  • My GSD pup is house broken, but the thing is when ever i take him to another place other than my backyard. he won't pee. like i'll take him to my aunt's house for a couple of hours and take him out to pee, but he wouldn't. then when i get home and take him out in my backyard to pee he runs to the grass to pee. any help?

  • boooo

  • So how does this help me to potty train my puppy? This video should have been titled: "Dog Pees".

  • this doesnt show how to potty train a dog all it does is show a dog following another dog

    how stupid

  • This video showed absolutely nothing about "how to train a puppy to go potty". We can't all have friendly adult dogs leading our new puppies around watching them pee (which the puppy didn't even do!). The site may have some info but this video sure didn't!!!

  • this is soo cute!!

  • That is really cool - a really clear example of how puppies (and people) learn. how long did it take Shane to teach Pirate potty training puppies?

  • Hello and thank you for your comment. Pirate was very smart and picked it up quickly.

  • Wow, how cool. Thanks for the reply to my question.

  • How wild. I never knew you could get one dog to follow another dog in that way. Do they do that instinctively?

  • Hello s1monwj - thanks for your comment and question. Dogs are pack animals and, in most cases, the young follow the old. Pirate saw Shane as his old brother and followed him everywhere.

  • That is one gorgeous hound! Love the video...

  • Hello Matt - Thanks for the comment.

  • Like children, I suppose, having a 'big brother" or "big sis" to show you the ropes is such a plus. Lovely to see Pirate looking 'up' and learning how to potty train a puppy from big brother.

  • Hello jonahdw - thanks for the comment. Pirate followed Shane everywhere.

  • What a cute pooch! Potty training a puppy is a chore. Good information is a must.

  • Hello chiroventura - Thanks for the comment. You're right... good information is a must to get started the right way. My blog has helpful articles and videos for potty training puppies. The link is in the top right in the 'more info' box.

  • Love Pirate, he is so cool! I hope you have as good luck as I did training my two puppies.

  • Hello missinglinkvideo - Thanks for the comment. Pirate was a cool and curious puppy.

  • Learning to potty train a puppy isn't as easy as it's cracked up to be. I've trained alot of puppies but it never goes as smooth as I think it's going to be.

  • Hello dgarbacz - Thanks for the comment. You're right... it takes patience and persistence.

  • Pirate is too cute. It's good to have someone older and wiser show a youngster the way.

  • Hello TheSonomaWines - Thanks for the comment. Pirate was cute and curious as a puppy.

  • Pirate is too adorable! On a more serious note, it is so valuable to have a role model to help in training another animal. I work with cats and having a socialized older cat as a role model helps to show the "new" cat how to act.

  • Hello CoronadoCookie - Thanks for your comment. Thank you for sharing your insights from working with cats.
