  • I RECALL HOW QUICK DR DREW had diagnose BRITNEY. This is what they do guys. watch out if you are in any situation no matter how minor. . They want you to make one mistake. They ignore all possible reasons, and say she was born with MASSIVE BIOPOLER DISORDER and she should be forced into long treatment. his reason she was not thinking. she was hounded 24/7 for like a year. they dont care. she did some acting out. They say she lost it. that what they do. These guys are MONSTERS!

  • theres no proof that britney was on drugs...shes probly was just depressed an is biploar!

  • I'm sorry to hear that about the Australian approach to using Lithium. Again, lithium should be monitored or else it can reach toxic levels in the blood. Again too, I am an American, living in the States. I've never been to Australia so I cannot speak for how doctors down there operate. They may very well be using it inappropriately. But if they are, that is wrong. The drug itself is not evil; it's misuse is. Misuse is what should be combated.

  • Well, I don't know the laws in Australia, but in America, I used to work as a lab technician and I ran labs on serum for Lithium. We do monitor that here in the states. If it's not monitored somewhere, legislation should be passed to change that. As for the crime in the area surrounding a particular doctor, correlation does not equal causation. To actually make this point, one would need to survey more than one doc's area, and even then, that's not "proof." There may be a third (or more) factor.

  • ; I stopped going to counselling when I discovered my counselor attends the same Church as certain other persons, I won't name, whom were gossiping about my concerns, and considered themselves outside patient-doctor confidentiality because they were in a religious building. Oh, yes, that was the excuse given to me before I quite that quack, and separated myself from the toxic gossipers. Please don't consider religion as a cure.

  • this guy doesn't know very much.

  • Psychiatry = death. so called psychiatry, doctors from hell allmost killed me,than i stoped taking the poisen pills they gave me and i came to life again and i'm happy ever since.IT WAS THE HARDEST THING TO ESCAPE FROM THERE HANDS.I FELT LIKE I WAS IN NAZI CAMP EVEN WORSE, AT LIST IN A NAZI CAMP YOU HOPE YOU'L DIE SOON IN PSYCHIATRY THEY TORTURE YOU NONSTOP.I THANK GOD FOR TAKING ME OUT OF THERE. NOW I'M HAPPY HEALTHY AND FULL OF LIFE. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO.

  • I'm confused why someone would have both Hydro and Oxy-codon in their system. Would a doctor prescribe both tylenol and aspirin based pain killers? crazy

  • Well, oxycodon & hydrocodon are analgesics; not benzodiapenes. It's not all psychiatry's fault.

And bipolar disorder is heavily influenced by genetics. Every time the patient cycles, there's more brain damage. The aim of meds is to stabilize mood (prevent cycling). Lithium, for example, has been shown to decrease suicide rates.

Some people have terrible experiences with mental health professionals. But PLEASE don't use a broad brush. There are plenty of people who are genuinely helped too.

  • @GoodMonster786 I know right! This man (who is a psychologist NOT a psychiatrist) has no idea what he's talking about! He can't even pronounce the drugs correctly.

  • @whitemongolian Well, even most psychologists I know would agree that medication in CONJUNCTION w/ psychotherapy is often a good approach. There are even some M.S. programs now that clinical psychologists can go into in order to get licensed to write prescriptions for psychotropic meds. So I would say that the view point that all psych. meds are bad is not even mainstream for psychologists. But yes, agreed. You can't make judgments on what is not biological if you don't 1st know biology.
  • @GoodMonster786 Lithium? Suicide rates? Have you considered that they might not suicide because they're already good as dead inside? I see Lithium used here in Australia as a *long-term* "treatment" method. It's simply disgusting!!!!! There is one local doctor who has ruined more peoples lives then anyone else I've ever been exposed to. Arrests need to be made. This style of "medicine" need to be stopped.

  • @mryellow123 Again, I am going off of research. Not anecdotes. If you want to make a case that "psychiatry is murder" and Lithium is the devil, you're free to your opinions. But I don't have to take this as "fact." And I won't call for arrests based on opinions. Studying history, that never turns out well. I will simply state that current science supports the use of lithium to treat such patients, rather saying problems aren't there, or blame shifting to the helping professionals.

  • @GoodMonster786 The current international recomendations for the use of Lithium are not observed by the doctors I see using it here in Australia. They simply apply a "standard" dose and adjust by based on the physical reactions of the patent rather then any kind of titration.

The way Lithium is used in Australia is abusive.

  • Keep in mind that people usually prefer simple answers (especially in difficult matters and/or gray areas), answers that give them a sense of power/control (I'm not sick; it's the evil doctor; I have control as long as I put down the doctor who made up this silly disorder), and people almost always prefer to shoot the MOST VISIBLE target. If I'm upset about something, why feel powerless or blame the (abstract) universe? I can blame and shoot the doctor--a human. I can see him, and protest to him

  • @GoodMonster786 Oh and this doctor that likes his Lithium....... 3 block radius of his clinic...... 10x the avg murder rate..... Sends them out the door with no further care except for "Stop taking this and you'll go crazy".

  • @GoodMonster786 Furthermore, Lithium is administered without any monitoring of serum levels and no proper dose adjustment. This should not be standard practice...........

  • @mryellow123 Well, as far as I know there is A LOT of monitoring with lithium. The Dr. I know have to do blood level tests every few days.

@topic: The Body and mind is one thing: Biochemistry. Some people are just ill, it is like every other physical illness, too.

And there are a lot of "ex-suicidal" people who are happy these "jailers" hold them against their will for a while and helped them.

  • @meggaiwa The local clinic has been cleaned out of all the old staff, some bad doctors, rapists nurses etc, it seems they now do weekly blood tests with lithium. An improvement, but still just an industrial age management solution.

  • @mryellow123 Well thats better. But lithium is not candy.... it has heavy side effects for some/most people, and normally it should only be given if the patients were resistant to other treatments, and normally it's not given alone.

Many patients just try to cure themselves with pills, but are not interested in therapy or the reasons for their depression (schizophrenia is different, it's 100% physical). And some docs are okay with prescribing stuff every 6 weeks in 10min sessions ... =/

  • @meggaiwa It's pretty much first port of call here, in combination with others. Not so much patients choice as strategic management of problem people. They just spend 2 weeks making a person compliant then send them off to sit indoors and not bother too many people. Those who then go off the meds end up in jail or dead.

  • @mryellow123 Well, if thats the choice, not going off the meds is better, right? People who are a danger to others or themselves sometimes have to be forced to take them. And Millions are happy after it, when they got better - most get better.

It's not like people get "addicted" to the meds or they change the brainchemestry in a bad way.

It's not like ppl in a closed psychiatric ward are chained to their beds. They to therapy (single and group), do stuff, have visitors, often can leave, ect..

  • @meggaiwa I can't agree. They do change the chemistry in a bad way. In a way which blocks finding actual non-medicated balance. There is no turning back once you've been hit in the head with these sledge hammers.

  • @mryellow123 The chemistry is not working before, otherwise these people wouldn't be sick. And without meds you can't change brain chemistry. No matter how much therapy and good will, you can't change the dopamin (part of schizophrenia) and serotonin (depression).

And not everything is the same... for example, there is a HUGE difference between oxi, SSRI's, lithium, Xanax ect. They have nothing in common. And most patients stop to take them, when they got better.

  • @meggaiwa It seems to me in most cases the chemistry is only a short-term issue which is turned into a life-long issue by complicating the whole process with brutal meds.

It is very much possible to change dopamin and serotonin levels without meds. To suggest otherwise shows a complete miss-understanding of what our bodies are capable of. Exercise and meditation have no effect on brain chemistry? righto....

  • @mryellow123 Well, just untrue. These meds exist how long? And before people with schizophrenia and depression had their illness not their whole life, it just disappeared (which is false obviously).

Meditation: It changes brainwaves. It can't magically "make" hormons and neurotransmitters or make them disappear. Or can meditation heal diabetes ect. too?

So, you would say: If somebody hears voices, has hallucinations, is violant and a danger to others and himself: Just meditate?

  • @meggaiwa Are you saying trying to calm your mind and stop the loops is a bad thing for people experiencing this kind of thing? ok..... whatever mate... I wasn't using meditation example as some kind of automagic.

Would you say exercise has no benefit to brain chemistry also?

  • @meggaiwa oh and yes.... the mind can help trigger the body to produce hormons, neurotransmitters and make them disappear.... If you think the mind doesn't effect brain chemistry then whatever you do, never think of a sexy woman.

  • @meggaiwa To answer your question of "What they did before".... It was called an "Epiphany", young people going through this were seen as being touched by god and were brought into the church and I guess you could say cared for. Still happens today in any major city. For many thousands of years it was seen as a gateway from childhood to adulthood and even induced with hallucinogens.

  • @mryellow123 And if they were violent ect. they were chained to a bed and a few hundret years before that, they were just killed or left in a forrest because they thought they were touched be the devil or demon, not god.

I do understand your point of view, but the most majority is thankful for the meds, because they help them. And in 90% they don't take them "forever". Nobody is forced to take any medication at all, as long as they are no danger. They take them, because they want to get better.

  • God?

  • omg I love you Heath Ledger. :( Rest In Peace...Heath I love you! DX

  • these celebs are all under mind programming they are all manchurians.

  • we need more like Breeding,,,I worked in Mental Health for 10 years and I learned the staff members are sicker then the patients and much more dishonest. These people took it personal when their clients fell off the wagon,,,like drug abuse is a choice... and the counselor would punish clients ,,,it all made me sick. There was this idea that you could punish a person into abstenence,,,it was bizarre

  • Dr. Breeding, thank you very much for sharing this information. Its very shocking that these doctors are no less than street drug dealers. Dr Breeding, how do we stop this over prescription of psychotropic medications. DR, BREEDING PLEASE SPEAK OUT LOUD ON THIS ISSUE, FOR OUR CHIDLREN'S SAKE . we must stand together and fight this issue and stop blaming the drug addict.

  • Obviously this was made before the death of Michael Jackson.

Over prescription of psychotropic medications is without question.

However, don't you think that the fact that these celebrities have a huge financial power, that allows them to pay off physicians to prescribe whatever drugs they wish, is a factor?

Thus, they subvert the usual medical checks and balances that are put in place to protect the patient.

Michael Jackson virtually owned his physician who is now on a homicide charge...

  • I hate psychiatry, I got involved with it in past iv'e taken differant drugs like antipsychotics, ssri's and other drugs which all messed me up.

  • I wish this guy would talk about borderline personality disorder

  • I agree, people need to listen more and care about others and what they are struggling with rather than supress all their pain and anguish with psych meds. Although I think that sometimes when things are really bad it can be a short term life saver and buy a person time untill they can reach the people they need to help them.

  • Abusing it like Ledger did is dangerous. Who in their right mind would take Percocet,Vicodin, Valium, Xanax, and I heard Ambien all at one time? I take Percocet for my back and knees. They actually help me to function so I wouldn't be so quick to judge pain medication. I couldn't function before I started taking it. I wouldn't take pain meds out of fear. I wish I hadn't been affraid. I wouldn't have wasted a lot of time by staying in bed and thinking of suicide.

  • im anti pain management quit taking your meds. u dont need them like these other claim they need their psychiactric meds

  • 20 to 25 years less, that sucks for me.

  • I had a real go-around with psychiatry until I got scarred enough to get clear away from them and their wack-o ideas and treatments that had me at one point drooling from my mouth unawared. I swear they made me think I was sick so they could make money of me as I got worse. Stay the hell away from them and take care of yourself. God never made a mentally ill person but those wack-o drugs will make you sick alright.

  • you're an angel Dr. Breeding!!!!

  • I mourned the loss of heath ledger so bad because of the FACT that it was the drugs that drove him to die.

  • someone I know has been in the same condition, forced to take drugs and that person has died very fast, it was a very unfortunate event. What would a family of a person in mental condition do, when they don't know how to cope with sometimes strage behavior - they would trust doctors, and clinics.. who in the end, as is suggested drive the person to death with drugs. It is awful, but what would a family do otherwise? What should have been done?

  • Have you ever known of any successful treatment by psychiatry? What are your thoughts on neurology and neuroscience?

  • I have felt a lot of concern for Brittany also. I hope the pressure of celebrity and fame do not do to her what it has done to others..May she find a healthy alternative to dealing with her status. I think a lot of the celebrity construct should be done away with and that some of that energy should be transferred to average people who want to have a life of meaningful artistic practice and cultivation.

  • This is a very important video. I was tortured by psyciatrists when I was in the hospital for bipolar and ocd. The drugs made me worse rather than better and made me more delusional, more paranoid. Nurses mocked patients and I was basically left for hell. TFrom January to mid April I basically slept my life away and had no relatiosn with my parents whom I live with. Psyciatry is the most dangerous form of medicine in the world in my honest opinion.

  • very boring video

  • I have made a complet recovery fon 14 years of Bipolar, and it was many issues, never ever mental illness. I believe it is so with many.

Heath Ledger was given many duplicating prescriptive medications, and his body exausted from his work, and life style[he had just made a trip to Au] just wanted to sleep.

He kept taking pill after pill to acheive sleep, and his lungs just signaled, "you do not have to breathe any more".

  • The psychiatrist I was seeing at one point in my life! "I asked him about the brain" he replied it's not my field! But "what is then"? Whoops! Sorry I forgot they get taught how to prescribe medication and get paid mega bucks for it! There's no science behind that except fraud!

  • wow

  • Pinky: Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?

Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky . . . Try to take over the world!

    They're Pinky and The Brain,

    They're Pinky and The Brain,

One is a genius; the other's insane.

    To prove their mousey worth,

    They'll overthrow the earth.

They're dinky; they're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain.

  • I never had heard the exact mix of drugs Heath had. Either he was unbelievably naive, or that was no accident (like the news tried to make it look).

  • Once you take Heroin, after a while, you can't stop or you will seriously die I think.

  • check this video out: No Science - No Cure

  • thanks depstd, and thanks psychtruth. the "cure" is in your family and friends.

  • Great video!

Psychiatry should be seperated from hospitals and health care. Of course, the best thing would be if it ceased to exist.

  • I want to recommend this guys videos- if you type britneyzian prophecy in the search box it gets you to them. I really thought they were amazing.

  • i was going to call dr. breeding's comments brilliant - but it is actually common sense.

which i guess indicates where we are at as a culture...

  • I am tired of it as well Dr. Breeding! Keep yelling!

  • If she could get a handle on her drug and alcohol use, get plenty of healthful foods (fruit, vegies, grains-lots of Omega-3 fatty acids)and time in a trully restful environment Britney could be okay. Good food is so important in being well.

  • you are right

  • your so right. i wish the best for britney!

  • I disagree koalman. How can they get a "hand on it" when they have become addicts? Once addicted the addict has permanently altered the way their percieves pleasure. This means simply NO DRUGS!!

  • Well dopefiend that is exactly what I mean by getting a handle on their substance abuse. Having been sober for a number of years now myself I feel qualified to speak about getting a handle on one's substance abuse because a handle is what you use to close the door on that crap. The world is full of things that effect the chemical makeup of the brain. Omega-3 fatty acids have been seen to have beneficial effects on the behavior of alcoholics in studies done in Great Britain. Check it out.

  • With that clarification...I agree with the rest of your recommendations!

  • I agree w/ u. Challenged with big life issues, I was overwhelmed. It drove me to socio-economic devastation. I then cried a river. Wounded & broken in spirit, I stayed away from doctors. Now, a better & stronger person,I vowed to stay happy no matter what life has to offer. Like yourself, I do feel for all the Britneys out their in this world. I would like to be able to share my life story someday and perhaps be able to help someone.

  • I'm glad that a professional within the psych "buisness" is saying these things.. I have always suspected that long term use of any kind of drugs, especially prescription ones, shortens the life expectency..

It bothers me also when people within psychitry will debate with "chemical imballence" and "quality of life" when so many of these drugs have devistating side effects.. its really difficult for me to believe that many of the symtoms are NOT the drugs.

  • There are not enough doctors like you. Far too many hand out drugs as if they were candy.

  • Thank you, Doctor. I just love your common sense. I would like to see a return of common sense in the medical and psychiatric communities, and listening to someone like you is encouraging. I was nodding and saying "Exactly!" through the whole video lol. :)

  • This is more or less on topic- but how do you feel about taking psychotropic shrooms. Does prolonged use of mushrooms cause one to loose touch with reality? Or what negative outcomes or side effects can come from prolonged use?

    Thanks,

    Peace!

  • Don't forget every single school / mall shooting is done by someone on these drugs.

  • It's only about 2/3rds of the shooters actually. But it's most of them.

  • @psychetruth Reverse causality. Did they do what they do because of the drugs, or do mentally very ill people take the drugs, just BECAUSE they are sick.

In other countries and times where mentally ill people didn't get drugs (just because they didn't exist then and there) stuff like this happened, too and still does.

These drugs help a lot of people with depression, schizophrenia, ect. Without them they were never able to lead a normal life.

  • @meggaiwa I've seen a few of these from the perspective of "before all hell broke loose". Most of the time the person does an ok job of managing their own head up to the point they are knocked off the planet with drugs which destroy all chance of their chemistry balancing itself. 2 weeks after being scheduled and put on the standard cocktail they decide they don't want to be on "these horrible drugs" anymore, go off them, and become a crazy person.

  • @mryellow123 Well, I saw a lot of people with depression and schizophrenia who did not so good on their own (and legally it HAS to be really really bad for a compulsory treatment). They tried to kill themselves, were a danger to others, heard voices and were paranoid (a few thought the neigbhours or people from an "agency" had their home bugged, and would watch them all the time).

And yeah, many of them didn't want to take the medication, because they felt numb. But whats the lesser evil?

  • @Ballsakkie

Done by somebody under mind control whose trigger has been activated

  • Hydrocodone really works for sleeping and shit but it should be used very sparingly. I kind of think of celebrities as the most exposed to heavy materialism, and if they don't deny the lack of meaning and bullshit, they end up getting pretty messed up very quickly because everything is shoved in their face at a much higher potency than even us. And I thought I was pissed off at modern society. Of course, most don't have the maturity (yet) to deal with this which makes it confusing and difficult.

  • so? if you had that many smart things to say you might need notes too.

  • Why are you asking that question? Are you trying to distract from the brilliant truths he's speaking?

  • hiccups!

  • So why are you asking that question? Are you trying to distract people from his powerful message.

  • What is your purpose for asking that question?

Are you trying to distract people from his powerful message?

  • you are so wise!I had been coerced into psychiatry and forcibly drugged.Thankfully I pulled through it and am now psych drug free for for over 14months.I have never felt more real. However I am still fearful of being forced into it again simply becos of the label.

  • A friend told me that medical doctors on average live only to age 57 due to stress, lack of sleep, and abuse of self-medication. That would correspond to the USA Today quote Dr. Breeding mentioned (Those being treated by psychiatrist prescribed drugs losing 25 years of life)

  • Drugs are ruining are youth!

This is a great video. Lets all start setting an example to our youth. There is already enough self destruction going on in the world we live. We should rally and stand up for what is right. Many a strong person has told their story of how they went off course, so that others may live.

-Drugs Kill, Like Guns, just more slowly.

  • I was interested what your position would be on all this, thanks for talking about it. Anna Nicole's son also died from a bad combination of meds.

  • lunesta works every day without fail, been taking it for years and it's effect has yet to lessen

  • i'm schizoaffective and am on a total of 5 medications. what is the procedure for weening myself off these drugs? thanks in advance. peace

  • find a doctor that can support you nutritionally and that can detoxify you.Your symptoms will decrease and you can get off the drugs. You need a doctor that knows how to interpret a hair mineral analysis.

  • Probably should discontinue one drug at a time, and only make 5-10% reductions at a time. If done too quickly, the rebound effect (aka withdrawals) can be horrendous. Nutritional support is good advice, but I wouldn't do a detox for quite some time. The drugs will leave your body too quickly.

  • Yeah, sounds smart. Don't do it too rapidly. Withdrawal is horrible. I did it foolishly but never realized it until later.

  • find a naturopathic doctor!

  • Listening to Dr Breeding videos as helped come to terms with my schizophenia diagnosis. The drugs don't work like normal meds but i think they have helped me come through a bad time.I don't take meds now because the side effect out wade the benefits.I feel for Britney i'm not suprised she run down shes not a money making machine shes a real person with feelings.I hope someone tells Britney about this video before its too late for her.

  • If I owned youtube I would feature this video. I think that Dr Breeding would help Brittney Spears a lot more than Dr Phil.

  • I really enjoyed this video. Never thought of the "jailor" verses "helper" paradox you mentioned.

  • Excellent video and very relevant. The case of Britney Spears is beyond disgusting. Here is a woman at a life low following divorce, hounded by the paparazzi and the media and not allowed to heal and come to a place of peace through talk and councilling. Probably the LAST thing she needs is to be photographed being strapped to a bed carted off to mental institutions. Just horrible. Good video Dr Breeding.

  • Very interesting!!!
