  • have seen the vogues at least 5 times the songs they sing are classic. go western pa!!!!

  • one of the best groups of always

my best regards to the vogues

    from México City

    Miguel Ponce

  • I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed. It's perfection!!!!

  • Thanks so much for sharing this!

  • They are still my favorite group as I grew

up with them! They don't make music

like they used to. I miss the old songs.

  • Comments 5, 6 and 7 sound "eeriely" like the words I wrote on wikipedia not too long ago.

  • Yeah these guys are nothing like the original Vogues. I would give anything for an original Vogues reunion. Personally, I don't even know how they can use the name. What a disgrace to probably the best music of the 60s.

  • all 4 of the original vogues did reunite for their induction into the vocal hall of fame in 2001. they were a 1,000 times worse than this version of the vogues (get the DVD of that year and see for yourself !). they can use the name because the 1st & 3rd guys from the left ARE THE ORIGINALS!! i wonder how long it will take people to realize the vogues were a studio creation and not that good "live".

  • Apparently you never heard the orgininal Vogues sing live. The were awesome and not a "studio creation" like so many groups of the 60's were. Yes the reunion at the VGHOF was bad, but Bill and Hugh are back with the touring Vogues and sound GREAT. Hugh was in Chuck's group when this video was made.

  • there was a place called the Moose Lodge in Lawrenceville (Pittsburgh, PA); I had the pleasure of hearing the ORIGINAL Vogues live. They weren't just a studio creation.....gawd, I miss days like that

  • (1of6)This was and still is one of the best singing group so I did some research, here's what I found. The orignial Vogues came from Turtle Creek, PA a suburb of Pittsburgh. They didn't call themselves by that name when they first started. Their names are Bill Burkette (lead baritone), Don Miller (baritone), Hugh Geyer (first tenor) and Chuck Blasko (second tenor) and were originally called the Val-Airs.

  • (2of6)Their first and only record under group name Val-Airs was "Launie, My Love" which didn't do too well until their manager Elmer Willett distributed it on the Coral Records label. Soon after that record label distribution they changed their name to The Vogues, derived from the name of a popular teenage dance hall, Vogue Terrace in North Versailles, PA. Soon they signed a contract with Ce Records and recorded "You're The One" which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

  • (3of6)They followed it with "Five O'Clock World" which reached #4, then they recorded 2 more hits "Magic Town" and "The Land Of Milk and Honey" which didn't do too well but still made Billboard's Top 40 in 1966. Their sound didn't fit with the trend of rock and roll and their recording career dwindled until they signed with Reprise Records in 1968. They had a string of hits including Glen Campbell's "Turn Around, Look At Me," My Special Angel,"

  • (4of6)"Till" previously recorded by Roger Williams, Percy Faith and the group The Angels. They also recorded "No Not Much," "Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)," "Moments To Remember," and "Green Fields." The groups popularity fell again in the 1970's but various singers and groupings continued to use the name "The

Vogues" into the 2000's. Chuck Blasko lobbied Congress to make changes in trademark laws to prevent others from misrepresenting themselves as being original artists.

  • (5of6)Blasko was then performing with other artists as "Chuck Blasko's Five O'clock World Reunion." In March, 2007 Hugh Geyser, who had briefly toured with Blasko's group the year before, is now touring the country with the trademark Vogues Blasko continues to perform as Chuck Blasko And The Vogues in the 14 Western Pennsylvania counties that were awarded to him by the courts.

  • (6)Today, both groups contain original members of The Vogues and as of May, 2008 original lead vocalist Burkette has joined Geyer touring the country with the trademark Vogues. The current performing members include Burkette, Geyer, Jim Campagne, Stan Elich, and Troy Elich on vocals.

  • (7)Rounding out the group is Tom Lamb (guitar and Musical Director), Artie Delonardis (drums), Dean Mastragelo (keybroards) and Rich Gooch (bass). The original group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame in 2001 and the music goes on.

  • Ive know and worked with Chuck and and Hugh for quiet some time , Never with the touring Project that Hugh is with but I have the utmost respect for both of them as indivsuals. I Have spent many shows listening to "old stories of being in the studios" and CHERISH each and every one. And Boe Im sory for putting the light in your eyes many years ago in Export, if your reading this......fred

  • yeah.. because this song was originally recorded in .. what.. the 60s? all because of Final Destination 3. goodjob.

  • wow, what a way to take a joke, huh?

  • ummm, folks,. this ain't the real vogues ....

  • This is 50% of the original Vogues. The first and third guys from the left are originals. Most of the originals have left the group for at least 20 years. The first guy on the left is the only member who has never bailed out of the group and has continually performed for the last 44 years. Unfortunately NO version of the Vogues has vocally ever sounded like records we all love. Even the old video clips you see of the original guys are not live, they're ALL lip-synced.

  • One of only a handful of true love songs ever produced.Thank You all members of the Vogues, for this and the other love songs you all sang and inspired.

  • I still get the creeps from this song..lol..i feel like I'm in more danger listening to this.

  • Don't go getting on no rollercoasters when ya hear this one playing on the radio ... FD3!!!

  • There is someone, walking behind you..... final destination<--lol

  • sound FX =)

  • timeless!!
