Great video! I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like FPS games. I don't like FPS games because I like seeing my character, otherwise I don't feel connected with them. With FPS games I feel like I am playing as a floating gun. I couldn't even get into Metroid Prime because I couldn't see my character. So I won't buy an FPS at all, I've tried them and get bored because of the point of view.
Incredible on how much FPS clones each other & bested their market over the top. Now everyone have to be a dedicated fellow of a soldier just because they attempt to be one. i like fps games like HL games or bioshock in terms of single player. They both have more thought in it and they are really long to finish in my point of view they both have puzzles and i usually get stuck. I have problems with FPS games. I get some much headaches, dizziness, nausea and I almost vomit. So, I never liked FPS. I do, however, like Light Gun Shooting games. I know, it's first person perspective, but it's not like I'm moving around.
The reason CoD never improves or changes because they sell a lot every year because it has the CoD label. Too many shooters are now CoD clones. There are only some shooters that are trying to be original. Last generation RPGs were the most popular, and the generation before that had Fighters as the most popular genre of the time. @TH126 I know this is an old comment, but try FPS like Riddick and Metroid Prime (I know it's a tad bit dated). Riddick focused more on stealth and melee than straight up "run-and-gun" and Metroid Prime was more about exploration. The 1st Riddick took place in a prison, the 2nd on a mercenary ship. Prime took place on an alien world. The first two Turok games for the N64 were my favorite FPS.
@a1465 Indeed it was. You should also check out the Darkness if you didn't. It came out about three years ago. I like Halo, but I'll be the first to admit that it kinda stopped FPS in their tracks. Like the last Turok game that came out two years ago. Say what you will about that franchise, up until that one, it had one of the most unique stories and gameplay.
Some people just get games to play online not everybody plays like they did back in the old days when you didn't have cross party chat. Everyday my roomate has his mic in and plays games that play online. But Halo wars is a good strategy game online.

Sony is actually doing alright by making a few different ones too, but Nintendo in particular...knows how to be different. They don't have to conform to the market to be successful, they just have to stand out. Microsoft isn't standing out. It is just recycling the same type of games over and over again on the Xbox 360.
