There is no place like home. My family has all grown in boquilla the view is breathtaking. I still remeber overlooking the ocena and seeing the whales migrating back from the porch with my dad
This is by far my favorite Puerto Rican beach. It is one of those destinations that are so absolutely beautiful. I use to go there since a very early age as well as to La Posa de las Mujeres.
Im from the west of the island, and my uncle took all the family to that beach to see it and we climbed on the rocks to see the waves smash. We also went to Los Tubos, there was alot of wind and the waves were spectacular. And don't be fooled, Mar Chiquita is always crowded.
most certainly chily6534, i have heard of stories like that. it i very sad to see how officials in government and law only look to what benefits them. if it does not affect them personally, then nothing gets done. this 3rd world country mentality is going to kill this culture and this island. i feel bad for the generations to come...if they make it that long! no one can live like this for too long a time.
don't be fooled by this video. this beach is always crowded and people are like from a 3rd world country dumping diapers and trash all over the place. wild dogs roam around and crap all over the place. the town doesn't do anything to enforce the law. it's like "no man's land" out there. too bad because it's a beautiful place that can be used by the town to show its assets and promote tourism, which can't be done as it it right now. it's embarrassing!
musikgoodforsoul...you are so right, I live in the community and even though we have gone to court, municipal office, sanitation and even the mayor of manati, we have to live in these conditions (paying high mortgages)and the government, municipal office, arpe, commisioner of municipal police and the local police could care less to preserve the area. arpe even approved a low-class dumpy drinking business in this decent neighborhood...to add on to the garbage and drug problem in puerto rico.
look, chily, there is no out here... from what I can see this place is beyond help! I don't like to go there anymore. I'm afraid of catching something, plus it's so dirty and noisy, how can you relax and have a good time. I feel bad for the people like you who live nearby. sorry!
Manati has gone through a lot of major changes thanks to the town mayor it is clean. yeah the dogs are still around but its part of what everyone deals with all over the world. This was my families land and used to be the happing place back in the 50's and 60's.
this is my place to go, I live within walking distance of this beach. I love its beauty, puerto rico....let's keep it clean!!! please don't dump your dog on our beaches.

I considered this my "secret beach" find while on vacation. Absolutely stunning and no crowd. A bit off the beaten path, but no too hard to find.
