  • It's alright if you want to repeat the basic idea of sliding filaments.

  • =\ not helpful

  • exellennnnnnnt

  • Hey i i believed you labeled myosin wrong. I just did a reference in my text book and it says actin is the filament that is connected to the Z line not myosin. found at .42 on your video. The red band should be myosin while the blue band should be actin.

  • @hotbaonguyen92 I think you are misunderstanding the labeling. He says "thin filament actin in blue"

  • gawd im in a freaking college class that has to use youtube as a learning device, where did my life go wrong....

  • @TheVJProduction heh heh:)

  • @TheVJProduction Such is most community colleges. Do you attend Valencia? lol

  • @Silvercordband hahaha lol no, ill leave my school out of this. i don't want my instructor to ever know i said anything like this. haha.

  • @TheVJProduction i has the same issue :D oh noes... oh well it all goes over my head anyway.

  • It's like layers and layers of Twizzlers...

  • @SheepyMilk My professor actually did that in lab. She used Twizzlers to represent the actin and myosin.

  • Comment removed

  • That basically saved me a chapter.

  • Thank you!! =D

  • thanks this really helps a lot =]=]

  • arghh this was great but i neeed more detail

  • That is so much quicker and more straight forward than the 8 minute online tutorial I just watched. Thank you!

  • so i have a test on this tommrow and this helped me alot thanks bro

  • omg, im on a bloody horse course, should i really need 2 know this!!

thankyou v.much neurocirujo, u saved my ass super stylie :P xx

  • but what about the chemistry behind it? what about the calcium ions and atp?

  • wtf was he just talking about

  • @Brentoss13 this is on my test tomorrow.... im fucked.

  • @JayRad1479 I hear ya there! I'm just starting my PT class online and totally stopped when I got to this section in the book.. Yikes!!! Had to see if youtube explained it better! And of course it usually does....

  • lmao im learning this at college

  • THANK YOUU

  • And welcome to the hard part of becoming a personal trainer -.-

  • This is the greatest explanation for muscle contraction i've seen all over youtube, thanks for explaining the Zline and what a sacromere is, cheers!

  • thank you!! pretty much a lifesaver right about now

  • God this thing saved my ass haha... Bio test tomorow :(

  • it would be nice if the terms you use would show up on the screen.. but good vid

  • Our neuroscience teacher acts like we're retarded when we ask questions or need clarification...so no one in the class ever learned how muscle fibers worked. We had a test over it and everyone in the class agreed that this video is what helped us pass. Thanks for making and sharing this.

  • @Ljenkins9000

Actually the correct terminology used is called "fascicles"

  • Great video but not helpful. I got a feeling like i'm reading a book here.

  • What is he saying at 0:13? Vesiculus?

  • he is saying fasiculus

  • @webs336 Thanks

  • Did you make this video yourself? What program did you use if I may ask?

  • great you're good

  • this is useless, nothing about troponin or tropomyosin, calcium, atp, etc. this is for high school anatomy & physiology

  • THANK U THANK U THANK UUUUUUU!!!!!

  • love this video, it's clearly explains how the mucle cells contracts. thank u so much for this wonderful video

  • Thnx....finally got something into my head...

  • well i'm searching sliding filament theory for my report...

  • its easy to understand

  • This is really good, thank you.

  • geez he spoke fast enough.

  • yooo im in ms morrisons class !!

  • Thanks soo much, that helped me so much.

  • Watch in HQ for better graphics!

  • Umm, don't you mean HD haha?

  • HQ means high quality -_-

look next to the sound button

  • there is nothing that says, "HQ" next to the sound button

  • Absolutely excellent; thanks alot neurocirujo, i never understood this by reading it, but by a simple 1min video i've learnt it all Thanks man youtube is the best

  • Videos help a lot!

  • come on people don't learn your muscular anatomy on youtube. These people have tagged the things wrong. The Z lines are btw. Actins (the thin filament)....but.....they have tagged Actins as myosins and myosins as actins.

  • its good to see a visual demonstration after reading about it for a while, especially when it talks about movements. movements are better seen than read i would say.

  • I agree. And I'm a visual learner, so this just helps to put the pieces together.

  • I've seen some really professional looking medical illustrations on the internet too that were labelled incorrectly - SCARY! Never will stray from my book again, sometimes your books sucks, so you look else-where..but even text's can be wrong at times, that's why they make you buy new ed's every year or every other year (updates/corrections)

  • you are right, most of the amazing looking medical animations will be factually not so precise because its made by someone with degree in animation art and not MD. But there are animations that you can not ignore. there is no book out there that can come even close to teaching certain topics such as complement system as good as an animation. try to look for the once made by medical students and residents as their projects. i got some under my profile.

  • Actually medical illustrators with an MFA / BA degrees have to take the same types of "pre-med" courses that you do. You do not need to have an MD to make an animation about a simple physiology concept. Usually, there is a team working on more sophisticated animations & the artists research other medical/science texts & consult with medical/science experts. They aren't just making it up out of their head. Typos & mix ups can be made of course. Many things on Youtube are stolen anyway.

  • ha ha i don't have freedom to make even small mistakes with typos or mix ups. and usually i am not worried about benign mistakes but i have found many mistakes that confuses the fundamental concepts and misguides. anywho its an independent choice.

  • very detailed

  • Thank you this will be useful for studying for my exam :)

  • i thought filament was a state of matter

    please reply.

  • Help pass A- level

  • this makes so much sense now! I remember watching this in class for the 1st time and thinking, "wtF is this guy talking about??"

But after having studied my notes, this vid. makes for a good recap!
