I would not have believed that any human could play guitar like this except I saw it with my own eyes...doesn't seem humanly possible!! Scotty A, you are legendary!! I love you from your lil blue eyed cousin on the little south fork.
I am just bedazzled by this absolutely amazing guitar playing by Scotty and I think that we should also salute Bob Saxton as well.I have trawled Utube and very few others come up to his standard. 'Seven Cicles' put is so well in a recent posting by saying that Scotty is almost alone in his greatness in both his technique and improvising . I totally agree, well said.
what we should all care about is that talent like Gatton, Shawn Lane, Breau, Scotty and others seems to go unappreciated.......whose fault is this? agents? fans? record companies? players who don't commit fully? producers who don't allow for real personal expression? SO everyone share this guy"s vids with your friends and enjoy the sounds. Don't be a youtube critic and don't pontificate about your favorites...just enjoy!
Glen Campbell can also play like this.. Jerry Reed used to be able to play like this. I have seen Glen hang playing with George Benson note for note.... but you can always tell a country player when they play jazz... the feel....
gtrplyr013 bullshit Glen Campbell and Jerry Reed used to play like this or Vince Gill, albert lee, brad paisley. Scotty is the best living and the best ever with lenny breau and danny gatton. mastercollector/gattonmaster
the best ever is hard to say.. I would assume he is a good player in that style.. to say best ever is pretty subjective... What about George Benson? what about John McLaughlin? what about Tal Farlow? Jim Hall? Pat Martino. From a personal standpoint it sounds like country swing.. the sound to me is quite dated. I am sure that there are a lot of fans for this kind of thing out there, but for me I need more contemporary sounds...
Scotty have got the greatest technique I must say. He is not as original and important as John Mclaughlin but when it comes to technique and improvising hard runs he is almost alone in his greatness among players active today.
many speeddemons use very low action and thin strings
Scotty doesn´t even though he uses his fingernails as a flatpick when doing doublestops
cprattguitar, email me your address and I'll send you a Gatton 35 minute cd, then I want you to tell all the youtube Gatton, Scotty, and Lenny fans what you think. No explanation needed, the cd will explain in detail my point!!!
Hey man, I'm not trying to cause a scene, I just have noticed a pattern every where I see your name. I've heard Gatton a lot, he's nice, but Breau? WOW!

You really can hear the Country style in this great jazz.. Why did my guitar club fold, and turn into a 'folksey' affair! Great fellas.

Oh my. "Gattonmaster" please don't mention Danny Gatton in the same sentence as Lenny Breau. Thank you!
