Im a import guy but today i drove my bro in laws 71 maverick and it was awesome!

these bumpers are original for the brazilian maverick. The story goes like this: since we did not have a "Ralph Nader" in Brazil until the 80es, the regulations on bumpers were quite light; therefore, the bumbers remained the same as seen in 70-71 US Mavericks, throughout the existence of Mavericks in Brazil (up to 79). i am 20 years old i have worked on my maverick since i was 12 i knew what i am talking about, i have worked on chevys, pontaic, olds, mustangs(dont care for them),firebirds, honda toyota nissan/datsun too but the hondas and the other are just in my opinion very poorly put together

I have a 1971 ford maverick with a real motor a 1969 302 out of a '69 fairline with a 9 inch rear end built for a straight six motor, and just regular mantace and i get 28 miles to the gallon so fuck off honda and you little four cyclinder bitches i am tired off seeing people talking about nonsense let me put it in plain english there is no replacement for displacemnet meaning cubic inches for ladies you want a wide long PEN15(old school V-8,Straight 6,falthead V-8)not some ED little PEN15(4Cyl)

@Tedron24 The pipes were machined locally, no special "brand name". The mufflers are Brazilian made, one muffler at each port. The thing is, the original V8 Mavericks in Brazil used 8x1 rigs, but in this one we changed that to 4x2 with a "v" crossover. Thanks for showing up ;)

how many miles per gallon wil i get i have a 1970 maverick with a 302 from a 83 mustang with 4 barrel holley carb. and eddlebrok intake manifold and duel exhaust

I think that as a rule of thumb, such swap won't produce any changes in mileage, as the cars weigh fairly the same, and all the mechanics (gear box etc.) will be similar. One thing is for sure, this is no "economy recipe" as these engines are quite guzzlers.

@erwinclaus Bligadu! o crossover é em V, Quem fez foi o Paulinho, da Escapepar aqui de Curitiba, no filme não dá para ver mas os canos são todos dobrados em máquina especial, e passam por cima do diferencial. Tudo discreto e parecido com o que se fazia nos mavericks americanos.

Mas enfim. Como os cilindros geram pressões de escape em TEMPOS diferentes, se não houver uma "ligação" entre o "cano" da esquerda" e o "cano da direita", o que vai ocorrer é que o excesso de pressão de um "lado" não poderá escoar para a zona de depressão do "outro lado", ou seja, haverá uma sobrecarga de linha, e isso pode causar aquele "balançar" do motor, parecendo um pangaré velho andando (estou exagerando e super-simplificando). Crossovers podem ser realizados em X, em H, em Y.

If this Maverick have 302 CUI block so it's 1350kg according to Ford.

I6 cyls are lighter.
