sacrifice. How do you think were able to warn people that some medicines can cause death if overdosed?--had to be tested, right?

  • so sad...

  • This is so fucked up...yet highly interesting at the same time

  • I thought saying one life was more valuable than another was facism. Turns out I was wrong according to some of the comments here, facism is not allowing us to sacrifice lives to save others. Sorry, my bad.

  • Alien flys over "look at these retards trying to copy us"

  • This is disgusting and pointless. This was just a sick mans fantasy and I hope he, along with all that helped him carry this monstrosity out, burn in whatever hell they believe in.

  • @Pancakesinspace and what if they only believe in heaven?

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think they all stood back and yelled "SCIENCE!" When the monkey started moving?

  • There was absolutely NO point in doing that. Thats the biggest waste of money and time ever.

  • @mydikfeelslikecorn12

well if the figure out how to do it well with monkeys, then they can do it with humans. and then humans could get head transplants. but really the whole thing seems kind of silly. why not go for a brain transplant?

  • I think this is one of the most wrong things i can imagine. Do you think they learnt anything from that?

  • A part of being higher creatures with a more developed brain, is protecting "lower beings" and also knowing the limits... This was just pointless immoral abusing of the poor monkey that could say "NO" or "Kill me please". It was forced to live and suffer all the way through until the higher beings decided to kill it. And what did we learn from this experiment? It was just pointless...

  • This is fucked up!

  • @WoWlock70 i agree, but how many monkey lives equate to one human life?

  • @WoWlock70 lol. what do u think of animal experimentation?

  • @WoWlock70 What happens when a person has their body crushed and a body is available from somebody that died of brain damage only?

  • All these people who say that humans should be slaughtered don't seem to realize that they themselves are human beings.

There are laws set in place to limit human and animal experimentation, but in most countries these don't exist.

You see this footage? You can never get away with this in a US laboratory. Not even the guys at Plum Island support this.

  • this shiver around my neck...

  • Now environmentalists and animal lovers happily watch and do nothing as millions of animals are butchered every year to make hot dogs, hamburgers, fur coats, female make-up... but if one single monkey is sacrificed to contribute to one of the greatest medical achievement in human history, then they blow Robert White's clinic with a live grenade and threaten his life if he continues with the experiment(a threat which he complied to).

  • @terminator847 well said

  • That is an amazing video, they also did they same experiment with fish recently and proved that it is possible.

  • Seem like he just proved what everybody assumed would happen. The head would have consciousness for a time and the body would not move.

This can never work unless the entire nervous system could be transferred with the brain.

I dont see how this proved anything beyond what was already known.

  • Thumbs Up if you searched this because of the book "Stiff"

  • It looks like animal cruelty or something out of ur worst nightmare!

However "We" must understand without this experiments or tests, medical advances could never b achieve. Imagen how many times did they probably tried b4 getting the heart transplant rigt?!! Or kidney, liver, etc., "We" Must also understand that everything gets tested b4 getting to the human population. Cars=safety tests, foods=consumer tests, and not to mention that the very first doctors used 2 pay grave robbers 4 bodies!!

  • @Eperial1 UR right about the general need of research. But your examples vary from this experiment since success at heart transplant attempts would save someone n need of a new heart while this head transplant was done w/ known certainty that the results would cure no quadriplegic. The best possible results of today's actual attempts at spinal repair on the other hand would cure a quadriplegic. That's what makes the ethical difference between this & the examples you gave.

  • .....where does that even begin to work?!?

  • Just imagine the worst nightmare a George W bush head transplant...

  • wonder if it would work if they were opposite genders. A real life manwoman.

  • for science!

  • This experiment won't save or help anyone. Head transplantation cannot cure a quadriplegic -only spinal nerve regeneration can do that. It also hasn't saved anyone whose body is dead below the neck since this successful head transplant technique still isn't used to save them and never will; by then it would make more sense for paralyzed head transplants to be attached to easier to care for artificial bodies, next spinal re-gen & brainless clone tech will restore full ability.

  • @32DereenigneEsrever you are right it cant cure them. It will basically keep them at the current state, but they wont die. And if research is continued, maybe a cure could be developed

  • @LeemaK please see my response to Eperial1. Thanks.

  • i bet you cant do this with a monkey head and a horse body

  • but did it have its full memory and everything

  • But why?

  • they said that the monkey, after the transplant retained facial movements, but could not move anything else, if so, would it's heart still function? Did they have that hooked up to something or another?

And how exactly does one re-connect blood vessels, any sort of glue or tape or stitches wouldn't work, unless you have some EXTREMELY fine tipped things, but what it looked like in the video was pretty hands on type tools, like they could tell what they were doing without microscopic precision.

  • @sorabain The heart works on it's own. It doen't need orders from the brain to keep the blood circulation up. How do you think paralyzed and crippled people survive?

  • @TheCormocodran

false, my aunt died becouse the signals from the brain to the heart stoped coming

  • @pzykookyzp the heart recieves electrical signals from the central nervous system (CNS) which is in the spinal cord not the brain. Every reflex or unconcios action is controlled by your spine not your brain.

  • @thaluszka1

The CNS is your spinal chord AND your brain.

  • @dhushw true that, but still you get my point?

  • @TheCormocodran Do you know what a medulla is? I suppose not.

  • I read about this in the book, "STIFF: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers". Soem pretty neart stufff.

  • I think this is fucking cool and everything, but if there came a time that my body was no good and I needed a new one, I would accept death. Sometimes science gives us things we don't need. Peoples lives don't always need saving, lets just die when it's our time. But aside from that, so cool

  • deep respect to these forerunning experiment subjects that may save the life of countless others. if they were cloned, they would be given another chance to "live on"

  • i wish they were also cloned before the experiment.

  • This is how science and technology advances. The one time they let us see what's going on people get pissed that they did it. And we wonder big brother doesn't inform society

  • this is just inaceptable....I don`t see the point of these experiment

  • @krisztinnat

    because ur a small-minded idiot.

  • @Yelkwood9 tell us what good this experiment led to instead.

  • @mirabilis

nothing yet, but the research and development of nuclear energy didn't make its impact on humanity for decades.

  • pretty disturbing with the vuvuzelas on lol

  • aint nothing sacred to liberal sceintists. Just wait for Obamacare to kick in, this could happen to any true christians who end up in obama's islamic socialist hospitals.

  • @MAdk1p lmao....oh golly...

  • wtf this is just like the human centipede trailer

  • @babblahbah :DD

  • Why was the B body not connected to the A head? Oh by the way this is really fucked up.

  • MAKING SCIENCE.

  • When the fascist neoconservative right is destroyed, we can get back to using stem cells to create organ and tissue systems and won't any longer have to muck around with decapitating conscious organisms.

  • That's the second most disturbing thing I've ever seen on YouTube

  • @norwichtiger

If the first was Justin Bieber, then you have my vote.

  • @norwichtiger what was the first?

  • @BobbyUncensored The most distrubing was one I saw a good few years ago, it was of people interfering with bodies in a morgue, didn't know what it was becuase it had a spanish title - would have avoided it if I'd known.

  • @norwichtiger

    What's the first?

  • @ladysavala Someone was filming the Sknyliv airshow (02) and caught the crash into the crowd - the person filming then went towards the crash, there were first body parts and then bodies on the ground - I wouldn't recommend searching for it let alone viewing it, not pleasant.

  • AWESOME

  • I'm confused on how the heart beats/respiration is regulated without the spinal chord attached...

  • We wouldn't have half of the technological advances and comforts of the modern age if it wasn't for atrocity and murder.

    It's human nature.
