Some bystanders challenged tankman to stand in front of the tanks. He was like Mr Bean and was so broke and desperate for money, nothing heroic or preplanned. Those China haters jumped on the bandwagon and made a big story out of it.
Tanks crushing humans is nothing new. Ask the Americans or British and they have more exciting stories to tell.

The tank driver was kind enough not to have run this counterrevolutionary down.Why don't they notice that?If the Western propaganda about this event was correct and the Chinese were gunning down anyone who was remotely against the regime, shouldn't the tank have simply rolled over him instead of trying to avoid him?If the "protesters" were unarmed, why were the crew buttoned down inside? it is beautiful people say uh hey hes no hero that didn't change anything when it did maybe not history maybe not his life but it affected other peoples lives and told them to stand up for whats right, i went through 4 videos of this there was always like 4 guys that said hes no hero they say hes not a hero because they know they could never stand a line of tanks down for your country.
