You seriously think they had unlimited ammo? You are a truly moronic imbecile, I bet you have never read one history book, ever. This was probably the most amazing military victory ever. All the Aztecs had to do was launch one coordinated attack together.
I love Spanish and Latin American Colonial culture.
While many Radicalized American Hispanics may lament it, the culture that came out of it was beautiful.
When I visited Australia. I passed by a primary school in Brisbane and I witnessed children doing the Mexican hat dance as an activity.
As trivial as it may seem, people half way around the world are doing the Mexican Hat Dance! Not to mention that Mexican food is really popular worldwide.
@alancisneros5 Can you explain the incredible victory then? Clearly he came from a more advanced civilization. He was completely outnumbered. He scuttled his ships to motivate his men, and was the non stationary army in foreign circumstances.
@Graham6762 Many people don't know this. But the Spanish did not conquer the Aztecs. The Spanish only numbered 1,000 while the Aztecs had 300,000. Even with more advanced weapons and unlimited ammo no army can win a against that. The Spanish won because the had help from the Tlaxcalans. They provided the Spanish with 150,000 soldiers. You can say the Tlaxcalans were army and the Spanish were the Special forces.
@Graham6762 You actually believe that? They always had natives helping them out. Ever since they landed Natives wanted to join them to defeat the Aztecs. In May 1521, Captain-General Hernán Cortés, with 900 Spaniards, 118 crossbows and harquebuses, fifteen bronze cannons and three heavy guns, thirteen brigantines, and as many as 150,000 Indian warriors, approached the entrance to Tenochtitlán. The siege of Tenochtitlán lasted from May 26 to August 13, 1521.
Cortes was no Boy Scout but compared to those Mexicans who were into human sacrifice, cannibalism, rape, sodomy and other unpleasantries he was a Saint. Stop glorifying that horrible Aztec culture that would be just as repulsive today as it was back then to the Spaniards who witnessed it.
@cybrotius but they do not colonisaron if nothing is stolen and left in misery throughout what is now Mexico and the few remaining indigenous people crossed white with some 90% of the Indians died aztecs and other races

@AlexSpartan They didn't have unlimited ammo they ran out of gunpowder fairly early and charges, either way they were outnumbered about 11,000 to 1.

While I'm very much Pro-Spanish.
Spaniards did not do it on their own, not by a long shot.
The Aztecs were despised by other native tribes for their barbarity.
The Spaniards manage to form a coalition with the other tribes and then conquered the Aztecs.
