But they do not have a central nervous system. We do not have to be cruel to survive. Ok, so in a sense we humans may be superior. I understand this but I also think that we deserve equal respect. A life is a life for me. It doesn't make sense how certain animals are ok to be eaten while others are not. What makes it ok to eat a frog and disgusting to eat a cat? Or better yet, a pig to a cat? Why is a pig not deserving of life? It breaks my heart to see the death of anything (please don't start with plants). I can't describe the sadness I feel when an animal dies.

About the nature thing, there is a lot of science which suggests otherwise. I would be more accepting of meat eating if humans actually used their hands and teeth to catch the animals and then ate the animal raw. Not all animals are meat eaters either.

Look at africa. the Lions have nothing to fear (than maybe elephants) but they eat anything below them because they are the "king of the jungle" and are on top of the food chain in that area. Same goes with humans, No animals actively "hunt" us. Why wouldwe cath em with our barehands and waste technology? I'd rather be able to eat meat when I want to than having to go on a 5 hour hunt for a squirrel.
