there's NO way Americans can be forced to turn in their weapons. Are there or has there been any circumstance in America's history where a condition existed that allowed federal authorites to "override," the protection given by our Constitution?
Maybe I'm asking an ignortant question but the 2nd amendment is bugging me or actually...
As Charleton Heston said "From my cold dead hands" the second amendment is not a living document open to change by anyone, we the people ARE the militia....freedom thanks to guns
The ORIGINAL drafts of the 2nd Amendment that were submitted to Congress for approval ALL said, "A well-regulated Militia COMPOSED OF THE BODY OF THE PEOPLE being necessary...". The only reason they took out the boldfaced clause was because THEY CONSIDERED IT *REDUNDANT* because it was UNDERSTOOD AT THE TIME that the word "Militia" was for ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES a SYNONYM of "the People"!
After the Port Arthur Massacre in Australia PM John Winston Howard used it as an excuse to disarm the citizens. He is up for election on 24th November 2007. Who caused the massacre ? Who wanted the disarming ? Trust me says Howard !
What bothers me so much is that so many people only look at firearms for two purposes: 1. Killing, 2. Hunting. They then argue that because certain firearms are not used for hunting that they should be banned. What they failure to realize is that the purpose of the Second Amendment is much larger than that. It is there to ensure we the people can keep our country free. The Second Amendment is there to protect all other rights.
Doesn't it piss you off just a little that with all the brilliant minds that created our Constitution, they didn't make the wording of the 2nd amendment crystal clear.
Actually the problem wasn't with Our Founding Fathers. The wording is clear enough, it is our so-called officials today that are distorting the meaning for their own agenda
English grammar rules have changed somewhat since the 18th Century. If written using today's grammar and idiom, it would likely read:
"Because a well-armed and well-equipped Populace is necessary to the security of a free State, the Right of the People to keep and bear any hand-wielded weaponry and ammo for same shall not be infringed."
the second amendment is not about hunting or target shooting it is about being able to take up arms against our own government if our government is going to enslave the people of the USA. and believe me they are trying! DON'T GIVE UP YOUR FIREARMS!
There is no confusion, my friend. There is a socialist movement that believes in the good of the state over that of the individual, so they twist and pervert our constitution to support their position. Those ignorant of history buy into this tripe. Of all the writings discussing the development of the Constitution, not ONE ever alluded to a state militia when addressing the Second Amendment. It's hogwash!
The second amendment builds a "checks and balances" scenario. It acknowledges that in order to be free and stay free, that free state must have a well-regulated militia. Due to the historical nd inherent problems with a state-controlled militia, it further guarantees that the PEOPLE will maintiain their individual right to defend themselves, should this militia get out of hand.
So what i'm hearing here is-
there's NO way Americans can be forced to turn in their weapons. Are there or has there been any circumstance in America's history where a condition existed that allowed federal authorites to "override," the protection given by our Constitution?
Maybe I'm asking an ignortant question but the 2nd amendment is bugging me or actually...

"The Second Amendment was given to us as protection against tyranny by the federal government and the Congress of the United States."
Its time for a militia to overthrow the Whitehouse.
