I installed windows 7 yesterday using clean install, i had vista but i wanted to make a complete restart. when i chose clean it said that i had an installed operating system and that it was going to be moved to a folder called windows.old
when the install was succesfull all my programs was gone but when i open the hardrive C, everything in my download folder etc is still there.
1. did i do a clean install or did i accidently press upgrade?
2. can i simply delete the folder called windows.old?
Yes you can, but when you installed you should have went into the advanced options and formatted your primary partition to ensure the install was "truly" clean. it'll work the way you've done it, but you may run into issues later on down the road with "ghost settings" that were never removed completely...
What O/S are you trying to upgrade? Vista? My video was showing that a "pre-release" could be upgraded without a clean install, from what I understand you need a clean install if your not running a pre-beta build. I don't think they have fully worked out the bugs for a "vista" upgrade yet.
when i try and upgrade to widnows 7 it keeps on telling me i need sp1 or higher and i manually downloaded it and upgraded restarted the computer and then tried to install again and i had the same problem... any help

When upgrading your settings stay the same... with a few minor adjustments due to how windows 7 handles your files.

tried to replace original soundtrack with one from youtube, but it didn't "take"... Might need time to "update", so for now just mute the volume...
