  • Masterpieces lie hidden in darkness... The night is black and full of Beauty

  • good and bad are just opinons have your own take on it and you will do fine

  • very great dark ambient music love the organ intro it gives it the whole gothic scenario feeling, and is very relaxing while taking you on a goth adventure through realms of a paradoxical universe

  • Hey let's go to the Cadaverous Carnival.

*This song plays in background as scary clowns, harlequins, and ravens greet you with black roses and a bit of their madness.

  • .......

    OMG.

In 8th grade, we did a unit on Poe, and the Masque of the Red Death was my favorite. I still have the ONLY dialogue in the entire piece memorized... "Who dares? Who dares disturb us with this blasphemous mockery? Seize him and unmask him, that we may know whom we have to hang, at dawn, from the battlements."

I have Bitter Ashes, Blood of Angels, and Angels are Weeping on my iPod, but I'm only now discovering how awesome Nox Arcana is. This music is so deep!

  • I know it's the wrong story, but this makes me think of the Phantom of Truth.

  • Nagyszerű zene!

Az a három ember biztosan jobbat tudna komponálni,azért nem tetszik nekik..

  • The Masque of red death is my favourite work by Edgar Allan Poe and this musical piece truly captures the emotions and images i get when reading it, this is amazingly chilling and haunting with a standard of excellence in beauty that i have yet to hear outside of Nox Arcana

  • I am a Christian too Jesus is my lord and savior! He is my guide in the valley of death... The seed of Gods love teaches me too love even a enemy with a dark heart because understanding sides and accepting all sides as equals is my strenght, dieing for it is what my lord taught me, too live fearless... Music like this motivates me empowers me drives me NOT to do wrong but to succeed in the things I do from little to big. Become a master in your craft, nox taught me that with epic music like this

  • @MrSAMEKI you have been mistaken... Nox Arcana is the song of darkness... for those who have evil and dark heart and soul... You have been impressed by the music of darkness... I'm sorry for you my fellow believer...

  • @Leofox94 don't be sorry for me brother! When good does bad or when bad does good, Who are we to say whats good and whats bad? Jesus is the light. Satan the dark. This I understand. But what makes a human bad is the human, not the motivation.. If this music motivates me concentrate deeper, focus clearer why is that bad? Is this music defined evil because it sounds evil??? I LOVE ALL THINGS and I pray it has the same affect to all the brothers and sisters out their listening to Nox Arcana.

  • Blood was its avatar and its seal......the redness and the horror of blood

  • And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. And one by one dropped the revellers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

  • My favorite Poe story...and now one of my favorite songs.

  • É a música de Nox Arcana mais das trevas que já ouví. É a melhor música

  • O.K. Nox Arcana REALLY likes Poe.

  • @balletluve it's good, so do I

  • When I die, I want nox arcana to play at my funeral. It'll be an epic funeral ;] lol

  • this music is metal without being metal \m/ Hail Nox Arcana!

  • we just red this story in english awseome!!!

  • oooooooooh i just love this

Masque of the Red Death is one of my favorite Poe stories and this music just brings it to life in a whole new dimension

  • I love these guys. In an era wher everyone's trying to bew 'new and different' sometimes it;s just nice to listen to a good quality song that envokes one thing and isn' afraid to go all out in a genre. Not calling it generic but it's not afraid to be moody and gothic and whatever else it feels like being.

  • Open your door

    where he awaits

    silently dwelling,

    in the darkest shadow,

    slowly lurking,

    lovliest of all,

    Red Death is here.

  • My fave poem by Edgar Allan Poe!!! *love*

  • idk y but i think of phantom of the opera when i hear this...I LUV IT!!!!

  • @theghostwitthemost01 Probably because Erik dressed as the Red Death during the masquerade ball. I think the organ would help in making you think of PotO too.

  • So what album does 'Temple Of The Black Pharaoh' belong to?

  • @LilKama1 its on the Necronomicon ablum

  • @winterbornfan Thank you. Appreciated.

  • fuck i have no words to describe this song

    maybe one

    POE

    <3

  • :'\

  • beautiful and sinister, perfect.

  • 3 people have the red death.

  • I listen and think of the nobles as they dance the night away in a vain attempt to drown out the people who are dying of the plague outside and yet are unaware that they are dancing with the very thing they were trying to shut out.

  • I keep listening to specific albums/songs all the time. I write stories, and this music helps me to get and stay in the right mood

  • Nox Arcana would be perfect to play in the background of an English class, especially if youre reading one of Poe's works.

  • @theawesomesara or a digital art portfolio of creepy work like mine

  • this song is the coolest song of all time I must say X3

  • Nox Arcana depicted the story of Poe perfectly through this wonderful piece of music. They have my deepest and utmost respect. <3

  • @InterplanetaryRythm I agree with you. They're very inspiring in many ways.

  • so great music!!! Reminds me so much to Castlevania saga!

  • and the red death held dominion over all.

  • Beautiful.

  • life ebbs slowly forsakening hopes and dreams old men stare at what could have been a childhood gone a life in ruins opportunities missed on account of cowardice a painful love never revealed haunts their dreams subverting reality dressed in black she ambbles close holds his hand offering condolence bracing tighly she shows the way as he accepts its cold embrace
  • Amazing song

  • " To and fro , in the seven chambers thier stalked, in fact, a multitude of dreams. And these - the dreams- writhed in and about, taking hue frm the rooms, and causing the wild music of the orchestra to seem as the echo of thier steps. And anon, there stikes the ebony clock wich stands in the hall of velevet. And then, for a moment, all is still, and all is silent , save the voice of the clock. The dreams are stiff frozen as they stand. "

  • @TheSomeguy101 from the actual story itself.

  • GREAT SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • people waltzing in rooms of white, purple, etc. funny noone wants to go into the black room with the pretty clock :P

  • the darkness of your music has seduced me...all of my love and respect for you, Nox Arcana!

  • This music really takes me places.

  • @guitarscreecher Aww, thank you!

  • This music is truly amazing. I love the way Nox Arcana creates a whole ambient around the topic they picked (Dracula, Poe, Christmas, a circus...) and transport you to the world they're creating, making you feel all the elements around you. This is exactly how I feel everytime I listen to them. I can imagine countless scenarios and situations in every song.

Oh, by the way, they're a great source of inspiration when it's time to write and/or draw something ;)

    (Sorry for my messy English)

  • @mutterunser LOL and i thought i was the only who could see their world in every song. I agree 100%

  • @mutterunser they are making a trilogy of the christmas albums. i read it on their website there is going to be a new christmas album soon.

  • @TheNightsMoon Really? I didn't know that, but now that I do I can't wait for it! It'd be nice if they do something based on Dickens's "A Christmas Carol".

  • @mutterunser i love that book!

  • @mutterunser ur eng is fine dude n i couldnt agree more with u

  • @mutterunser As a fellow artist I have to agree. Every time I listen to them the ideas and inspiration just pours out and I do some of my best work.

  • @mutterunser "I love the way Nox Arcana creates a whole ambient around the topic they picked (Dracula, Poe, Christmas, a circus...) and transport you to the world they're creating, making you feel all the elements around you."

  • @Zataic56789 YAY :D thats awsome man its my favorite band :)

  • Now this is real gothic... Finally! Gothic defined.

  • cool!

  • That's a very interesting concept, Psyckotra. I am in agreement; I see a similar scene when I close my eyes. However, strangely enough, every time I listen to this, I am playing the part of the stalker...

  • Hmm, who are you and why are you in my head?

  • That's not strange. That's being resonable. Who would want to be in the shoes of the murdered?

  • Edgard Allan Poe

  • ich hab das hörbuch angehört und die musik passt perfekt, zu der unmenschlichen grausamkeit in der geschichte von edgar allan poe.. genial.

  • read the story, this fits perfectly to the part where the prince is chasing the man in the bloodsplattered robe through the rooms until he reaches the final black room and meets his untimly demise, the ends with the unmasking of the man to reveal...nothing, an empty robe and a mask

  • Its kind of really cool and unique! IF you try closing your eyes and listen to the music, you could actually picture out a story. I pictured out about a woman who was being chased by someone and she runs into a dark forest, only to meet the stalker in front of her and stab her in the middle. She dies in a puddle of her own blood as the song/music clangs with a final touch. Its setting was in a bit 17th Century, with the villages and castles and the like. :]:]:]

  • Brilliant as ever! I love the atmospheres they create with their compositions.

  • Beautiful ♥♥♥♥♥

  • awesome!!

  • Ah so dark, so gothic. Nox Arcana!

  • I love this piece by Nox Arcana "The Masque of the Red Death" is my favorite write by Edgar Allan Poe. it has such gothic beauty and feeling to it. truly amazing.

  • band of the best

  • This is my favorite shortstory written by Edgar Allan Poe! It´s so damn dark and gothic something could ever be^^ I love it!!!

  • @Orklord90 could you give me a little overview of the story?

  • Just listening to the whole music is already breathtaking. With the symphony, the atmosphere and the story behind it. A true epitome of phantasmagoria.

  • This definitly fits the story

  • this piece captures the story perfectly! pure awesomeness~

  • This song is based on one of my favorite stories from Edgar Allen Poe!!! I LOVE IT!!!
