I have seen myself from working with groups such as RAINN, and other sexual abuse survivor groups that men suffer the same shame and disgust that women feel they just don't report it. This is predicated by our screwed up culture which both sexes are involved in. Many women's groups fem or not are advocating that women suffer

a woman can't easily rape a man? alcohol and date rape drugs have the same effects on men as they do with women. it's even easier for a woman to coerce a man into doing drugs so that his judgement is compromised.
as far as having sex again after being raped, i'm pretty sure she meant that they have consensual sex with their rapist. and just because they know their attackers doesn't mean they were in a sexual relationship with them before the event.

As a female I can forgive you for not knowing this, but an erection is not a controllable body function. Yes, there is some limited control, but not to the extent that you could make it go away just because you want it to.
It is very possible for a woman to rape a man, not through physical force, but through coercion, which women are generally much better at than men.

The questions one might ask is, who or what has confused them ? Perhaps the feminists ? I hope you don't think i am oversimplifying any of the arguments i presented here, i just think that these laws and movements protecting women, are infringing the rights of normal men. I think you should research this with an unbiased approach, and not just look for clues or evidence that proves men as being bad.

hi, i agree with you on alot of things, but i disagree with two of your arguments: to say that a person who is under the influence of a drug substance, cannot clearly give a definite answer to sex is false. I believe that some women prefer to be intoxicated before sex; because it breaks there inhibitions and allows them perform better. Second, i think if a person who does not give a clear definite answer to sex, yet still has sex is phony and is either lying or confused about the situation.

My point has to do with getting someone drunk in order to have sex with them, you can't properly give consent without the ability to really think. You can't always have someone look out for you, things happen.

Yes, incest. Many times incest isn't consentual, hence rape. This is much easier to repeat considering the relationship.

This is true and it is implied in my previous statement about putting drugs or something (alcohol) in someone's drink. The thing about alcohol is someone will know it's there when they taste it or start feeling buzzed and then stop. Drugs usually get you KO'd within minutes.
The stance feminists take on alcohol is men "making" a woman consume too much alcohol.
It's hard to tell that stance is not yours.

There are times when you will not be able to tell that alcohol is in your drink. Also, I have known people to drink much more than the realize and get very drunk without feeling it...but then they get up and move (or try to).
I just thought that Marina was making the issue of rape seem much smaller and less serious than it really is. I never mean to discredit men.

The point is that if you let yourself get drunk, and then have sex and regret it, then it is your fault and calling it rape in unjust. If you want to prevent yourself from having sex with someone you'd rather not, don't get drunk or have someone watch out for you.
Actually, women can easily rape men. It's just a cultural thing. When a man wakes up after a crazy night with a woman he doesn't know he says "Oops." When a women does the exact same thing she says "RAPE!"

I think this is a completely valid point that people overlook.
The equivalent would be if a man (or woman) got drunk, drove their car and slammed into an oncoming car, then they precede to blame the other car for not being clear-headed enough to avoid their own car due to their drunkenness. So, they try to move responsibility from their own actions to the actions of the other.
This argument does not fly as valid in ANY circumstance other than when women call this "being taken advantage of".

Rape is not two consenting adults having sex and one regretting it afterward. Date rape occurs when an individual coerces someone into a sexual act or it is clear that the partner never consented and resisted. If someone passes out from alcohol and another person has sex with them, that is clearly rape.

I said nothing about passing out. I said that if you get drunk and have sex of your own volition, even if that decision is a poor one, then it is not rape. Especially when the other person is intoxicated as well, which is the case in 1/3 sexual assault cases.

Hellwithpoverty, it's quite disturbing to see, on eg youtube, how rape gets downplayed by so many men. Im happy to not live in the USA but a civilized european country, where most men do understand what rape it, we have MUCH lower rape rates than USA as well. I dont know what causes the rate rapes to be so high in USA, but it truly is disturbing (USA is quite a violent culture). To then see men (not only here but on other videos as well) trivialize and downplay it, is quite shocking.
