Has anyone else noticed that a lot of people with low testosterone are moody, don't have sex, mormons, or other highly religious persons, or they are just full of themselfs in a self hatred type of way. I know you can't talk to a patient this way but i think these are the real reasons why you have this happen, i personally think that not having sex, when you want too, will eventually cause parkinsons because all that wound up energy has no where to go . Anyone else see this?
@Dudelookslikeeylady Testosterone is a steroid. The different between receiving testosterone therapy and taking anabolic steroids is the therapy is meant to put men up to normal levels. The ppl that take it illegally are seeking to enhance. The vast majority of them already have normal levels. I wish I had normal levels.
Dr. Morgenthaler talks about the idea that, with medical help, men of any age can maintain the testosterone levels of healthy young men. That leaves the question of what those levels are. This data comes from a site that addresses men's hormonal health. (The units are nanograms per deciliter, ng/dl)
Dr. Morgenthaler takes the testosterone level in healthy young men (under 40) as an appropriate level for older men too. (Doesn't he?) I like that conclusion. I wonder if more conservative doctors can tolerate or even support testosterone therapy for aging men with suitable blood tests (testosterone, free testosterone, PSA, say) and patients' experience. The evidence than this therapy aggravates prostatic cancer is inconclusive (so far as I know.)
@icelifeguard DHT is 4 times stronger than T. High DHT is good, extremely high DHT is bad (hair loss).

@icelifeguard
