  • I got an idea... why don't YOU take responsibility and have a BAKE SALE??!!

  • EDBUMACHATION SUCKS MY DIcK

  • hey you know what? fuck art, fuck music, oh and..FUCK YOU!

  • Smart child! We need art and music and other electives to meet all the children's different talents!

  • I agree with you, global warming is a problem.life"s a bitch you can cry all you want, the boat still come in .

  • You got your words wrong haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • ok... i would assume 40%(ish) of people in this country can not afford to pay for private school.

  • And the communities that have no money for charities get no schooling? That's fantastic. That sends a chain reaction of much worse problems.

  • "Most of the UK's top private schools are run as charitable trusts."

How well does that work? It's been something like 20 years since I last looked into how well public schools stack up against private schools in the US and back then I found that they were roughly equal. Violence was less in the private schools but academics were roughly equal. How does it work out in the UK?

  • The problem here is that the Democrats have no good answers to education. Look at their track record. No doubt I'll relay my own thoughts in a vldeo soon.

  • "The problem here is that the Democrats have no good answers to education."

No other political party has advanced any better solution. Don't single out one Party when they're all guilty of the same lack of careing.

A dumb populace is a tax-paying, non-questioning populace, one that feels it needs "leaders." We don't --need-- leaders. We need higher standards, more disipline and punishment in our schools.

No politican of any party will do what's right or what's needed.

  • I can tell ya what they are going to say to that one.. Oh lets spend some more money...standard Democrat answer to any problem.

  • haha, probly right Bocist!

  • Imperialism is aswome yeah lets take over the damn planet

  • People this is for the democratic debate!

  • "Eliminate 100% of the military!"

Nations --do-- need to defend themselves and look out for their national interest around the world. I'd appreciate eliminating the offensive corporate Imperialism and concentrate on actual defense.

  • "All schools should be privately run by charities"

We would end up with a cult-centered education system just like Iran, only with a Christanic focus, and with a populace of massively ignorant cultists who have no idea what constitutes science and reason.

An ignorant, superstitious populace is incapable of competing in a global marketplace where the populace actually gets educated.

  • Oh, was gonna mention that myself "rip". Yeah Josh, you kinda look "13ish" not 15. True? Maybe because You's Tube might give a younger fellow a prob 'bout being here??

  • As one who teaches(in Fl) get rid of all the standardized testing. Whole ciriculums are now created just to pass a stupid test. Not sure what Mass is like but i'm sure they have a yearly test that they stress you pass and do well on.

  • "Whole ciriculums are now created just to pass a stupid test."

--heh-- And text books were created and sold to the public schools specially to teach how to pass standardized tests. LOL! Economics kind of drive everything and I think the consequences is an ever-dumber population.

Steve Allen the popular intellectual and commedian wrote the book "Dumbth" to describe the ever-steepening spiral into stupidity we seem to suffer.

  • i woulds like make schoo; whit uniforme and make boys school and girl school no mix and i woulds make 1 houre of gym every days etc there woulds be lest troble in the school

  • looks like we need more time in grammar too. XD

  • Eliminate 90% of the military and its budget so that there's money for covering educational arenas -- not only secondary subjects but also primary subjects.

The US spends billions slaughtering innocent children around the world. Our tax dollars at work.

  • Josh, You really look like your 11,12 years old.

  • You are dead on Josh! Music and art is math and decision making. It is also organization skill training. That is why all the technology is leaving the US. You are right on the money.

  • Forget THAT! 'Zup with your HAIR man?! Looks kinda....um..WET or somethin'. Anywho, as far as bringing back classes such as a LONGER Gym class. I'm instituting, "Sweat Socks Across America". See, we all hold these sweat socks see, like one in each hand, then we kinda STRETCH them, and everybody holds the next person's sock and so on, and so on...Maybe we CAN stretch them ACROSS AMERICA! Just to make a point about LONGER Gym class! Or...just, oh I don't know....um...just SCREW IT!

  • I agree with kurtmac and notallhereyet...the canadate must support education programs in order for them to work. If we had a govt that was behind music, art, and sports programs in school and not so much "lets pass this test or you and your school fail" we might be better off.

To be more well rounded you need things like poetry, art, etc.

  • Insightful question. I hope you get some good answers.

  • well, obiously need teachers with more knowledge and that stuff, teachers more responsibles, but howeva man i think the high school is like a picnic i mean is like a break in ur life, and it aways have been like that

    ma question for u is

do u really like more strict school?

  • lalo6...Sorry but I can not let this pass. I know you may be in a hurry while typing, but PLEASE PROOFREAD your work before you actually post the comment! I'm not saying this to be mean or anything, I dont mean it that way!

  • PS... The number of tax dollars we pay specifically for schools keep increasing, and yet the school budgets keep getting cut every year. I'd like someone to explain that.....

  • It's for the democratic debate

  • Interesting. I'd think it'd only show on the debate, but it shows as a public vid. Hence it's naturally going to get comments unrelated to the debate. Maybe this is a case for making a comment stating what it's for, and then disabling comments? I dunno.

  • Comment removed

  • anmoose, just a guess here, but in all the years I've been in a school district, I would say one of the main reasons for the increased tax dollars probably has to do with having to pay the underserved superintendents salary, or their unneeded assistants! At least thats the case in this district!!!

  • Remember, our country wasn't built on a 2 party system. It *created* a 2 party system after the fact. And it's not working...

Our school systems are now in the *worst* condition in history, and I blame our current regime for not only not doing anything to improve it, but making it even worse.

  • anmoose.. ahh- wasen't for you to answer

  • Oh..... Nevermind then. Maybe you should specify who's allowed...

  • When school budgets are voted down, the first thing to get cut are art, music and sports programs. The public should demand that the first thing to be cut is the superintendent's salary.

  • I'm a teacher: as long as "No Child Left Behind" puts the focus on you passing standardized tests as opposed to being a well rounded human, you're stuck. See, the government wants to be sure teachers are doing their job teaching you and tests are the only tools they have. Write your legislators on all levels and demand your education be well rounded and not limited to only tangible answers on some standardized test.

  • That is the down side of "no child left behind". School funding is based on how well schools do on standardized test. teachers are having to prepare students for the tests. the problem is education should be more than passing a test. unionkid15 is right things like art and music get left out, but they should be part of real education.

  • To improve the education programs, I will vote for a candidate who supports them. Offtopic (a bit), it doesn't help that our current president doesn't support educational programs and doesn't believe in science (or know history) - sorry, cheap shot, but had to be said.
