i really hate the tiny little midget race, always hated gnome type races in mmos. its seriously dumb how they have the same or higher hp/stats as a massive char or a human. however thats gonna bug me, this game will still 100% kick ass

I mean I've heard that....and I admit I've only played a few weeks of the game, but you never hear about the lore of the game so much as raid #87875....Anyway all I can do is say check out the GW2 wiki, there are pages and pages of lore right ups, and even a few books on sale. If it is "good"...well that is subjective. I like the lore, but I can't say you will.
When this releases it will be 2nd most popular. I really believe it will beat SW:TOR as SWTOR is mainly aimed at Star wars fans. All the people actively interested in star wars were the pre-orderss. GW2 will continually gainm players as (like WoW) it's plain fantasy.

The real reason this game is pronounced "Already Dead" is because people who play WoW and have started playing SWTOR want to believe they haven't wasted their time and money on the games as the will so be dead themselves. WoW is actually dying already.
GW2 is going to plain and simply demolish and pulverize all of the other existing mmos out there. It is by far the most promising game I've ever seen.

@iDwarfz (for clarification) and (more so towards) @2GamingSwedes : Games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield DO NOT fall under the category of MMO. They are missing the first "M" for "Massive". Last time I checked, 32 ( or 64 for Battlefield PC people) players is not "Massive." The only FPSMMO's, I am aware of ( and I admit I could be wrong) would be the Planetside series, Firefall, and (stretching it a lot) MAG for the PS3 (Max of 256 players at one time on two different maps.)

@TheCostran29 When I said "game" I meant within the MMO genre since I was on the topic of mmo's. However, in my opinion it still stands as most promising game, but this is my opinion and I am not trying to force it on anyone else.
@KinTheHusky It's going to be completely different than any other "MMO", almost not even a true MMO. I can see many current MMO players being turned off by how simple the mechanics will be, no raids is going to be a huge let down for most. I don't see GW2 even competing with traditional MMOs honestly, more so with games like Diablo 3. That being said it does look great.
@CasepbX That's just the thing, it's not like other mmos who NEED raids and such to survive. It's a completely different kind of mmo which is going to redefine how we view the genre. @CasepbX PS: Guild Wars 2 does have "raids." They are called "Dynamic Events" and thankfully, you can enjoy these right from entering the game. This gets rid of grinding to the top level with countless hours trying to kill the same mob to get a specific armor drop so I can join a team to do said raid. Now I can enjoy the fun roles of the raid and not worry about me getting into a team because I am not wearing Tier 10 armor >.<
@theoperator288 Sorry to burst your bubble but dynamic events aren't raids. There are no raids in GW2 - only 5 man dungeons but they are very difficult (apparently) so i guess you could look at them as raids. Dynamic events are more like world events / bosses

Arena net have said they don't want to have 'end-game', the game shouldn't drastically change at max level and become something different. In GW2 you can enjoy every feature at every level - of course dungeons and areas will require certain levels but that is to be expected and doesn't go against what they stated.

@StarlightDragon You buy the box and can play forever, no sub fees. They do have microtransactions but those are completely superfical and don't cripple the game. Typically anet comes out with an expansion every 6 months to a year, hope that helps.

You mention why you would want to not choose the asura (the small people) race, the bounding box for them is the same for all of the races. and for the most part you don't click to target a play. Skills are Area based, attacking with a sword for example can hit multiple enemies. The focus has been turned away from mouse control for combat, making it user friendly.
A casual audience would mean watered-down content, and the old fans would be pissed.
I'm saying this because people like Simon are the definition of casual.
I don't mean this as an insult, being casual is not necesarilly bad, but it gets really annoying when the community is filled with incompetent players or people that don't pay attention to the metagame.

@sharku57 On the other hand, the difficulty of the content combined with a good curve could train bad players into good, I don't think it'll be watered down since there seems to be content for everyone :p

Don't understand why people are already pronouncing Guild Wars 2 dead already becuase "it can't beat WoW/Swtor." @Ilumeo As far as we actually know... nothing. It is doing away with the holy trinity, the weapons you choose to use and the combinations are very important to your combat... Their underwater combat is suppose to be revolutionary, since it takes advantage of the z axis. Oh and the fact that there are no static quests, everything is dynamic similar to the rifts in Rift, but with multiple stages. Also the quests all scale depending on the number of players in the area.
@Koniassu Everyone can heal/tank, no dedicated healing class/tanking class. There you go. So basicly instead of teh traditional one person run up to a big ass monster and take all the damage, players will now all use their abilities and tricks on the monster, not easy to explain in words. Shame on Arenanet for being unclear with it.
I'm not saying they aren't making it for good pc's either. It's the fact people with bad ones are flipping out cause they are scared they won't be able to play it. I just wanted to explain you probably can play it on a sucky pc or laptop.

@StarlightDragon You buy the box and can play forever, no sub fees. They do have microtransactions but those are completely superfical and don't cripple the game. Typically anet comes out with an expansion every 6 months to a year, hope that helps.

You mention why you would want to not choose the asura (the small people) race, the bounding box for them is the same for all of the races. and for the most part you don't click to target a play. Skills are Area based, attacking with a sword for example can hit multiple enemies. The focus has been turned away from mouse control for combat, making it user friendly.

I don't mean this as an insult, being casual is not necesarilly bad, but it gets really annoying when the community is filled with incompetent players or people that don't pay attention to the metagame.

@Ilumeo As far as we actually know... nothing. It is doing away with the holy trinity, the weapons you choose to use and the combinations are very important to your combat... Their underwater combat is suppose to be revolutionary, since it takes advantage of the z axis. Oh and the fact that there are no static quests, everything is dynamic similar to the rifts in Rift, but with multiple stages. Also the quests all scale depending on the number of players in the area.

@Koniassu Everyone can heal/tank, no dedicated healing class/tanking class. There you go. So basicly instead of teh traditional one person run up to a big ass monster and take all the damage, players will now all use their abilities and tricks on the monster, not easy to explain in words. Shame on Arenanet for being unclear with it.

Also, they are making the game to run on most crappy computers(I say most cause I dunno what kind of computer you have).
