in marilyn's case "conspiracy" is the truth if you study the evidence and keep an open mind. nothing like contempt prior to investigation. there is overwhelming evidence tghat she is murdered including her autopsy. the drug percentage found in her blood was so high it could only have reached that level from injection. she would have died long before it got that high thru any other means of entering her body. the truth is out there if you want it.
I believe it had something to do with this movie being Marilyn Monroe's final film before her mysterious death that many believed to be a conspiracy. I guess it gave an eerie feeling
@OppressiveHateTerror I don't belive in most of the conspiracies, i think Marilyn died of pill's overdose, John Lennon because a disturbed man shot to him and Michael Jackson becasue he was an hypochondriac taking sleeping pills.
This is almost unbearable to watch. Monroe had everything going for her physically and yet she was probably as unhappy with her life as any woman could be. Miller crafted the lines but some couldn't have been more heartbreaking if she had written them herself.
@sugarcane32 I didn't said she was skinny. I said that she is not fat! Fat is fat, hot is hot, skinny is skinny and normal is normal. but she is not fat not even a little bit.
To describe this movie as overwrought is being kind. However, it remains fascinating. MIller's screenplay is heavy and unfortunate, as much as the too soon, after production deaths of Monroe and Gable. But the performances are magnificent (especially, the stoned Monroe's). And, that horse breaking scene would have killed any Brett Butler. RIP (Marilyn, Clark, Monty and Thelma). The terrific Eli is still kicking.
I'm not sure, but I think this is the movie she was getting ready for in the episode of Quantum Leap where Sam leaped in and was her butler or something...but don't hold me to that
I have this and love it.A dying Americana western culture as a backdrop for some lost souls needing something to believe in.We had stories then not soundbites.
i watched this movie two days ago at like 3 am on tcm but it was worth staying up it is one of my favorites and i think it is funny how like everybody who played in it hated it and died

Very unusual film and terminally underrated. This out of control and terribly unfocused trailer does the film zero favors.

I love early 60s movie trailers. I really and truly do. This and the original trailer for The Hustler are among my favorites.

Weird that Danzig would choose this movie to name his band after, but it's a cool name.

why is the old voices always sooo damn high?
ultravioletgaia 1 year ago
@ultravioletgaia They used higher voices back then because speakers of the day did not handle deeper tones very well.

I recommend "The Story of The Misfits" by James Goode. It's from 1963, but I was able to find it in the library.

It's a good movie... just kind of hard to get into at first. I love older movies just not westerns so it was so so.

This isn't really a western.
PeterFirthFan 2 years ago
It is more western than my liking. I know because I watched it.
And when I think about western movies I think about horses and country settings and roughnecks... and this movie has all 3.
GamerGirlCOD5 2 years ago
They wouldn't be allowed to make this film nowadays because of the scenes with Gable roping the horses.
PeterFirthFan 2 years ago
@PeterFirthFan Oh I think I'd be fine, they have people fucking horses for God's sake nowadays.
