Love this tune, first heard it in 2001. The video is very fitting and along with the music gives a real feel of a Dystopia State. Scary and yet Beautiful.
been following brian dougan and gaz cobains music for twenty years now.there music is and always has been brilliant. they are great at putting samples together. they have shared samples with another favourite band ozric tentacles.
First time I saw this was in '96 on Top of the fucking Pops of all places. I still wonder how this stuff ever got played on mainstream TV. Oh right, we all had imagination and dreams back then. MTV only ever play utter shit now. FSOL were highly creative musicians and this is one of their very best tunes. Love the visuals too. Just so fucked up and unique.
First heard this in 95 and to this day this song and video still haunts me! One of my All Time Favs from FSOL ... its almost like me theme song ... played this ooohhhh sooo many times
I remember watching this video as a 15yo kid. I didn't know anything about electronic music or FSOL or whatever. I was just staring at the tv. but I wasn't really there...
What i like the most from this song and video...is that it can totally take your senses into some new void ...a realm that blends imagination, and reality..., just FEW songs by artist in this genre can really do this...and this is by far my favorite from FSOL,i wish there are more songs like this one , because WE all dreamers and wonderers of this insane world..would need more of it...to create, get inspired and find ways to scape into somthing new, different, bizarre and unique..
@blackmago Problem is no-one wants this in music any more, right? Gotta be autotuned black dudes or pop princesses blurting/farting/skwarking out inane lyrics with half-naked girls flashing their attributes while jigging like idiots. Damn, MTV used to play some good stuff in the 90s, including this awesome FSOL tune, but not any more. At all, ever.
This particular song includes a sample of Vangelis' work, Rachel's Song. Ever since I had made the connection, I consider this one of my favorite songs off of the album Dead Cities. Lifeforms, however, is still my favorite album of all time by them. Dead Cities has a very... melancholic sound that haunts me.
all time fave artists along with coldcut, unkle and hybrid. This track samples vangelis, ennio morricone and (ozric tentacles whose former members formed eatstatic, originall trance masters!!)

The pipes sample is from "Cockeys Song" from Once Upon a Time in America.
First heard this on Chill Out Moods 9CD Box Set; one of many gems in that collection. This song still blows me away....
