  • Rio de Janeiro. I'm a fan of aviation and wonder if anyone can tell me what the cost of flight hours of P-8? I tried google and nothing! P3 bought my country last year of its navy and was apparently a good deal. The time of flight it is very cheap. The range is very good in relation to the P-8. I read that it has shorter range. And it is much larger than the P-3. I appreciate the help.

  • P8 is a WHITE ELEPHANT.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to replace a naval 4 engine turboprop with a wide 737-body airliner with 2 jet engines.

    IMPOSSIBLE

  • @centurion180ad

P3 production in the US ended in the early 90s. Production in Japan ended in 2000. The cost of restarting (tooling and mfg) after 20 years would be pretty significant.

The P8 engines have ETOPS 180, but it doesn't have the range or loiter time of the P3. But what alternative is there?

  • it's not built in Seattle it's built in Renton.

  • @yoyoyoyoshua

The fuselage is built in Wichita, in Renton it's turned into basically a normal 737, and in Seattle all the military systems are added to make it a P-8

  • awesome!

  • I love the new wings!!!

  • @chomkohome new for the 737-800. the 737-900 had them... from what I remember
