I'm still a relatively weak player in this, my first let's play series. I am a LOT better in later videos, both in commentary quality and play ability.
It depends on the tiles the city can work. It's closer to a "cottage" than "specialist" based econ, although it's mostly bureaucracy commerce + hammers.
What economy is this are you playing? i dont see farms everywhere. neither do i see cottages. do you have a preference to what type of economy you would like to use or does it depend on the leader's trait and the landscape?
That's research at its finest, right there!

@lufase
Usually the units you station for HR are cheapos like warriors/archers, while offensive units are better at actual fighting.

Great vids, the most annoying thing about automating is when they build forts on specials. Grrr.

Thanks for the tips on automated workers. I’ll try the emphasis buttons with cities.
Wow – I didn’t know we could see what the AI is researching. That was a good move, trading a tech Augustus was pursuing.

I've read a lot of criticism so far in all these videos but I think you are doing pretty good ! Actions speak louder than words

What do you mean with "food city", and "hammer city". You use those words quite often.
MiddleChief 2 years ago
depending on the cities position, you will want to specialize them. food city is one which you want to expand, a hammer city is a production one.

@ThePerusse
yes but, a hammer city needs food right? Then how does it get enough food?
