And if what Gates did was so bad then why didn't the charges stick?

The report said backpacks instead of suitcases. So what! Do the police have something against people wearing backpacks? Listen to the police radio transmittions. You can hear Gates yelling in one of them. In the others it sounds as if he's speaking loudly. They didn't "stick" because Gates is well connected and has influence.

Black officers have arrested people of all colors (including white people) for disorderly conduct.
There comes a point when a cop won't take it anymore. If they are professional enough to warn you to stop ranting and creating a public scene with insults, I suggest you heed that warning and follow the requests, as long as the cop isn't asking you to commit a crime, then you need to obey the request.

Also people are overlooking one important fact. The 911 caller NEVER mentions race but yet on the police report it was reported that " 2 blackman were wearing backpacks.." Who reported seeing 2 Black men? It wasnt the 911 caller! The KKKambridge police department did some profiling on their own. Also there is NO evidence of this loud & disorderly behavior. And if what Gates did was so bad then why didn't the charges stick?

How is that fact important. The report was written after the fact. They knew the caller had called about two black men (black in skin tone, not necessarily genetics). The report said backpacks instead of suitcases. So what! Do the police have something against people wearing backpacks? Listen to the police radio transmittions. You can hear Gates yelling in one of them. In the others it sounds as if he's speaking loudly. They didn't "stick" because Gates is well connected and has influence.

It wasn't transmitted over the radio. When I say "report," I'm referring to the written police report which is done upon resolution of the incident. The dispatcher said it was two men with suitcases, one possibly hispanic, one of unknown race. Nobody ever assumed "two black guys." I would vote libertarian if a viable candidate could be produced. I don't totally espouse any political ideology, but libertarian is pretty close. I'm sick of the DEMONcrats and the RepubliCANTS.

As I said, the police report said "two black males" because after responding to the call the police found out that the men she saw were Gates and his Moroccan driver. The fact that this lady was unable to identify either mans race is a mystery to me. It's not as is the officers took the damn 911 call. They probably assumed that the dispatcher was giving them incomplete info and that a neighbor that was close enough to witness an alleged B&E could correctly identify the races of the individuals.

What I found sad is the resoluteness of her position that she will not vote for President Obama again because of his statement that the Cambridge Police Department "acted stupidly." I agree that he should have recused himself from making any comments about the arrest, but her position seems to be very extreme, especially considering that Sgt. Crowley has accepted the President's invitation to meet at the White House on Thursday.

...As for Crowley and his fellow officers, they seem like honorable people. We need more like them in this country. They focus on what is right, not on a person's skin color. President Obama should take a cue from these Black officers, focus on what is right.

I totally discount the comments that this woman says. She was not there and she said she knew the police officer for more than 11 years so she is completely bias and accusing the President of something she is doing. She don't know all the facts either because she was not there so why is she getting on the president case for defending his friend when that is exactly what she is doing.
