lol huckabees defense is like saying "i hate niggers" then pointing out some african americans usage of the word and using it as justification for his own usage
"Ick factor" is thinking about Huckabee trying to copulate with anything...blehhhhh.
His defense of using the phrase is rather lame. The "ick factor" is used by LGBT commentators to describe heterosexual aversion to homosexuality not their own feelings. That is the difference that should have been pointed out to Gov. Huckabee.
There is only ONE side who doesn't want their discussion brought into the public square. And that side is the bigot side. The side that goes to court to hide their identities. The side that goes to court with after-the-fact rationalizations of their laws. The side who refuses to subject their claims to rigorous analysis.
Huckabee is doing some nice deflection, but the problem isn't his choice of term "ick factor" or whether LGBT people use that term. It's the intent behind it.
@Blairtim69 Gov. Huckabee has compassion for and love for all people but his religious point of view is marriage is between one man and one woman. As he said, it is not an important issue for him, but when asked, he tries to answer honestly...more than I can say for most politicians. He is certainly not for denying you any rights. I hope you will keep an open mind towards him because, he has the right ideas for taking our country back to it's greatness!

@revtj Thanks for the comment, the correction and the suggestion to Google Nussbaum. Being called an idiot - - that I never enjoy.

Huckabee illicits a "distusting old white trash factor".

Huchabee missed the point being made.
It is not the phrase he used, it's the fact that the first thing he thinks of when gay rights are brought up is what we do in the bedroom.
Why can't these people keep their minds out of the gutter.
I am a gay man. I want the right to marry, serve my country, work, occupy, and receive services, without discrimination.
What I do or don’t do in the bedroom is irrelevant to the rights I deserve and demand
