@TheARMAProductions lol we dont live for the colosseum my man. this is the 21st century not biblical times. why would you want to see guys and girls dying during sport anyway? the dark days of most motorsports are thankfully behind us due to increased safety. granted, riding a crotch rocket is always going to carry greater risks than rolling on 4 wheels, but i bet you any of those riders who have lost a friend in an accident wouldnt echo your views. 1 death a week is just crazy.
@TheARMAProductions how can f1 be too safe? life is the most precious thing any of us has. go ask the family of any driver/marshal/spectator killed attending a race whether its "too safe" nowadays
@TheARMAProductions dude I honestly think that rally and motogp are way better than formula 1. You mock the ovals because their simple shape well in an oval you get lots of traffic and you can't make a single mistake because it would be your doom, ask tony stewart and lewis hamilton who swapped cars recently and said that the formula 1 was so easy to handle and the stock car was such a beast really hard to handle. formula 1 is for pussies who don't need any talent because electronics do the hard
formula 1 is just a bunch of guys on cool looking cars cruising on a single line. is so boring that the maFIA had to introduce this DRS so they can basically cheat to overtake. @GOUGH1918 There is NO stability control in f1, and there is no TC since 2008. For me F1 is just a better experience, the sound, the looks, everything. @GOUGH1918 yeah right, well the you must`ve seen f1 wheel from early 2000, up to 2008. It was banned in 2008, and it was a major talking point back then, weird that you missed it.
I`m not talking about the setup differences on every track in nascar, because thats obvious. Im talking about the way that every track looks almost the same from a spectators point of view.
old nascar, 80's and 90's was good, now nascar sucks.
F1 do turns some nascar drivers would shit their pants if they did, if a 65 year old man (mark martin) can still race in nascar, that shows you something there....
NASCAR is pretty awesome a lot of people knock it but it comes down to the driver where as F1 is about the car and there $1Million steering wheels. NASCAR is all about who has a better driver and who can get a head in a tight pack.
thumbs up if you think racing is about beautiful machines, precision mechanics and skillful drivers; not the crashes, after all that take no skill at all.
@dgoodin24 THANK YOU. why doesnt everybody shut up? true race fans watch every form of motorsports they can, because they love RACING. shut the hell up with this stupid debate already, its tired and pointless. nascar and f1 are different games, both difficult and deserving of respect.
gosh some people are dickheads, i am a nascar fan, i TRY to watch f1, i just cant follow it, too slow for my liking(as an overall not as in car speeds obviously) I am soooo pationate about racing and especially oval racing, Ive followed it for years, i respect these men they have risked most of their lives chasing that dream of racing the highest level of motorsport in their country and push themselves to unbelieveable limits, and then some fucker turns around and says, its only turning left
@ericambrosecoon im sorry i said it wrong but i don't have an english book stuck up my ass so that i can pull it out and sound like a smart ass and correct everybody. Inbred is a little harsh but i do like corn, i'm from wisconsin i don't consider my self a hillbilly its pretty flat around here. PRICK!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It takes far less talent to drive F1 cars compared to Nascar. F1 cars are so perfect and amazing, they will do whatever the driver wants them to do. All you need to drive in F1 is no fear of speed. Nascar takes more driver ability because the cars aren't near as good as F1. Formula 1 is like driving a Ferrari, and Nascar is like driving a dump truck at 200 mph.
"ok jeff this is the corners ahead of you left, left, left, left, left , slight left , left, left"
yet f1 drivers need to be as fit as astronaughts to drive it requires amazing concentration and if you think its like driving a ferrari look at richard hammond hes driven a bugatti veyron and a top fuel draggster (ish) and yet he couldnt cope with the f1 car he was amazed by it
What the hell? are you crazy? do you think that driving on 19 (this year) different circuits is easier than driving on a oval circuit? And even ALWAYS the same way??? F1 drivers must react and be incredibly careful, and they must handle incredible power...The most exciting part in Nascar races are crashes!!! I'm not saying Nascar is not a nice championship, but saying "It takes far less talent to drive F1 cars compared to Nascar." is rubbish!
What's the point of this video...I can only see stupid comments like "NASCAR REALLY is like faster version of the BTCC or WTCC", you can't compare de quality an handling of a European car with the Bricks they build and use in USA.
Also, is quiet disturbing to see the Ratzenberger. What kind of disrepectfull idiot put that picture.
F1 is too political now, and NASCAR isnt even a comparible thing... NASCAR REALLY is like faster version of the BTCC or WTCC... which is essentially the german DTM... And then id say DTM is far more interesting to watch than NASCAR. The element of whos the best driver doesnt matter in F1 anymore, whoever has the best team will win*. For example; Jenson Button for BRAWN GP... No way is he the best driver, but hes heading the championship because of the car (*often best drivers are at best teams)
@pesisbest Then why do F1 drivers that come to NASCAR fail? Because they can't handle anything more than a go-cart. They can't handle a real car that weighs 3450lbs & don't do the work for them
@jrt88fan im sorry they probably fail because NASCAR is that boring and theres no real sense of achievement, accomplishment and thrill, in F1 its alot more tense, faster and your punished for the slightest twitch, by having your car slide off into a wall or into the gravel. +in F1 the drivers actually have to go round, umm wats the word im thinking of.....ohh ye right hand corners as well. NASCAR its just left all the way. face it NASCAR = boring fail, F1 = a true driver sport.
@jrt88fan I wouldn't say Montoya has "failed" in any sense. Sure, he's not the fastest, but you have to consider that he's racing against men who have raced ovals their whole lives.
I don't know if I should say anything. All of the F1 fans say NASCAR is all circles all lefts and stuff. But they are both racing. It doesn't make sense to say which one is better, that is an opinion. Both cars are different (duh) so certain people will excel in each type. Jacques Villeneuve was not good in NASCAR but Montoya is decent. I'd like to see a few NASCAR drivers go to F1. Rumors say A.J. Allmendinger may have a chance. But that would just escalade the argument from both sides.
I think over the past years nascars levels of safety blow any other forms of racing in the dust. Like 2008 Micheal Mcdowell. Or Kyle Busch's flip in the Aarons 312. Or even yesterdays Joe Nemcheck flip. Not only was Joe ok but he drove away!
this kid is kinda gay...theyre both pretty ugly if you someone fucks up but usageee is pretty right. they have no protection in the case they flip and nascar drivers have roll cages...so id say f1 racers are pretty hardcore plus its a way better race to watch
F1 Failure montoya went to Nascar as thats his level
"1992 F1 champion Nigel Mansell's rookie season victory over Mario Andretti and other American drivers in 1993 CART Series, coupled with 1991 CART champion Michael Andretti's failed sojourn into F1, was seen by many as evidence of superiority of non-US drivers"
Took Mansell 12 years to win F1, takes step down joins CART and wins title 1st year beating a host of inferior yanks. Joke Nascar "ROUND IN CIRCLES" is the home for failed drivers
You are extremely correct. Also F1 has had how many deaths in the last 25years????? Sweet F.A.
Senna, Ratzenberger, DeAngelis (testing),......None in this millenium. 2 in the 90s(at the same event), 1 between 85 and 90(testing)...then heaps before that.
haha.. he was the best at being inept and out of his depth thats for sure.
F1 was a step too high for Montoya..there hasn't been a more crash prone riidiculed driver in F1 in the last 15 years. I cant recall a driver being mocked to the extent he was. Being the best in america is one thing.. being able to compete in F1 is a whole new level.. thats where he failed. I liked him in terms of the fact he was good viewing as he always screwed up.. there was a comedic element laughing at him.
@f1499 yeh 1st and 2nd being seperated by like 5 to 10 even 20 seconds at the finish is real racing, at least nascar has the balls to put more cars on the track and less rules and has close racing and close finishes, and yes i do watch f1, i am a fan of both
@flubber342 If F1 had no rules it would be crazy. Those Vehicles would go more than 200kmph in slow turns(if they had ground effect and turbo engines instead of atmosphere engines...)
@flubber342 I saw a Nascar "race" the other day...6 people finished. And people actually pay to watch it. A sport? Really? A sport requires those partaking in it to be skilled.
@mortisprobati you must have watched a Daytona or Talladega race, where they have a "big wreck", and yes it is worth a $50 to $200 doller ticket to go to a NASCAR race, because there is something called PACK racing, or in other words, CLOSE racing, in F1, the drivers are 3 to 4 wide in one big tight pack, until after the first two turns, in NASCAR they are 2 to 3 wide in a tight pack for about 5 laps, at Talladega and Daytona, they are 3 to 4 wide the entire race.
@mortisprobati I just like NASCAR better because it is more competitive, and you don't have to use texting language, my god that gets on my nerves, I am even a teenager and it is annoying, what does "cus" even mean? Now I would like to see you race at Talladega, I bet you would hold down the throttle, think you can keep up with the other drivers, and watch them pull away from you because you don't know how to use the draft. At Nashville, you would do the same and crash into the wall.
@flubber342 "cus"? how out of touch are you? it's short for because...I also speak like that sometimes cus I like to, FYI I use txting lingo ll t tym, cnt stnd "lol" though. sounds dire. I'm not a lunatic, please read the argument! I do know how to use the draft, simple aerodynamic phenomena.
@mortisprobati how out of touch am I? well, I work quit a bit, and I can find more usefull things to do with my time, like senseless arguing on the internet, it really is fun. look how bad you are trying to proof your point with no real information! it's funny! It takes a LOT of talent to race on twisting road courses at high speeds, but it also takes a LOT of skill to drive in a traffic jam at 180 mph for 4 to 5 hours.
@flubber342 it is fun isn't it? neither are you, i assume you're assuming it takes skill to drive in a circle for hours? or just a very long attention span? it's just an oval, that's why it's so close.
@mortisprobati YES I ASSUME IT TAKES SKILL TO DRIVE IN A CIRCLE FOR 3 HOURS, ARE YOU NOT READING MY REPLY'S? I ALSO ASSUME THAT IT TAKES SKILL TO DRIVE ON A ROAD COURSE FOR 3 HOURS! now you are starting to annoy me, I bet your getting some fun out of this to, don't assume that I am a redneck who just likes crashes, cause i am not, i like F1 and other F.I.A. sieries, NASCAR, I watch La Mans races, and Rolex Sports car races, and I do watch drag racing, and I Love my Local quartar mile dirt tracks
I 100% argree! F1 is so boring there is no passing and the f1 company is to ignerant to improve thier program because they think their the best.(Which there not)
All of those improvments f1 is making wont make a HUGE difference! its still not going to be as exciting as nascar. You F1 people have no comebacks all you say is nascar is for rednecks. And have nothing better to say.
Fast cars doesnt make racing exciting! Whats the point of watching racing if there is no excitment in it! F1 is a perfect example of boring racing sometimes, the first lap is exciting but then the rest is boring. Watching cars that look like sharks (F1) gets boring after a while when there all running single file you can pretty much tell who is going to win after the first lap. Everyone has there own taste but i honestly think nascar is better.
Im glad you didnt overreact about this like all of the other guys. I appreciate it! I cant wait to see Danica drive in nascar. I wonder how she will do.
Some survive and some don't. e.g. Ayrton Senna, 1994........135mph
Why would you indulge yourself with such a petty retort? Anyone with comprehension skills would read my comment and realize that my words were meant in relative terms; i.e. F1 car compared to NASCAR automobiles. So how about I just reiterate my statement for you?
F1 pilots have less protection than drivers of other organized, automotive sports.
No deaths in over fifteen years is a solid premise. However, I was about to concede on the issue of modern safety until I watched the video link you posted and realized something.
Kovalainen at Heikki wasn't saved by his car. He survived only because of the thousands of reinforced rubber tires along the wall. (6 x 5) Check it out:
It's a matter of simple physics. There are almost no crumple zones on the car to bleed off energy (extend the amount of stopping time) on a frontal impact.
Something needs to extend the time of impact. Since the car can't do it, they place thousands of tires along the wall to do the job. They over compensate in other areas.
Senna would have survived if these additional safety measures where in place.
watch?v=wRSBVgqVpq0
The fact remains that this car is a death trap, but a fun & fast one.
Hehe, not suprised that you call here Montoya as an example. Truth is, he never belonged to F1, this guy is nuts. I dont give a crap abaout NASCAR but F1 demands from the drivers much more than typical Nascar- circuts. Period. But i wont deny, for some of us Nascar can be more atractive as there is more crashes involved in it. Still, most Nascar drivers would kiss Gods ass, to get into F1.This migration goes rather in this direction. Thats the truth.
does that justify a bullshit racist stereotype that idiots use to describe something they don't understand. yes anywho who call nascar a redneck driven sport is nothing more than a racist asshole that was the point I was trying to make. Grant I agree I find F1 more interesting I would love to drive those circuts. But it pisses me off when some racist asshole runs his/her mouth without knowing what the hell they are talking about
Another thing that makes NASCAR more appealing is the Close racing you can lean on someone and not lose your wheel from the contact. The racing is much closer and more exciting but there are Idiots who think its just for the crashes which is wrong I would take a caution free race that ends with a margin of .0001 over a wreck filled race where the winner wins by more than a second cause the next best car was wreck
not a specialist in this whole Nascar-thing but what u say can be named as a benefit for Nasc (meant something that really makes driving there more demanding) or something what makes it kind of easier. It takes a lot in F1 to get close to somebody in front of u who drives a similar car and to pass him. As u get closer to him, every wrong-taken corner cost u something about 0.2 sec, this means about 20 meters. And when u are close enough to try passin him, when u fail, he drives u 40 meters away
I understand u, when u say: f:::cking racists. But u see, i understand as well that some people around the world can think : Americans are like some some stupid antient Romes(??) who get to the coloseum only to see how someone gets killed. Sports like Nascar (crashes), football or wrestling (calling the last one a sport is kind of hard for me :) are mostly v. brutal or they appear so for foreigners. Only baseball looks normal even though the guys are looking lately more and more like wrestlers.
Baseball is boring I use to play it, and I agree on the reason F1 is appealing I don't classify myself as a one type racing fan I love all kinds. as for sports being brutal yes football is but isn't futbol (or as in america cause we just can't think of other names its soccer)or rugby? the only differences in the sports is how you handle the ball (rugby being the closest to football) and how we use pads. even basketball can get brutal (look at last years playoffs)
People in all countries whether they want to admit it or not have that part in them that wants to see two people going at it, thats why there is boxing and hockey. People in other countries base their opinions on idiots they meet who roughly make up a good portion of this country (that I admit). But they then become blind to those who are not like the mass. I have had people come up to me and get to know me and be like "your not like the rest"
Dude, if you think F1 is the only sport that requires a lot from the driver, then you sir, are very, very wrong about motor sports.
F1 and NASCAR are 2 very different sports, but in both cases, ANY mistakes by the driver ALWAYS costs them something.
If you think F1 is the epitome of driving skill, and nothing else matters, than you don't have the proper respect for what Formula 1 drivers really have to do for their jobs.
Different cars, different skills, regardless of the tracks.
Tactical, please, read my shit properly, never said, Nascar drivers know shit about racing, F! is just more demanding, there is no 'getting lucky', there is more developed ingineering stuff , there is even 6 G in some of the circuits. I never said u can put a fu..in 14 year old child into the Nas-car and the result will be thesame. I bet, for any F1 driver it would take a year to adjust the style. Please, dont make it some national bullshit ( nothing against the USA!!)
who the hell is watchin nascar???f1 got 100times more fans all over the world than nascar. peaple in europe doesnt even know what nascar is.just like american football and baseball.shiiiiiit sports.f1 and soccer the true sports you bastard!!!!
lol just cause people in europe don't know what american football is doesn't make it a TRUE sport. as for racing while I do watch nascar I prefer the Rolex sports car series and the SCCA they don't run ovals and the Rolex usually run 24 hour endurance races
Nascar = USA, F1 = the rest of the world

NASCAR is pretty awesome a lot of people knock it but it comes down to the driver where as F1 is about the car and there $1Million steering wheels. NASCAR is all about who has a better driver and who can get a head in a tight pack.

It takes far less talent to drive F1 cars compared to Nascar. F1 cars are so perfect and amazing, they will do whatever the driver wants them to do. All you need to drive in F1 is no fear of speed. Nascar takes more driver ability because the cars aren't near as good as F1. Formula 1 is like driving a Ferrari, and Nascar is like driving a dump truck at 200 mph.

but nascar races go like this
"ok jeff this is the corners ahead of you left, left, left, left, left , slight left , left, left"
yet f1 drivers need to be as fit as astronaughts to drive it requires amazing concentration and if you think its like driving a ferrari look at richard hammond hes driven a bugatti veyron and a top fuel draggster (ish) and yet he couldnt cope with the f1 car he was amazed by it

What kind of disrepectfull idiot put that picture.

glockfan14 2 years ago

They can't handle a real car that weighs 3450lbs & don't do the work for them
jrt88fan 1 year ago
@jrt88fan im sorry they probably fail because NASCAR is that boring and theres no real sense of achievement, accomplishment and thrill, in F1 its alot more tense, faster and your punished for the slightest twitch, by having your car slide off into a wall or into the gravel. +in F1 the drivers actually have to go round, umm wats the word im thinking of.....ohh ye right hand corners as well. NASCAR its just left all the way. face it NASCAR = boring fail, F1 = a true driver sport.

ericambrosecoon 1 year ago
I don't know if I should say anything. All of the F1 fans say NASCAR is all circles all lefts and stuff. But they are both racing. It doesn't make sense to say which one is better, that is an opinion. Both cars are different (duh) so certain people will excel in each type. Jacques Villeneuve was not good in NASCAR but Montoya is decent. I'd like to see a few NASCAR drivers go to F1. Rumors say A.J. Allmendinger may have a chance. But that would just escalade the argument from both sides.

@flubber342 I saw a Nascar "race" the other day...6 people finished. And people actually pay to watch it. A sport? Really? A sport requires those partaking in it to be skilled.
mortisprobati 11 months ago
@mortisprobati you must have watched a Daytona or Talladega race, where they have a "big wreck", and yes it is worth a $50 to $200 doller ticket to go to a NASCAR race, because there is something called PACK racing, or in other words, CLOSE racing, in F1, the drivers are 3 to 4 wide in one big tight pack, until after the first two turns, in NASCAR they are 2 to 3 wide in a tight pack for about 5 laps, at Talladega and Daytona, they are 3 to 4 wide the entire race.
flubber342 11 months ago
@flubber342 they race 3-4 wide cus any lunatic can drive an oval. it's a matter of taste, i see nascar as purely tasteless.
mortisprobati 11 months ago
@mortisprobati I just like NASCAR better because it is more competitive, and you don't have to use texting language, my god that gets on my nerves, I am even a teenager and it is annoying, what does "cus" even mean? Now I would like to see you race at Talladega, I bet you would hold down the throttle, think you can keep up with the other drivers, and watch them pull away from you because you don't know how to use the draft. At Nashville, you would do the same and crash into the wall.
flubber342 11 months ago
@flubber342 "cus"? how out of touch are you? it's short for because...I also speak like that sometimes cus I like to, FYI I use txting lingo ll t tym, cnt stnd "lol" though. sounds dire. I'm not a lunatic, please read the argument! I do know how to use the draft, simple aerodynamic phenomena.
mortisprobati 11 months ago
@mortisprobati how out of touch am I? well, I work quit a bit, and I can find more usefull things to do with my time, like senseless arguing on the internet, it really is fun. look how bad you are trying to proof your point with no real information! it's funny! It takes a LOT of talent to race on twisting road courses at high speeds, but it also takes a LOT of skill to drive in a traffic jam at 180 mph for 4 to 5 hours.
flubber342 11 months ago
@flubber342 it is fun isn't it? neither are you, i assume you're assuming it takes skill to drive in a circle for hours? or just a very long attention span? it's just an oval, that's why it's so close.
mortisprobati 11 months ago
@mortisprobati YES I ASSUME IT TAKES SKILL TO DRIVE IN A CIRCLE FOR 3 HOURS, ARE YOU NOT READING MY REPLY'S? Fast cars doesnt make racing exciting! Whats the point of watching racing if there is no excitment in it! F1 is a perfect example of boring racing sometimes, the first lap is exciting but then the rest is boring. Watching cars that look like sharks (F1) gets boring after a while when there all running single file you can pretty much tell who is going to win after the first lap. Everyone has there own taste but i honestly think nascar is better.

F1 drivers have zero protection.
usageee 3 years ago
wrong, if they had no protection how would they survive 180 mph crashes
BrandzF1 3 years ago
BrandzF1,
Some survive and some don't.
Is this statement more palatable to you?
usageee 3 years ago
I can see what you mean, but im talking about now and not 1994, there hasn't been a death for 15 years, which is the same as nascar.
The protection they have at the moment is amazing.
Just look at Heikki this year,
watch?v=c8KTislEmwg
You cant really say they have little protection and i doubt many other cars in motorsport could survive it.
Just my opinion
BrandzF1 3 years ago
No deaths in over fifteen years is a solid premise. However, I was about to concede on the issue of modern safety until I watched the video link you posted and realized something.
Kovalainen at Heikki wasn't saved by his car. He survived only because of the thousands of reinforced rubber tires along the wall. (6 x 5) Check it out:
watch?v=WlXT3XFlYvk&feature=related
usageee 3 years ago
Kovalainen at Heikki.......whatt the hell. Heikki Kovalainen is the name of the driver. He meant Heikki as in the driver, his first name
F1guitarfanatic927 2 years ago
It's a matter of simple physics. There are almost no crumple zones on the car to bleed off energy (extend the amount of stopping time) on a frontal impact.
Something needs to extend the time of impact. Since the car can't do it, they place thousands of tires along the wall to do the job. They over compensate in other areas.
Senna would have survived if these additional safety measures where in place.
watch?v=wRSBVgqVpq0
The fact remains that this car is a death trap, but a fun & fast one.
usageee 3 years ago
This is why your chances of surviving a head-on crash in a Hummer are better than your chances in a MINI Cooper.

wanna come up with the next bullshit stereotype? cause you would be suprised at how many non rednecks like nascar
rebelboyracing 3 years ago
Hehe, not suprised that you call here Montoya as an example. Truth is, he never belonged to F1, this guy is nuts. I dont give a crap abaout NASCAR but F1 demands from the drivers much more than typical Nascar- circuts. Period. But i wont deny, for some of us Nascar can be more atractive as there is more crashes involved in it. Still, most Nascar drivers would kiss Gods ass, to get into F1.This migration goes rather in this direction. Thats the truth.
oprch 3 years ago
does that justify a bullshit racist stereotype that idiots use to describe something they don't understand. yes anywho who call nascar a redneck driven sport is nothing more than a racist asshole that was the point I was trying to make. Grant I agree I find F1 more interesting I would love to drive those circuts. But it pisses me off when some racist asshole runs his/her mouth without knowing what the hell they are talking about
rebelboyracing 3 years ago
Another thing that makes NASCAR more appealing is the Close racing you can lean on someone and not lose your wheel from the contact. The racing is much closer and more exciting but there are Idiots who think its just for the crashes which is wrong I would take a caution free race that ends with a margin of .0001 over a wreck filled race where the winner wins by more than a second cause the next best car was wreck
rebelboyracing 3 years ago 2
not a specialist in this whole Nascar-thing but what u say can be named as a benefit for Nasc (meant something that really makes driving there more demanding) or something what makes it kind of easier. It takes a lot in F1 to get close to somebody in front of u who drives a similar car and to pass him. As u get closer to him, every wrong-taken corner cost u something about 0.2 sec, this means about 20 meters. And when u are close enough to try passin him, when u fail, he drives u 40 meters away
oprch 3 years ago
The Nascar drivers can benefit from the traffic. They can get lucky. In F1 the 'luck'-factor equals nearly 0. Both are just different sports. Period.
oprch 3 years ago
I understand u, when u say: f:::cking racists. But u see, i understand as well that some people around the world can think : Americans are like some some stupid antient Romes(??) who get to the coloseum only to see how someone gets killed. Sports like Nascar (crashes), football or wrestling (calling the last one a sport is kind of hard for me :) are mostly v. brutal or they appear so for foreigners. Only baseball looks normal even though the guys are looking lately more and more like wrestlers.
oprch 3 years ago
Baseball is boring I use to play it, and I agree on the reason F1 is appealing I don't classify myself as a one type racing fan I love all kinds. as for sports being brutal yes football is but isn't futbol (or as in america cause we just can't think of other names its soccer)or rugby? the only differences in the sports is how you handle the ball (rugby being the closest to football) and how we use pads. even basketball can get brutal (look at last years playoffs)
