  • very nice love the sound!!!!!!!!!

  • Automatics aren't entertaining

  • @afdrum43 daww sorry to disappoint you :( hahahahhaha

  • Sounds great, What model HKS is that exactly. Have a 05 Outback that needs that!

  • @snowlife23 the only one that'll show on hks's website when you do a model search. part number 31019-AF019 (apparently this isn't liking links) you'll need to do some digging if it'll fit the wagon or not though. i want to say i remember the sedan and wagon being different on their lengths needed to sit flush with the bumper. good luck!

  • Sounds good!

  • So this is where the decommissioned space exhaust tips go.

  • @MrRiboflavin hahhahaah thanks Nate, you know you loved it when you drove it.

  • I have a 2011 Subaru legacy 2.5i and I was wondering if u know if a Subaru legacy gt part fit on a regular Subaru legacy

  • @asianboy829 Honestly i'm not 100% positive the n/a and turbo'd models have the same exhaust or not. Head over to legacygt.com and search around the exhaust section of the forum i'm sure the answer has to be there. i'd assume catback would be the same, but i'm not sure... the hks has a 3" straight pipe where it attaches to the cat though, which might be way too big for the n/a model exhaust. You may need to find some kind of reducer to mate the two. Good luck...

  • i bet you drive an auto

  • @suhailtheboss you know full well i do suhail, and you know i love my auto hahahahah.

  • how do u like the legacy bro? thinkin bout getting one, where is a good site to look for parts for these things?

  • @CodyWalker5 rallitek, fastwrx, jscspeed, erzperformance, and importimageracing is my favorite. they are all (.com's)

  • @CodyWalker5 i honestly love the legacy, been a great car. i had one wheel bearing issue which i think i just had a bad one out of a batch. everything else has been a complete joy. had a lot of issues with a honda before this car and i have no regrets picking up this car. reasonably quick, insurance is cheap, can be made to handle pretty well for a family sedan, comfy ride, etc... legacygt.com is a forum, go there and there's a vendor list as well.

  • @Seth1784 thnx man i appreciate the opinion!

  • sounds amazing, i love that nice low rumble, loud exhausts sound like im trying to impress someone, its really just annoying haha

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks mate. I'm thinking of getting this catback set up. But I wonder if changing just the hipower muffler alone (not catback) would produce the same boxer note & performance? how much does the catback cost you?

  • Is that a 2.5gt? btw, the hks catback comes with hks downpipe? sounds wicked

  • @diah07 Yes it's a 2.5gt... No it does not come with an HKS downpipe, this video was taken before the canbus system was cracked by cobb and the others so a downpipe wasn't something i could run. I am now running a cobb catted downpipe, it is a tad deeper and maybe a tiny bit louder but not much. Also just a side note, check the hks pipe if you chose it. They used to come with a plate covering the wastegate (aka not the best option). Look for a bellmouth option instead.

  • too quiet...

  • yo give it turbo :)

  • @JetZT7 lol stock turbo charged car dude :) i've been looking at a slightly larger turbo lately but i don't know if my wallet likes the idea as much as my brain does.

  • @Seth1784 well u could try a stage 1 turbo then set it to .5PSI its not much boost but at least u hear the turbo. What if i tried making the exhaust pipes strsight like u directly from the engine would that work. Ive seen a '92 civic with stage one in it @ .5PSI or I think it was 1PSI. yo the turbo sounded like a weak gasping sound. Where Iam technically u can suup a ride but u cant go beyond 400HP cause have that much under there hoods. So u know :/

  • @JetZT7 lol stock boost for the legacy i want to say was 12 or 14psi, i'm running ~18.5 psi right now, should be some where around 280 whp and 300 to 310 wtq (from the averages running around the legacy forums. the turbo upgrade i meant would be something like a bnr turbos hybrid to an 18g or something of that sort and shoot for around 350 whp. :)

  • @Seth1784 oh ok kool niice im just a back seat car guy lol :)

  • @Seth1784 Yeah, but if you are running at 18.5 psi and put ANOTHER stage 1 turbo on it and set it at .5 psi you would have 19 psi. Now you're feeling him, right? Making it twin turbo or bi-turbo ins't THAT much work and or money. Hell, you could turbocharge your turbo. Why hasn't anyone done that yet? And why don't they start putting mayonnaise in the can of tuna? Better yet: why not take live tuna and feed them mayonnaise? Brilliant!

    JetZTZ just razzin' ya.

  • This clip put me over the edge on buying the HKS setup. I don't have a vid of mine yet, but it definitely sounds money in real life too. Worth every cent.

    Thanks for the clip.

  • @lownotslow hahahhah congrats on the purchase :D have you thrown on a downpipe already? i like how it deepened up a tad more with it.

  • im thinking about getting a 2005 legacy gt with 51k on it are these cars reliable and do they cost alot of money to maintain?

  • @Parker002 sorry i spaced out the fact these comments were sitting here. the subaru isn't too bad, hit up the legacy forums and you can read what issues folks do have if you'd like. personally i've had one wheel bearing issue that was covered was all.

  • @AgentStyles But I know what you mean by avoiding an exhaust that sounds like "noise". I want it to sound intimidating but yea I want to avoid it being obnoxious.

  • @AgentStyles Yeah there's a lot of options but it's hard to find the choice with the best of every aspect of aftermarket exhaust. They all boast the distinct boxer rumble and its easy to tell it's a Legacy and not an Impreza, just some are raspier than others, some backfire than others. And yeah some add more horsepower than others so I'm still indecisive.

  • @AgentStyles They are, thank you. Yeah, I didn't choose this exhaust. My car is still stock but I have big plans for it. My only problem is most available aftermarket exhausts other than this one that I'm aware of at least.. are much more obnoxious. I'm all for an exhaust making my car sounds badass I'm just worried about getting sick of it eventually.

  • @AgentStyles I can't think of any manlier sounding 4 cylinder than a Subaru boxer. I'm sure you can admit that you agree - regardless if you can even prove there is a production 4 banger with a deeper sound, you still can't be serious if you say they sound weak.

  • @AgentStyles Well I admire the fact that you weren't a little bitch about it and capitalized your emotions defending the mustang, I respect that. I was only talking shit for fun to push your buttons. Mustang is probably my favorite american car. Nothing against it. I'm just saying your first comment was arrogant and unnecessary and pissed me off. Plus the legacy does not sound weak by any means.

  • @AgentStyles hahah mustang GT poorly engineered ford. That thing would get smoked by a Legacy GT. It sounds better, rides nicer, is more reliable, looks better and is made by a much better manufacturer than fuckin ford haha

  • @AgentStyles P.P.S. My car does not sound weak. This video is an example of the most subtle aftermarket exhaust you can buy for a Legacy, in terms of sound. Search up Perrin Legacy GT exhaust and tell me that sounds weak. And if your cocky ass is so condescending as to call THAT weak, search Legacy GT straight pipe.

  • @AgentStyles With half the cylinders I might add.

  • @AgentStyles Haha yeah. And its not my fault your car is unreliable, overweight, ugly, poorly engineered, cheaply built and handles like a boat. And for the record, my car would smoke yours. ;)

  • @AgentStyles wow you're an arrogant douchebag buddy. If you have that kind of attitude driving a Subaru then maybe you should consider joining the snobby BMW community. And if you drive a Honda or some ricer fart can like that then don't even talk.

  • Best vid out of all of them for me so far.

  • Nice job, looking at putting something just like this on my JDM 05 Legacy GT Blitzen, can you let me know what the HKS model number is for your cat-back, codes seem to be a little different here in New Zealand, cheers.

  • @KODYandCo well do you have the 2.0L or the 2.5L? i want to say some jdm ones i read had the 2.0L if so that's your problem. here we've got the 2.5L, our part number from hks usa is 31019-AF019 it also says "SUBARU Legacy 2005-2008 Turbo ; GT Model ONLY / Dual Silent Hi-Power". i don't know if any of that will help you or not, best of luck with it either way.

  • Nice job, looking at putting something just like this on my JDM 05 Legacy GT Blitzen, can you let me know what the HKS model number is for your cat-back, codes seem to be a little different here in New Zealand, cheers.

  • I've got a 06 LGT...aside from an AEM intake, it's bone stock...I want this exhaust system so bad! I've been researching and watching videos on youtube and your exhaust note is by far the best one I've heard...I just don't have $1,400 to spend right now, damn HKS! :( ...awesome ride buddy :)

  • @vinniedude101 hahahh well thank you, i'm personally an hks fan with just about everything they make. if you do some searching around you can find it cheaper then 1400. my local dealer scored it for me just a hair over 900. i think online cheapest i've seen is in the 1000 realm but i could be wrong it's been a while since i've looked.

  • you should think about getting an up pipe aswell, my buddy did in his 05 legacy and i even noticed a big difference

  • @Gregation the 07 and up's get a little lucky, we can skip the up pipe if we want. the 05/06's had a cat in the up pipe while all the years after there isn't one. so if we do an up pipe the gain is minimal... only real difference from what i read is a little larger diameter piping. so spool would be slightly quicker (think a couple 100 rpm's is all).

  • man, i love my 2001 gt. she is slow, she is heavy, but i wouldnt trade her for the world. It might just be me, but i think she feels fast for her lack of power. something like 100 AWHP

  • @trev0rV hahhahah as long as you're happy nothing else matters :D

  • I want one soo bad now... ):

  • Very nice, much appreciated. Almost bought on 07 legacy GT. The wrx for classy dudes lol

  • @BearsDkills hahahhahahah you're the second person i've heard that from.

  • sounds good.

  • That car looks very nice looks better than the 2010 Legacy.

  • @workensmart i personally love the 05 to 07 the most out of all the newer gens, but each has their own likes and dislikes. thank you as well, it has been a great car to own.

  • finaly a legacy that sounds good

  • @BBSroll hahahahah thanks, the perrin sounds damn good too.

  • this vid makes me want one :(

  • Does the HKS silent exhaust fit the 2010 LGT?!

    nice car :)

  • @faheeed1 i've honestly never looked under the 10' legacy but i really doubt much if anything has changed. i'd ask your dealer if there is any change from the 05 on up models to know for sure though.

  • @Seth1784 Actually, for 2010 the entire exhaust/turbo setup was changed in the Legacy GTs. The turbo is now right behind the front bumper, so the exhaust path has most definitely changed.

  • @gcdan welp there's your answer then. you'll have to wait to see if hks releases a model that'll fit the 2010 models.

  • this is a four cylender??

  • @hockeyPballer455 yea flat 4 with a single turbo

  • sounds like a vw bug

  • @4BangerNA10Sec hahahaha first time i've heard that one

  • car is so nice i was thinking of getting one what do u think?

  • @FMFx23 it's a real nice car i have enjoyed owning it. i'd say go for it if you end up liking it.

  • @Seth1784 thanks bro and i love it!

  • a little eyesore, but great car.

  • I love the way boxers sound!!

  • OMG same rims are me hot as

  • hahhahaha NICE, don't see many folks rocking the advan tcII's to be honest lol.

  • hey man what kinda rims you got on

  • exactly what i said in the comment you replied to, Advan TC II (2)'s

  • Lovin those wheels

  • thanks :D

  • love the sound of your car. I just bought an Outback 3.0R and would love for it to sound bubbly like this..... this is the real subaru sound... wicked.. i have checked HKS website for this exhaust and they only mention availability for the STi.. is the length the same or do i need a longer pipe, seeing as the outback does have a slightly longer rear end? Post and let us know... cheers.

  • hit up homeaway a little below you here, looks like he made it happen. like it was said though the 3.0R has equal length headers, and the other turbo cars from subaru have unequal length so that's what makes the boxer rumble that everyone knows. so it will sound different but it still might make you happy. you wont see power from it though, as far as the outback it MIGHT need to be a little longer, i know the wagon and sedan exhaust are different. hope this helps, best of luck!

  • thats not an 2007 its either 05 or 06 the 07 are ugly bumper family in mind lets add reflectors on the car to make it more noticeable dumb move.

  • wow... it's amazing to me how people are so knowledgeable about everything on the net, yet they are completely wrong. perhaps do some research next time?

my car is an 07, i know what year of car i purchased. the models went 05 to 07, 08 and 09 (model you're thinking of) then 2010 and up. the 07's had black fogs instead of color matched (like 05/06's), different gauge cluster, rear fold seats, mp3 headunit, and a few other changes from the 05/06.

    sorry to burst your bubble.

  • @natedog2008 its the 07, bumper stickers appears only for 08 09

  • Looks and sounds great!

  • i like the sound of it, quiet yet deep...

    suitable for every day driving..

i wonder if it will be suitable for my 2009 3.0r

is there any noticable power gain

    hope you answer..

  • as for the every day, it's not bad highway can drown but what won't that has noise at certain areas? i'm sure it wouldn't sound much different on a 3.0R but then again i really don't know how your catback is set up. it may or may not bolt up the same. if it does... gains, well the legacy mufflers do very well for stock. the restrictions are in the pipe from the cat to the y pipe and the y pipe themselves. you MIGHT see 5 horse from it if that. stock exhaust does well for power for the most part.

  • @homeaway0 exhaust alone wont bring u any HP gain. 3.0r has equal length headers so the sound will be different

  • thanx body,

i already fitted the exhaust on my car

    it sounds different indeed

    but very nice

i'll put a sound clip soon and i'll inform you

  • i got mine from a local shop who carries HKS, any hks dealer can get it it's not a pro dealer only part. my wheels are Advan TCII's by the way. thanks for the compliment.

  • How come HKS's website doesn't list your car?

  • shows for me, choose subaru, 2007, legacy gt limited. it'll be the only thing they make listed for that car. (should work for 2005 to 2008 from what they show on the product page)

  • nice love the white on gold

  • How is that rice?

  • yea stfu

    fagget

  • does wrx parts fit a legacy?

  • define wrx parts, we can fit on a sti turbo BUT you need a good deal of parts for it and it doesnt fit well. you'll need the intercooler, turbo, upper intake mani, some other crap i dont recall. but pretty much no wrx parts dont fit on the legacy.

  • Thank you, you answered what i wanted to know. I thaught it was the same deal as a wrx and that i can just put downpipes and uppipes and what not from a sti or a wrx but loooks like its not that easy so i will look for wrx's. thanks.

  • Yeah pretty much do a sti swap while you are at it.

  • Almost as if you can hear the air swirling about in the exhaust when he drives off-- gotta love that Subaru note when a proper exhaust is added to the mix, straight sexy

  • actually that's just the way the legacy hks comes. i'd assume since it's subaru's little more "luxury" car they wanted to make it a little more subtle. other then that i really don't have a clue why it's a "silent" hipower. also i'll say this lol even though i didn't intend on having quiet exhaust i honestly like the fact it is a little more quiet since it makes road trips and stuff not so annoying with a drowning exhaust note.

  • why the low noise version might i ask? is it due to raod laws where you live? or is it just preference to have a sleeper?

  • ok i'll try this again, every time i leave answers they never go through.

tommy... supposedly it wont go over 90db.

jogga... they are Advan TCII's 18x7.5 with a 48mm offset.

moham... yea i've got a cobb catted downpipe on mine right now (need to get a new clip updated here) and it fit up just fine. anything with a 3" outlet will mate up just fine. the cobb is a 2.5" but it works just as well.

  • sounds good and i can do the downpipe with the hks silent right?

  • I just bought an 05 gt and i'm wondering what performance parts are the best to get for it. any suggestions? i already like the exhaust you got....anything else? chip?...etc interior and exterior---let me kno thanks

  • downpipe and a cobb accessport so you can go to a stage two tune? o.O

  • i thought stage two was downpipe. cobb accessport and catback exhaust.

  • Awesome exhaust,and I love the wheels,what are they?

  • sick legacy man i want to get exhausts for the one im hopefully gonna get

  • hmm...not bad. btw how loud is your exhaust?? dB?

  • well it's got a "Jasma" badge on it. which i had to google, it said that it's japan street legal which meant it doesnt go over (if i recall correctly) 89 or 90db. so it's fairly quiet. at idle you cant really hear much of anything. here this summer i'll reshoot with the cobb high flow catted downpipe to show a difference (which is minimal).

  • very nice sound!

  • sick video and car. Does it have springs on it, if so what kind? sick rims to btw.

  • thanks, they are KW Varient 2 coilovers. they've settled a little bit since then, that was when they were about a day old on the car. i do know the Swift springs will drop some where in the same realm though.

  • that'll depend who you can get it from in your area. online most are between 900 to 1100. i was low 900 from a local shop who does a lot with hks. just go to hks's site look up the part and call the places they list, or call your local tuner shops see if they can get it.

  • I got 2009 3.0R wanna do that! How much did it cost u?

  • well i've got a good deal of sound deaden in my car for audio purposes, so what it would be like on a stock car would be slightly different. with how i am up front highway driving i can hear it but the radio will drown it out. in the rear of the car if you have no radio on it'll drown a little bit. full throttle according to the jasma badge that's on there it wont go over 90db.

  • how loud is it on the inside?

  • i love the way the subarus boxter engines sound

  • awesome video! your car sounds amazing!

  • I am looking to get a system for my 07 GT as well. Can you post the manufacturer information on the system you are using in the video?

    much appriciated,

    TJ

  • lol why is that?

  • My friend said he would like to meet you and shake your hand. LOLOLOLOL

  • glad you like it <3

  • hi ive got a o4 gt liberty

and my exaust system is driving me crazy i just cant gt the boxer sound to come out could u plz tell me exatcly what u have done with ur system i would really aprreciate it thanks

  • honestly that was catback exhaust only. if you lost the boxer sound it's probably from equal length or aftermarket headers. if you have them go back to stock. stock ones are non equal length which gives it that boxer sound.

  • I like this sound...mean but still quiet. I'm hoping to get a Legacy soon. Nice car!

  • Great job, car looks awesome

  • thank you :) just did some minor brake upgrades that made a world of difference.

  • Thanks for putting this video up, the car sounds awesome! I am trying to decide on a CBE on my 08 LGT, this HKS sounds amazing! How is the exhaust on the highway? Is there any drone?

  • lol no problem, i need to reshoot another since i have a cobb catted downpipe on now which gave it a little more throaty sound/little deeper.

on the highway i dont really get much up front, now if you're in the back there is a little droning honestly but it's nothing terrible. part is because there is virtually NO sound deaden in the legacy. i'd suggest getting some sound deaden (i did with all my audio) and it helped greatly. as long as you have your radio going you probably wont hear it.

  • Just got this exhaust put on my black 2006 gt.

So much better then the boring quiet stock system.

Also have a hks boost controller, hks carbon fiber intake, and run 17 psi.

Making 183kw at the wheels or roughly 230kw at the flywheel.

Only downside is im still getting the classic Legacy GT stutter when you rev it out.

  • careful with the boost controller, i've read lots of "oh no" stories with controllers on subaru's. now i've got the cobb stage two (turbo back) flash running with about 16.5psi on mine :) feels like a different car lol.

  • lol thanks everyone

  • very nice sound and nice car. i wish i could afford a legacy like that lol

  • Sounz Amazin ..

  • awesome sound!

  • i got mine from a local performance shop, does a lot of hks stuff and had a good discount to make it cheaper with tax through them then online. other wise i was going to go through Gruppe-S they can get it. it's state side so no need to go through a japan importer. pick a hks dealer and call :D good luck to you!

  • where did you get them exhausts?japanparts have them but cant confirm if they fit the sedans, only wagons.

  • hey love the way it sounds! just picked up a 06 spec b...is that the stock bpv or do you have some kind of bov on it

  • turbosmart 50/50 legacy specific blow off valve :)

  • i see what kind of rims they are but what size are they cause they look perfect

  • 18 x 7.5's tires are a 255/40/18 falken. thanks for the comment :)

  • i imagine it is pretty quiet inside right? and how much did it cost?

  • yea it actually is... i have some sound deaden in the car though so that also helps. you're looking between 900 on up to about 1100 depending on where you find it. i think i paid 960 or so with tax and everything.

  • is that price per rim or for all 4?

  • that was exhaust lol, wheels run about 500 a wheel easy. retail cost on a set of advan tcII's in 18x7.5 is 2600. centers will run you 200 for a set, then the cost of tires. my car is actually for sale now too.

  • dang, i wish i could afford it.

  • how much did this exhaust set you back?? they're not very popular among users. is that cuz they;re a little more expensive? you buy yours online or from a supplier?

  • i want this exact ex system that;s the sound ive been lookin for!! what brand of downpipe did you get?

  • downpipe is stock for now, i have a cobb with a high flow cat sitting in my room lol. i was waiting for the cobb accessport to hit, which it has now. should have it this month sometime. it should keep the same rough sound, perhaps make it a little deeper and a little louder.

    good luck to ya :D

  • Looks and sounds very much like my PERRIN setup! Very nice - almost like your setup a bit better - almost.

  • lol! i damn near went to perrin honestly i loved the look and sound of it too. i am just a giant hks fan so i went this route.

  • does it void your warranty if you put in new exhaust?

  • cat back will not, now if you do a downpipe you might that will just depend on your dealer.

  • i want to put thoes kinda of exhaust on my Subaru legacy RSK b4 '99

  • Sounds like a champion. Guess you get what you pay for, right?

  • Sounds great mate!! I have the Blitz Nur Spec on my Impreza and it's deafening, 109DB!! I've worn ear plugs from work a few times driving home it's that loud!! Happy Motoring!

  • I like those wheels. what kinda are they? They'd look good on my Black LGT

  • the sound is just perfect :)

  • awesome seth, i might have to get this exhaust for my car as well.. lol, where did ya pick it up, same with the tcII's... btw I ended up getting DGM

  • damn sounds nice. is it really that quite? i have a 240sx sr20 with a big exhaust and its so loud!!! i want to get something more quite so cops would get off my ass all the time!?

  • yea its really quiet, it is the "silent hipower" which i think is only offered on a couple cars so far. it has a badge on it called a "Jasma" badge which is some kind of sound regulation, anyways it is supposed to be under 89db wide open throttle. that will give you an idea of how quiet it is.

  • damn thats nice

  • Sounds nice as hell. I couldn't do the can look so I got Xo2 and swapping tips out soon.

  • damn that sounds nice

  • This thing sounds mean...wow

  • i love it, im prob going to get it soon. what does it comewith wehn u bought it, and nice rims

  • you'll get the straight pipe that leads from the cat to the y pipe, and then off to the two mufflers.

also thanks lol they're Advan Racing TCII's

  • Thanks for the video, also suggestions would be great for my 08 limited.

  • Thanks for the video. I'm trying to decide what to put on my '06 and this is pretty helpful.

  • not a problem if you have questions feel free. i know the info on it was pretty limited when i bought it as to what it would sound like and all that, which is why i made the video for others.

  • is that all you have on it

  • yea, currently Cobb hasnt released the Accessport to reflash the ecu or do any tunes what so ever... so that means i am unable to run the up pipe (faster spool on the turbo), or the downpipe (obviously more power). once it does come out though i will be getting it so i can put the two items on should pick up a good chunk of power.

  • sounds awsome man....love your car. When we gonna do some more R6 Vegas? lol

  • lol hey Bo, love your car too man! also i dont care lol i get online now and again and i never see anyone i know on.

  • Nice dude :-) I thought it was an STi. Tee hee...
