  • Amazing video! Really thorough explanations, excellent for those new to HTML5 but who know a lot about HTML old school technologies...

  • A video about HTML 5 and you need flash to play it

  • @virdisingnavjot He's talking about the native browser language that will not need any external tools or software to achieve smarter web interfaces, and yeah this are very good news for front-end programmers and any web developer. This flash web-player playing a HTML 5 video is no irony; it's harder to satisfy cross-browsing with HTML 5 at this moment because a very big number of "internet-navigators" are still ignorantly using old browser versions

  • A video about HTML 5 and you need flash to play it , oh the irony

  • all microsoft employees use them we get an 8% discount from apple actually, the reason we use them is not to do with hardware but software, its all to do with latency, when your working with real time and virual time the latency is crucial, mac os comes in at about 8ms while windows comes in at about 120ms, i use linux when i can as a medium, mint or ubuntu for those of you who are interested in broadening your workspace. we just pop a sticker over the apple sign for good measure

  • please forgive my ignorance, but can someone please explain the main difference between html5 and adobe flash? what sites can i see html5 being used, what do i look for to know its html5?

this video and many other sites has me all confused , its like their speaking another language .

    thanks in advance

  • where is the html5 support!

  • Thanks for upload very interesting.

  • im confused... the channel name is google and it says "Microsoft" on the desk in the beginning and he uses a mac :S

  • HTML 5 is a big thing.

  • How is HTML5 = HTML + ....... ?

  • Very great about html5

  • More pizza! More chairs! More beer! Bitches want to talk.....but I don't care......I tell them to shut their mouth cuz I don't wanna hear.....their dirty ass mouth cuz the smell like a queer.....shave your vagina it has a lot of hair.....don't come close to it you'll be too scared......(Idk what that was I got cartels away)

  • Good introduction to HTML5.

  • so what browser is he using?

  • Hey, I will tell how I generatetons of cash uploading youtube videos. Search for royalty free music. Upload it somewhere safe. Then sign up with bee4biz (Just Google it) and lock the download link with them. Make videos advertising your royalty free download and post protected download link in description. bee4biz pays you each time people complete a survey to unlock your download link. They pay weekly via PayPal.

  • Hello, I will tell how I make some money protecting links and youtube. Find some royalty free tunes. Upload all the stuff somewhere. Then join bee4biz (Google it) and protect your download link. Make videos advertising your royalty free download and post protected download link in description. bee4biz will pay each time somebody completes a survey to unlock your download link. They pay via moneybookers or PayPal weekly.

  • @mitsiee Microsoft doesn't force its employees to use its own products. Everyone at MS is free to use whatever smartphone or OS they like.

  • Oh god how annoying with his "wordification" of contractions.

SQL = sequel, PNG = pings

  • cool #FTW

  • h2:first-child explanation is incorrect. h2:first-child matches all h2 elements that are first child of any other element.

  • waaaaaaiiitttt, so it says "Microsoft" at the desk of that dude, but he uses a mac?

  • @mitsiee He's works at Google not Microsoft

  • @mitsiee and chrome on it :D

  • @mitsiee the guy doest belong to Microsoft, Microsoft Just hosted the event and took a part in supporting this event as other companies did

  • @mitsiee On average, Window users are more open-minded and use varies different operating systems than, let's say, a Mac user would.

  • @mitsiee If you try a mac, you'll never go back

  • @Thomashed15 We have got a lot of Macs at my school, but thank got, I have a windows laptop.

  • @Thomashed15

    i tried that OS

    didnt like it much

not alot of software for it but i used wine when i needed something specific that was for free on windows

its ok but not for me

  • @CRAKIZGOOD That's fair dude, pers i love the Mac, but we're all different, I just don't wanna bitch about what's best like everybody else does, that disc will never end...

  • @Thomashed15 i did and u know what?its so good to be back...home:)

  • @mitsiee Everyone at Microsoft uses Mac, it's better. lol

  • @mitsiee Microsoft must have been co-sponsoring the event. Brad works for Google.

  • @mitsiee I think he is from google.

  • @mitsiee Obviously not his desk but rather the venue podium.

  • @mitsiee HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

  • @mitsiee problem?

  • @mitsiee Mac Hardware with windows on it I bet ;)

  • @FTW

  • Microsoft desk, Apple Computer, Google Conference. If they really unite on HTML5, the web could become really good. #FTW

  • looking forward to sqli

  • # + FTW

  • html5 does look promising, i do really hope all browser vendor make it standard in their browser..i dont like to use all those -moz or -webkit browser specific tag

  • @slier81 -moz and webkit requires me to make additional scripts

  • at first i was like "oh i'll watch this video and i'll go make a sandwitch"

    *looks at video time*

    WTF 50 minutes?

  • @georgidinin you must've been wayy hungry and just slid the slider to the end :P

  • @georgidinin a lot to show I guess :P

  • Please I have made a £50 bet with friend to get a 1000 viewsby the end of the week so may you search me at antonia karamani thanks xx

  • CYANIDE

  • ftw

  • THAT HTML 5 is now so easy. You just have to program what is going on ♥♥

  • what the fak 50 minutes

  • @NFSlegends Of course; the Internet is serious business after all.

  • 14:56 Moss from IT Crowd!

  • its great to see all these companies unitee for making the web a FASTER place

  • Great speaker, good recap/overview of the technology, worth the 50mns time

  • In less than 10 years, people will come up with HTML6 which will strip down many of these things from the HTML spec itself and separate it into another technologies, much like formatting tags and the birth of CSS.

  • #OMG i love html5

  • this isnt in html5 is it?

  • Wow, using fail macs @ a microsoft hosted conference. WTF is with your mind Mr.Presenting_Guy!

  • H5 is garbage. Anything built in Javascript is unfortunately garbage with all due respect. JS is a cheap 2-bit hustler language designed w/ a purpose of rush development, which sits well for small apps but blows up when you code serious LOB apps. Better redesign HTML6 and equip it with a real world serious programming language like Java or C#, or stop trying to fool everyone with such silly "future" backwarded koolaid.

    My honest 2cs

  • @dlmaniac Yeah, but I don't want to just write code 12 hours a day either, that is unjustified because then you do not "Have a Life". My 2cents..

  • @dlmaniac "H5 is garbage. Anything built in Javascript is unfortunately garbage with all due respect" um.. tell us how you really feel! ;) hahah you're prolly right.

  • Isnt it a little ironic that he is using a MAC

  • speeling fail thee, these!!

  • I love microdata? is this the same as: I don't get RDFa? And html5? When will 80% of users' browsers support it? IE9 is now in BETA, when will 80% of the windows users get IE9? In one year? In two years? later?

  • All I can say is AWESOME! I can't believe my eyes. To quote "David After Dentist", "Is this real life? ...Is this going to be forever?" Please do not wake me if it's only a dream.

  • Google FTW!

  • If i had $ 1 000 000.00 I would fly you down here in Montreal to teach me WebGL using canvas. :)

  • so whats good? o-o

  • CSS3 and HTML5 are probably 'God'.

  • @netaneld122 what about HTML5 caching security issues? maybe HTML5 tries to introduce too many things too fast

  • Estupendo !! Ojalá y mejore la estandarización entre navegadores!! Especialmente para IE.

  • They must have hired some guy overseas to do the transcription of this video.

"Mind type" indeed. I believe the correct transcription would read, "MIME type" (as in, Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions)

  • I love connecting with like-minded people. Add me!

  • does someone know what progamming font he's using??

  • @wtffffoO It looks like Calibri.

  • the Chrome Tag concept mentioned in this video was also very controversial, because web developers like Microsoft didn't like the idea of their web browsers behaving like Google chrome. Microsoft fought very hard to get those patents rejected.

  • Google is moving much too fast; you need to stand back and really take a look at things: vivoweb.org uses rdf to embed microcode into markup. It's much better intuitively, and due to its modular nature, increasingly complex associations can be made.

    Example. -

    :Bob rdf:type :Human

    :Quakcy rdf:type :Duck

..in this way, it can be seen that Bob is of type Human. But other associations can also be readily made:

    :Bob rdf:type :OwnerOf

    :Quakcy rdf:type :Pet

  • 50 minutes! F THAT!

  • PHP code monkeys? Isnt it too complex for them?

"who's using jquery? here are your bananas", heh

  • What is this HTML5 or is it Javascript... Why not call it J5 or something like this as this is what a lot of it seems to use fo a lot of it. OK a lot of new tags but what is the point if Browsers can not use it fully?

  • @Films4You HTML5 will give you the static webpage while JavaScript will give you dynamic content

  • Youtube provides knowledge!! Not only cat videos... I LOVE DAT!!

  • HTML5 #FTW !

I'll get beta, right this second! :3

  • ftw

  • bahahahahahaha ... now if Microsoft could only come out with a modern browser to support it w/o numerous code hacks ... bahahahahahaha

  • @AttilaThe1 Internet Explorer 9 actually looks pretty good, don't quote me on that though.

  • What's the syntax for soundrate (pitch) using an audio element? I've been looking everywhere for it. I've tried rate, soundrate, playrate.

Also, perspective is abit slow on the uptake within CSS3. My maze only works on Safari :(

  • Microsoft? WebGL? How is that possible?

  • @Welocy ahaha

  • Comment removed

  • ftw?

  • i cannot imagine if Google, W3C, Apple, Microsoft and related organization go to the same purpose to make a web is anything world. It's gonna be Awesome. .

  • @waisyzun yeah, like the apple html5 demo that only works in safari ;-). they will not work together, they will try to push their own incompatible stuff. history repeats intself...

  • hmm micosoft and he is using chrome...

  • @alililiff he's from google, thats also why hes using a mac

  • Comment removed

  • I hope that the future of the web comply with the regulations of the w3c, because otherwise, we would find ourselves in a total chaos.

  • hey, it's Moss!

  • Of course HTML5 encompasses Javascript & CSS not just HTML tags

  • Microsoft desk, Apple Computer, Google Conference. If they really unite on HTML 5, the web could become really good. #FTW

  • @theKRYZ

Wooden desk, Stoned Computer, Green Conference. No Difference is with same unite.

  • @theKRYZ how you do this "FTW" ?

  • @MaxiKing712 # + FTW = #FTW

  • @theKRYZ cool thanks! #FTW

  • @theKRYZ some one want know how to do this some he do just take a #+an FTW you write after it #FTW

  • So much better than flash

  • Very interesting!!!

  • HTML5 is #ftw

  • Future of the Web - HTML5

  • #FTW

  • 'ironic to see a Mac on Microsoft'

  • @houmanhei and a microsoft video that uses a mac posted on google's channel

  • @houmanhei Thats not a mac ;)

  • How ironic, a video about HTML5 and you can't watch it in HTML5 with the YouTube HTML5 Video Player, message says "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash..."

  • @stayatplay HTML5 for YT already exists and is experimental. Google for "youtube html5" . Not all browsers already support it tho...

  • Great speaker! What I'd like to know is: which "pieces" of HTML5 are supported by which browsers right now. Does anyone have a link with that info?

  • @galapas FLash is not easy indexable, it's not opensource. (flash belongs to Adobe) and Flash generally has a bigger file size.

So. Flash is indeed a great way of making applications. But HTML5+CSS+javascript isn't worse. It's a different way of showing data, a way which is more common.

  • @RvLeshrac You're right! We got to punish our retarded website visitors! Only problem is my employer won't let me do it ^^ (kinda what I said above)

  • @bluefisch200 Thanks for the information :) I know it's wrong to be that harsh to IE, but 80% of my work I'm busy fixing javascripts, CSS and HTML to make sure it works in that browser as well. Not to mention in all versions of it. (Yeah my employer wants everything perfect! haha ^^)

  • 32:50 and 43:50

  • Great walkthrough!

  • Why is Microsoft talking? Shouldnt they be in the audience listening instead?

  • One the most important things of HTML5 is finally art designer and software engineer has the same "communication language" and doesn't have to stick on one company's technology. It is useless to compare whether flash or HTML5 is better, market will let you know the results.

  • This was really instructive!

I'm gonna love the reflection tool...

  • anyone notice the audio being real scratchy on this video?

  • It looks like webgl will not become a w3c standard. That makes me worried. I hope that we will end up with a w3c single standard, so that all web pages end up working on all browsers.

  • HTML5 > Flash

  • @CometLol Flash is a platform, HTML is a markup language.

HTML 5 will never be better than Flash, since most of the features that HTML 5 is experiencing now are present in Flash 10 years ago...

Besides HTML 5 alone does not do anything without javascript, which is a language comparable to the first version of ActionScript (which is version 3).

Say that HTML 5 will be better than Flash is not knowing what is talking about...

  • HTML #FTW

  • Fascinating!!

  • Good time to be a web developer!

  • Worth waiting 10 years for...

  • Awesome stuff!

  • I am Glad I decided To be A web developer

  • IT Crowd!! XD
