Best edition of Pac-Man. It's much more far in the sense that if you get trapped between two ghosts, you can simply leap over them rather than succumb to a cheap death. This MegaDrive version seems rather faithful to the arcade except for downgraded sound and graphics.
this game is truly beautiful. :) i have a version of it in Pac-Man World 2 for PS2. this version looks very awesome conversion of the original :) love it.
I own pacmania, too. I haven't played it in YEARS, though. I used to play it on the Original Sega Genesis system back in 1991. I originally discovered and played this game in the arcade, and then HAD to buy it when they came out with it for Sega Genesis. Does anybody know a site on the internet where I could play a good FREE version of this game online?
Yes. But if it were available on the SNES, the conversion would be better because the SNES can have more colors on screen at once. Plus I believe the SNES is capable of better sound quality than the Arcade version of Pac-Mania, so it would've been able to handle the sound almost perfectly.
Man, if only this game was released for the SNES we would've seen an Arcade perfect conversion in the 16-bit days. The Genesis's color pallet is too weak, and everything turned out to be like the NES version but with bigger characters and slightly more shading.
Being reminded of having played Pac-Mania on the NES and couldn't remember how it felt playing it originally in the arcades until the Namco Museum edition came out.
It's Pretty Good on the Sega Genesis.
