  • Can you please check out my videos? I'm working really hard at premoting my music, do you guys think i will go far if i keep on working hard?

  • ahahahahah Nickelodeon music, sorry Ryan but that was funny. Nice video as usual!

  • Yes Ryan, thanks a lot. I'm right at the point to start sending some of my tracks to labels. One more tip: start to collab with guys, that already released something but still are at the beginning of their carreer. This is what I'm going to do next :)

  • I actually find these tutorials to be the most helpful. I don't really use synth tutorials since i'd rather develop my own unique sounds but videos like this, which provide advice on how to get by in the industry, are very interesting and useful. Thanks Ryan!

  • @NJmetal94 Hi :D

  • really do love your music and tutorials, absolutely inspirational mate!!

  • this may be a bit dim but should my track be mastered before I sent it out?

  • awesome advice man. Thanks!

  • Hey Ryan, I just got two of my tracks signed and I want to thank you a lot for it. I've just bought all your songs on beatport but I probably would have done that anyway ;) Your tuts really helped me develop my own sound and learn massive and synthesis in general. Keep doing what your doing because you're the next Lazy Rich.

  • This is something that I forgot about and never looked into. Thanks for the tips.

Question though if you were to send demos and lets say the artists only have covers not originals but the music genre is still relevant, does it make sense to send those??

  • you are truly a great guy, and a great musician

  • @robuzy thanks dude!

  • this is very intresting , thank you !

  • I'm probably being totally stupid here but I was asked by 2 much bass records to send a streamable demo to them....what does that mean?

  • amazing

  • I was thinking it would be fun to do a publicity stunt to attract attention... I was aiming for a flash mob rave in times square. new years eve would be prime but I don't know if I have the facilities to give that a go. Maybe in a smaller town...

  • Is it okay to self-release a track first and then get it on a label later or do they usually want something that's exclusive?

  • @priceofsilver if your track does extremely well.. labels will definitely be keen to have piece of it.... but this doesnt happen very often

  • @priceofsilver

    always-alive-recordingsgeneral-label-demo-submission/

judging by what Daniel Kandi said here every label wants exclusive stuff :P

  • good people like you are hard to find bro. don't ever change :)

  • nickelodeon music xDDD

  • cheers Ryan, i got signed way too early before i found my sound. so i don't recommend getting signed until your making the same sounding music consistently.

  • @jojo191519 whats wrong with being signed early? lol i got signed at 17.... track was terrible..so i just changed my artist name.. for a fresh start...

  • @KennyParkz im doing the same thing, but im not putting our releases till im happy with the tracks

  • Wise words! Thanks Ryan!

  • Do you Do any live shows?

  • @billzaink the only live i do is djing mate :-)

  • There's a reason this has no dislikes dude. Big up!

  • I bought your song to support,

  • I actually wanna make Disney music but they don't answer me.

  • Hey Guys

  • Just stopping by to let you know that I've talked to MULTIPLE artists who have been on the Beatport top 20 that say they learned how to use massive from your tutorials. Thanks so much for everything you do man, you're the best.

  • Thanks so much Ryan. You're awesome.

  • Thumbs up for Nickelodeon Music.

  • Thank you! your one of the only artist that truly likes to help others

  • @davidgtr I sure do! It will work in my favour big time very sooon :-) thanks dude

  • @nzmusic101 Yea I noticed how it helped you and I started giving away free tracks and presets and I just signed 8 tracks to undertechnical recording most of them in the style of complextro so thanks for the tutorials

  • @davidgtr congrats dude!

  • More videos like this one when you just talk about important stuff!

  • Really good advice Ryan, The first part is exactly what I did to get signed, also to the people asking about what happens once your signed, it all depends on the label. I really like my label and they've basically said send us all your new stuff and we'll probably release it, if for whatever reason they don't, I can go elsewhere with it, as long as the release dates don't clash etc, It's all in the contract.

  • hey ryan, just thought id say that you helped me get my lmfao remix from 200 views to 1000 views just by replying to one of my comments a while ago xD thanks for that, even if you didnt even mean to :P

  • @AstrioOfficial haha nice! im gonna go ahead and say im sure i meant too :-)

  • @nzmusic101 i see. thank you very much :)

  • cheers mate, i think every1 will just contact Skrillex's label though because evry1 wants to be like that haha

  • I legitimately have a favourites folder at the top of my Firefox window dedicated solely to saving your most helpful videos. Thanks champ!

  • @GhostOfMeOfficial haha good on ya mate :D

  • Just wanna say thanks for all your tutorials mate, extreamly helpful

  • THIS WAS MY IDEA :D

  • THX SO MUCH! :) You are great because this is a very good and important topic!!

    greets =)

  • awesome advice man! seriously inspirational, what would be your main tip on like promoting music on youtube, im finding it quite hard to get it out there, Im aiming for a signed release by halfway through next year and im hoping to have a loyal fanbase similar to yours by then

  • very useful information. Thanks a tun.

  • so do you sign some sort of contract with a label if they like what you produce or is rather like "ok, these guys published my last song, I'll send them the next one, too, because they know me already and chances are higher they will publish it"?

Also, how does it work to have multiple labels, are there problems, things to look out for? thanks

  • @Xo1ot1 Yes there are contracts to sign. But with EDM very rarely does it mean that you MUST release every track exclusively through them. You can usually sign your tracks to as many labels as you want :-)

  • @nzmusic101 this is ur 100th video! :D haha

  • Where your accent is from?

  • @chei1 From way down under in New Zealand! what you think of the accent? haha

  • @nzmusic101 Oh great I was just curious, I like english and I never heard this accent so.. Anyway I'm italian and my accent really sucks so I really don't think anything about your lol.

  • Great choice of topic! Very helpful. :3

  • @AliPearceMusic cheers bro :D

  • why try and get signed if u don’t have a following? get a following and work on your music and the signing & sales will come later.

  • this helped immensely. Golden advice man, thanks a bunch.

  • @Rusty511 always a pleasure dude

  • Hey Ryan, you said that once you get signed things become easier? What sought of things become easier? :)

Im not questioning you if you, im just wondering haha, if you know what i mean :)

  • @Magnifikate labels will take you more seriously once you have had releases on other labels - especially releases that chart in the top 100..then your really sorted haha :D

  • @nzmusic101 thanks so much man! :) great help, and awesome video :)

  • i LOVE you for this, ryan. ive been waiting for this video for, like, 8 million years

  • thanks.

but, why is the label cares if you're known(facebook likes, soundcloud plays...)?

the whole purpose of signing is to became publicized, isn't it?

  • thank you very much ryan this has helped me out a lot!!

  • Nice Vlog thing, you're good at talking :P

  • @evercoop haha thanks dude

  • @nzmusic101 im currantly 17 and ive been fooling around on fruityloops for about a year now, also followed your tutorials, which taught me alot as i know nothing of music.

my 'dream' is to one day release at least one song :P when i'm ready i think i'll join the forums on ryanenzed, yes definitely.

i have a question, im wanting to buy a laptop, as my 'studio', is this a good idea? and i'll be using ableton live i think, do you think it would be a good idea to get a windows-pc or mac book? :O

  • @evercoop always a mac

  • @Phreakshow91 hmm, is this because of the quality of music it can produce? and what do you think about ableton live?

  • @evercoop the quality can be the same on windows, but I guess the workflow is much faster (I can only compare my mac with my old windows PC and not a very fast one). ableton live is a great tool.

  • @Phreakshow91 Ah, also macbooks aren't as vunerable to viruses.. will there be a major set down to using a mac-laptop rather than desktop for producing? thanks phreakshow91

  • @evercoop It's all relative. If you bought any desktop, Mac or Windows, and it was less powerful than a Macbook Pro (don't go for a Macbook Air, if you ask me), then the laptop would be the best solution. If you got the mid-range Macbook Pro (15 inch with 2.2 GHz quad-core), you would really have to run it hard before it ran out of processing power. The same would go for a Windows laptop - If it has enough power, then it should be alright. The only bad thing might be how hot they can get.

  • @leunamneb Thanks Leunamneb, macbook airs are the paper thin ones, i would never buy that haha. thank you for helping me :)

  • @evercoop i think if i had the money atm, id personally be going mac :)

  • Hey Ryan, what part of Auckland you in?

    awesome vids man.

    the tuts really helped me!

  • Cheers!

  • you should like me, help me out facebook/viennaedm
