When Attitude Era refs got nailed with finishers they knew about it in advance and learned to take the move (since many of them, if screwed up, can lead to severe injury like the Pedigree). The ref in the match with Cryme Time wasn't supposed to take the bump and didn't know how and could have gotten injured. Plus Cryme Time was sort of racially offensive since their aren't a boatload of African Americans in the WWE and they pushed a stereotype.

I mean it sucks because in the old attitude Days WWF/E did something where austin was strapped to a cross while taker did a pose.
