Love this shit.. I heard of them about a year after II was released and loved that CD.. forgot about em recently.. untill i heard IV was out.. didn't like the sound of that 1 too much.. so i just bought II and III of amazon.. ill be getting the first and fourth eventually though.. gotta give them both a chance especially IV.. im sure its good in its own way..
had the pleasure of seeing them twice, they played this song the second time i saw them and dedicated it to "all the ladies out there" such a sweet song <3 love dallas taylor!
Something wrong with the world when songs like this dont get heard and Gag Gag goes straight to number 1.......Take me back to a time kids when songs like THIS went straight to number 1
my boyfriend quoted lyrics from this song on his blog refering to a picture of us, i google the lyrics find the song and cried. This song is beautiful :) and i need to listen to there other songs goooood band very gooooood band :)
Im just discovering this great band. Im not christian, quite the oposite, i dont have a good opinion about religion, especially christian-catholic (reigning religion in my country) but icant care less if Maylene its christian or muslim... They are great, and i really like their lyrics, christians or not. This its not cheap proselytism, its rebel christianisism. Religious people are short on rebellion,; its good to see some believers, facing the world thorugh ther faith, but in their own way...
Who gives a shit about religion. I'm an atheist. I like The Showdown, Skynyrd, Maylene, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and all kinds of musicians known for their 'christian beliefs'. I could care less about their religion and so should you guys. Their music is the shit. That's why we all keep coming back.
@Anodynede Who says they're dependent? So when a band believes in God and makes music that is fitting to their beliefs then they depend on Christianity to sell records?
@Anodynede Maylene isn't necessarily unpopular, but they're not huge sellers either, so i'm not buying your argument at all. the only thing they lean on for sales is the music. they're just not afraid to put out the fact that they're Christians, even though they get crap for it from people like you.
I just got a brand new Jeep Wrangler yesterday, I drove it around for the first time today without the top on, and listened to this song while driving down the highway. I seriously don't think I could have been any happier....it was amazing to hear this.
You know... what bugs me the MOST... is the people who don't realize that over time, a band is going to go through at least one metamorphosis, one transformation. Bands mature over time, and as they mature, so will their music. I, for one, happen to love all of their songs, but this one really captivates me.
I luv this song and I only searched this band bcuz if Demi lovato I no it sunds sad but it's true anyway once I heard this n sum of thier other stuff I was lke wow n I lke dem
@Magnak nope. This album is just gay. Why do you think nobody listens to them anymore. two or three years ago if this band would have played scream the prayer everyone would have stayed and watched them. This year literally 95 percent of the crowd left after for today. Cuz this band sucks ass now.
@guitarXhero1245 Aslong as you accounted for 95% of the audience im sure they did. I have been a fan of the band since not long after they released the first album which i loved, the second i felt was a bit too soft but this album is a perfect balance of what maylene is. Amazing southern metalcore.
This song is amazing. I love all their songs, but something about this song just gets me more than the rest. This and Old Iron Train are some of the best songs I've heard.
This song is so summery, it reminds me of summer at least the instrumentals tho. I wanna see them live so bad. :(
this song makes me so sad when i hear it, it reminds me of heartbreak. i really love it tho, i love all their songs. chalk one one up for the fucking south!
i met dallas taylor in chicago when they came through :] I had the pleasure of meeting him and talking to him and gave em a hug he was such nice guy very cool and happy :] i hate musicians who get really cocky and dont give a shit about fans. Dallas is NOTHING like that. Hes awesome :]
@indietone14 Hes from my home town my sister went to high school with him. He is definitely down to earth and a nice person . He is a real original guy too, got the concept for the band as a kid with his grandfather lfrom the ma barker recreation in lake weir outside of Ocala ( our home town) I suggest seeing them live its great to meet them and hear them play

How can this song ONLY have 15,000 views?!?! this is rediculous - it should be millions of views! this song is the best I've ever heard in my lifetime.
It's different from their first few albums, but I like it. It's nice and calm. It's a change but it's a good change I think. Let a band experiment for once. Yeesh people.
They have amazing shows. Got to meet every member and even hugged Dallas Taylor. ((: I'd love to see them again, especially since I haven't seen them perform III yet; however, this is one of my favorite songs by them at the moment. It has a powerful message that most understand. I love it. <3
Alright dude, thanks for that. This past May is when I started listening to them, so I haven't really had the time to actually learn about them. But seriously, if these guys had solos like every song, they would be my second favorite band (behind Pantera), and their sound is just so unique and cool, I'd just hate for them to lose it.
What's weird is, yeah, this is such a good song, even though this isn't the Maylene I'm used to. But can we all admit they kinda sold us out on III? I mean, it's just as good as MATSOD and II, but Dallas has lost the hardcore edge I came to know and love. Still, these guys are so fucking badass.
How is it selling out to do what you want? I've talked to the guys, and as far as I know, this is EXACTLY what they want to do. Create a great hard rock album with rock and roll influences just dripping from the corners of the CD case.
True that shit, dude, but what I meant by that was that I'm used to the Underoath Dallas, not the Maylene Dallas. It was just a stupid post in my part, I meant that they're just kind of losing the metal part of southern metal. I'll still listen to these guys anyways, I'm still a huge fan, but it's just different. In a good way.
P.S. Your a lucky motherfucker for getting to meet them. I was going to go to one of their concerts but it was rained out, even though I had a backstage pass.
Oh, I just walk up to them after their set late last year. I was asking them about their next album, and they were very quick to point out what they wanted to do with it. Plus, I could already hear it happening. I have no problem with it, it's something different than everything else out there - I'm tired of the same old metalcore/hardcore/etc bands. And if you watch any interviews of these guys, they really don't consider themselves all that "metal".
haha these guys r some o them good ol boys.

Too Tall Grizzly is a five-piece, hardcore-influenced rock band
from central Connecticut with a freshly released EP, “Stream
of Unconsciousness,” on Broken English Records.
Fans of Gallows,
Every Time I Die, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, and The
Chariot will definitely want to give Too Tall Grizzly a listen.
