  • hi, i installed IE7pro to get ris of the annoying sound ads but i cannot get it to block sound ads. i have ad blocker enabled (no flash blocking though). any tips on what i could do to get rid of the "congratulations you won"-kind of ads?

    thanks for uploading!

  • @meursault07 - Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools > Internet options, click on Security tab then click Restricted Sites, click on Sites enter URL click Add and click Ok on open windows :-)

  • I use this purely for the ad block which blocks 75% of Ads my question is how do i block the other 25% belonging to Microsoft ie Google, utube, Msn, etc

  • @ PL585 - Try using WinPatrol and also change your cookie settings in IE :-)

  • Does IE7Pro work with Internet Explorer 8 on a Windows 7 PC? Is there any bugs or compatibility issues?

  • mastergamer619 - It won't run with IE8 on Win7. It appears that the creators have given up updating it as the forums have been overrun by spammers :-(

  • just downloaded and I have no AD blocker why is that?

  • WalkingDude19 - Try the help forums at IE7Pro. It may just be a temporary glitch and sometimes uninstall and reinstall will solve the problem :-)

  • Adblocker isn't enabled by default.

  • gorescam - Thank you :-)

Many of the settings need to be manually started :-)

  • best way ever to avoid issues with IE is simple - avoid it. WHO besides libraries and hospitals etc would use IE when theres Mozilla and Opera??

  • mrrotweiler2 - Statistics show that around 64% of users have IE as there preferred browser.

If they are happy using it that is the users choice, but using small addons that make it safer can enhance their safety :-)

  • haha well you know as well as me that half of them have NO choice (workplaces etc) and the rest are mostly clueless newbies :)

  • mrrotweiler2 - I am well aware that many have no option and others are new to the internet, which is why I hope to help a little toward educating users to secure their computers and surf safely.

I was new to the internet once too, something not to forget, and simply share knowledge :-)

  • hehe then youre much more noble than me, cuss my ONLY advice would, and forever WILL be, this -

do not use IE under any circumstance. Full stop.

IF some sites requires IE support use FF and Prefbar, with that excellent tool you can disguise/fake your referrer header to anything you like, to fool the site youre visiting in thinion youre on IE -

  • js:useragent="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)"; appname="Microsoft Internet Explorer"; appversion="4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)"; platform="Win32";

And then you can freely visit any site that requires IEsupport AND with the uberbonus of WAY more secure browsing (cough activex cough) =)

  • mrrotweiler2 - I use FF with IE Tab integrated, NoScript, AdBlockPlus, Finjan, WOT, robtex, netcraft, whois, Trusted Sources, Unmask parasites, Fiddler2 to name just a few.

I visit many malware sites and actively download malware, rogue programs and viruses and backward check through various apps to find the original sources and links so that they can be rated and added to blacklists.

    Safe surfing? Sandboxie :-)

  • nice list :) i use Noscript, customizegoogle, Prefbar, ADB EH, Ref control, Redirect remover, FireFTP (for my site hehe), Stealther, Torbutton etc, sure its not foolproof BUT its helluva lot safer than IE for sure :p

Hehe if i had a webcam id make similar vids, theres tons of stuff to cover that you havent done (yet) ;o

  • mrrotweiler2 - I use many other apps to check sites and IP lookups so that they can be blacklisted if necessary.

As you say, there is a lot of other stuff to cover but time is the enemy and I spend a great deal of time assisting others as well running my site.

Malware changes, technology changes and for many users it is a steep learning curve, so keeping it simple so that more users can benefit works for me and for many of my readers :-)

  • What a neat program! :)

  • n310ea - It's a very neat little addon for those who use IE and easy to customize too :D

  • Opera and Firefox for me. Wouldn't hurt to still upgrade IE, for those Microsoft upgrades.

Great job Cotojo, as always! :)

  • reborntheglassbatch - Thank you :)

FF for me too, but the majority still use IE so this will enhance their security.

  • I agree, IE needs security upgrades. So this will greatly help it become a better browser for those that use it. Thanks for informing everyone! :)

  • reborntheglassbatch - Anything that will make surfing safer and browsers more secure will benefit many.

    Have a good weekend :D

  • Also this addon is made my microsoft correct?

  • Hizan546 - No it is not made by Microsoft, it's an addon from innoshock. If MS made it IE would be much safer LOL

  • Lol :P

  • very useful addon..but im a firefox fan..lol

  • Yep, same.

  • Parilblade001 - Ditto LOL

But as I deal with PC security and the majority do use IE this is something that I hope will help them.

  • IE8 is not 64bit compatible. :(

I know because I've downloaded it.

  • 13yearoldpcfreak - Sadly, there are a LOT of programs and addons that are NOT 64bit compatible, maybe this is something that will be addressed in the near future :-)
