  • It's Irish ; )

  • i live in the appalachian mountains too and thats clogging not flatfooting

  • This isn't traditional Appalachian flatfooting at all. It's very neat and very gaelic/celtic.. but it's not how we do it in the Appalachian mountains.

  • Can you show us a clip of how its done in the Appalachians? :) I bet you can flatfoot

    great :).

  • omg! its dan and jake!

this may not be traditional flatfooting but they did learn from ira bernstein. also cos i think they nicked his 'finish'

the music was actually played by a longswording musician but im guessing that they use similar tunes. i think the tune used is the one this particular group uses for a dance called belerby.

the two lads here are getting quite a reputation and have been performing at festivals for ages. theyre doing shrewsbury this summer.

  • Yeah maybe not your traditional flat footing music, but it's very interesting... I like it a lot actually!

  • It's pretty good, I think it's just the music that gets me. It sounds a little irish. (Which I love actually, but most flatfootin' music is more bluegrass).

  • Ah, yeah, that would be because it's being played by morris musicians lol. I was at a ceilidh where the music was provided by the morris side I associate with.

  • I'm from the "Appalachians" (and can read!) and can tell you, this isn't completely correct ;)

  • In what way? I'm from the Pennines, and this is the closest I've ever got to it. I love it though
