I've played "Imagine" to hundreds and hundreds of kids in Hong Kong under the auspices of English teaching - I've taken ten words out and they listen to the song a few times and put the words back. I remember being about 6, in England and we danced to "She Loves You" at primary school and my gran who was about 70 bought me a book about John. I could go on.

I am a middle school teacher and many of today's youth do not think they have the ability to change the way things are. So I use a lot of music and video presentations to help them "see". We can not be ignored forever. The '60's are an awesome example of what youth can do. I am trying to show my students that although they can't change everything they can change something. My students sent petitions to the President, written letters to our troops in Iraq and are working with special needs children. Even if we can not make the whole world better we can make our part a little better. You have to start somewhere. Never stop imagining for when we do then all IS lost.

Really nice ! I've played "Imagine" to hundreds and hundreds of kids in Hong Kong under the auspices of English teaching - I've taken ten words out and they listen to the song a few times and put the words back. I remember being about 6, in England and we danced to "She Loves You" at primary school and my gran who was about 70 bought me a book about John. I could go on.

I am a middle school teacher and many of today's youth do not think they have the ability to change the way things are. So I use a lot of music and video presentations to help them "see". We can not be ignored forever. The '60's are an awesome example of what youth can do. I am trying to show my students that although they can't change everything they can change something. My students sent petitions to the President, written letters to our troops in Iraq and are working with special needs children. Even if we can not make the whole world better we can make our part a little better. You have to start somewhere. Never stop imagining for when we do then all IS lost.

I sang Imagine in a video that was to be sent all over the world. I am glad this one was more successful. I think Yoko has done well to pass on John Lennon's message. I am a dreamer ,but unfortunately I can only imagine the world in peace. There are so many things in this world that are horrible. I believe that sometime in the future that everything will be fixed. John Lennon was a Beatle before he met Yoko, nothing more. A pop star, yes, but not a legend. If the Beatles had disbanded in 1965, the year before he met her, they'd hardly be remembered today, and only as a mod sixties band. Being handsome and funny doesn't make you a legend.

Motherhood is hardly a 'cheap point', buddy. Look at Julian, the poor guy - John and Cynthia's marriage was not a good one, though that's understandable, considering he was a Beatle at the height of their popularity and had a different groupie for every bed he slept in, and married Cynthia after she got pregnant. John really sucked at being a father to Julian, and didn't really show much interest in him until the end of his life.

However, when Sean was born, Yoko and John switched roles; Yoko would take care of the 'man's job', looking after the business, dealing with contracts, ect., all of which she was very good at. John stayed home and took care of the baby, forming a very close and loving relationship with him, and realizing the stress of being a mother. However, after John died, Yoko had to become both parents to him. Sean is now all grown up and really cool....check out his website.

The Beatles were crumbling since Brian died; Paul became controlling and egotistical, complaining about George's guitar playing, and pushing them into stuff like Magical Myster Tour and Let it Be, which only he enjoyed; George was very offended and wanted to pursue his spirituality; Ringo became fed up with all the bickering that was going on and left the group; John was becoming absorbed in politics and his life with Yoko.
The Beatles broke up The Beatles.

Even if it were all because of Yoko, that would hardly make her 'evil'. The Beatles were just a band, that's all. They were full-grown adults who had their own lives to lead, other than pleasing you. They gave us ten years worth of great music.....isn't that enough? They made great music in their solo careers as well. I don't think we really even any of it. John and Yoko loved each other and shared a life. Obviously, you're missing something crucial.

Mind Holes, Silver Horse, Everyman Everywoman, Sister O Sister, We're All Water, Imagine (yes, she co-wrote that), Yang Yang (which is my current favorite), Goodbye Sadness, Mrs. Lennon, Walking on Thin Ice, Mindweaver, Will You Touch Me, Airmale, Midsummer New York, ect.
Yoko came from a very wealthy Japanese family (she went to school with the emperor's son) and was certainly no gold-digger.
Yoko is not the reason The Beatles broke up.

John used her as a wedge to drive between himself and the band. The Beatles were doomed ever since Brian Epstien died; Paul was taking over the 'leader' position, and that pissed the others off; they were all expanding past the limits of Beatledom (musically, religiously, and personally) so it was only a matter of time before they split. They had families to attend to, and in George's case spiritual journeys to go on.
