I'm not sure if you were watching the shanghai 2011 results, but Lochte picked up 4 individual Golds, And the 4x2 relay gold. We already know Lochte has 100 free speed from PanPacs 2010, and he got to represent US in the 100 back in Melbourne 2007, so he has also shown backstroke speed. If he can become the best 100 backstroker, and get on the US 4x1 fr and medley relay in London, watch out.

Don't forget Lochte is getting older and competing in so many races will be very tough, and he will have very tough competition from other swimmers including Michael Phelps.

It will be very difficult for him to achieve it, honestly I think the chance at him making the American team in London for the 100 back is very unlikely, but the possibility is still there. Lochte is definitely not in as a good a position as Phelps was heading into Beijing. I can't wait to watch the 200 free and 200 IM battles between Phelps and Lochte in London.
