Im glad some one got a recording of him singing that song, He didnt sing this song very much and when he did some times he would stop half way threw it because he would tear up. I had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing him play live (including this song). My uncle was the drummer so I got to go in the tour bus and talk with the band, was a wonderfull experiance and I will chearish it always. He was truly a leagend of country music, and now he is with his brother may they rest in peace.

I was there for that and it was heartbreaking. I'm glad I found this and thank you for posting this.
It was an honor to meet Charlie and to get his autograph on his new CD.
Thanks again for this memory.

Ira was one of the deepest, most complex personalities in all of Country Music...he had many inner conflicts going on within him.

Ira was one of the best harmony singers ever and great on lead too. A rare voice.
