You would think in this day and age Micro$uck would have included an optional boot-loader feature in their overpriced junk OS, Vista. I'm willing to bet Win-7 still doesn't have one. Oh, right that feature costs an extra $100 dollars. I've been busting my testicles for the lats couple of days figuring out an easy way to load XP 32bit on my vista ultimate machine. FUCK IT.
it tells me after i choose snow leopard on the boot screen that theres a malicious hardware and that to fix it i have to put the installation disk for windows 7 and repair... help i really wanna try snow leopard
you are much confused dude in your lecture delivery. i am trying much hard to find a way to instal OSX on my desktop with SATA,2.8Ghz,DVD,1GB RAM etc, but still all this in vain!
could any1 help me out! answer it to me at my email
Yeah, I'll answer you at your email. Are you in Cote d' Ivoire by chance? Because then we could meet for a drink and I could tell you how they killed my father, the late general of the army and how I need to have a frieind somewhere....dear sir.
Solution = You must fix your MBR to remove the Grub loader.
Why? =
I was dual-booting Vista and Ubuntu (Linux Distro.) I accidently overwrote vista, so i re-installed vista on another partition, then deleted Ubuntu. I was locked out of Grub (due to there being no linux), so I couldn't load vista. I had to use to cmd from my vista install disk to fix the MBR.
I'm currently in the process of running a Vista/Vista dual boot, to use a partition to do home work and general internet browsing, then have a seperate partition for recording music. The increased stability should really help, and it means that I can get all of my artist's projects moved over to the new install without any risk of loosing them!
vista's great for me, works fine just that maplestory and some pdf printer thingy ive got doesnt work well, dual boot/virtual pc fixes those problems XD
Boot into your Vista CD; and then once it's booted, click on the recovery option (lower left I believe)... Then just say check for start-up problems... It should repair your bootloader to Vista's, and set up a dual boot with XP... ;) If not, just use EasyBCD to do that...
That's funny. I had some Blue Screen of Deathly (BSOD) also with your same reason... I'm wondering what actually causes that... I think XP doesn't like Vista. :D
I installed the /ntldr from the site but I still can't install my copy of xp onto my xp partition. It installs on the vista version, even though I have a different partition for xp and it won't let me choose on the windows set-up blue screen.
lol, Well if you know what normally causes the BSOD, it's actually a good thing, in the sense that it stops the current operation from potentially damaging your hardware, or you already have bad hardware. (Though, don't get me wrong. BSOD seems more common in software related issues. lol) So maybe something with the bootloader messed up in such a way, that it calls the BSOD. No idea why it would happen because of a Vista install though. lol (Not all that Knowledgeable to be honest.)

If you don't know what an operating system is, then you most likely don't know any other terms and so on, therefore you shouldn't be doing this.

I have always thought about a thing.
If i Install Linux on my computer (No Dual.boot) and then if i format and install only Vista, will Grub still be there?
Or when I deleate all partitions and installs Vista, will it replace Grub with Vistas Bootloader?
thanks for answer :-)

I have basically the same thing. I have two partitions
vista c:
xp c: (I don't have it downloaded yet)
I go to boot menu and install from my official xp cd and it goes to a blue screen that says installing windows xp...
further on it says on the bottom after I have already downloaded a mess-load of drivers, it says Setting-up Windows Xp...
then 3 seconds later, it crashes, any ideas?
