  • I met Julie in 1996 or 97 at the Beverly Garland Autograph shows, I gave her several photos she didn't have and sent some to her in Santa Monica, she was a sweet nice woman. I never knew she battled cancer off and on for so long. She never complained about anything.

  • @DA90027: Thank you. Yes, she never complained once.

  • I knew Julie when she lived in Tecumseh, MI, and I lived in Adrian, MI. We went out together several times. Standing next to her, I was the Ugly Duckling. I have all of her Toledo Blade publicity shots in a scrapbook from the early 1960's. She was a sweet girl who had a troubled childhood. Can't blame her for wanting a career in the fantasy world of Hollywood. I didn't know she died until I just happened to Google her name to see what has happened to her over the years.

  • @TheLaurie70: Thanks for the nice comment. What you probably already know is that Julie never saw you as an "ugly duckling", but a kindred spirit. She was able to see into people's hearts. I would say she enjoyed your company very much. I first communicated with Julie in 1997, and finally met her in 2000, and in a short 3 years later, she was gone. I miss her very much. I'd be interested to see the publicity shots from the Toledo Blade. Maybe they would make a nice addition to her website.

  • @TheLaurie70 You may have the clippings, just give me an address to send them to. We were 19 years old at the time I knew her. I had just graduated from a school in California, and came back to my home town of Adrian. Met her through other friends from Tecumseh. Although she was very beautiful, she suffered from a bad case of acne. This could have been caused by the homelife she told me about. It sounds like she really made something of her life serving others.

  • @TheLaurie70: I sent you a message where to send the clippings. Thank you very much for your kindness and generosity.

  • i never knew thart she was in other films, ive only seen her in good morning world! she was really funny in that, when i found out she died it was quite usetting.

what other films did she do?

  • @callumha1994: Yes, It was a sad day for many people when she left us. She was in the original Nutty Professor (Jerry Lewis), Paradise Hawaiian Style (Elvis Presley), and a host of others. Many TV shows and theater as well. Much of her career is chronicled on her website and the Internet Movie Database.

  • @stanster69 Thankyou, ill have to buy some, lovelytribute by the way

  • Thanks Stan! Julie was a brilliant and beautiful woman, inside and out. And the most fun and outrageous person I'd ever met. I miss her everyday.

  • @drala27: My pleasure! I started talking with Julie around 1997, (I wrote her website for her), and met her 3 years later when she visited New York. She invited me to the NYC Halloween parade. I thought we were just going to watch the parade, but we were actaully in it! Imagine my surprise! She was full of surprises, and one of the nicest people anyone would ever want to meet. I was very lucky. I miss her dearly too. Thanks for your wonderful comment!
