I kinda disliked this episode too. Moffatt mis-characterized the Doctor who only the episode before had said he would never leave Rose. Then he went and left her stranded for what he thought could be forever. Very strange.

That said, I totally see when this video came from.

I like Rose and Reinette but admittedly the Doc got jus a tad carried away in this ep - he was so... excited! :D lol fantastic vid btw, i see i'm not the only one who saw how angry/venemous Rose looked thru most the ep. But it still made me cry when she thot she'd lost the Doctor forever :'(

PERFECT!!!! I hated this episode, because of A)reinette (stupid french tart) and B)the doctor was totally out of character! He's not supposed to abandon his companions so he can snog other women and dance and act sooooooo stupid and unlike himself. Poor Rose was shunted aside in this ep. And it's so nice to have 10/Rose video for gitf, rather than 10/reinette I loathe that girl.

Anyway...really good video, and I LOVE this song.

And Rose should have slapped him :D

Oh I know!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOATHE River Song, even more than Reinette, which I thought I'd never say! She is like: ARRRRRRRRR so annoying!!! Prettyboy??? I mean wtf!? He could never love her??? NO WAY!!! You know those skeletons in suits? I put River Song on the helmet, and then wrote "Whoops, I killed her! what a shame!" It's a great desktop!!!

The Doctor had to save Reinette in order to preserve the Timeline. Remember what happened in Father's Day when a man who was supposed to die lived? What would happen if a woman died who was supposed to live?. The Reapers may well have swooped in and destroyed everything.

The Doctor didn't abandon Rose. All he had to do was stay on the slow path until he ran into himself, and then he could borrow the TARDIS to get back. One and Susan spent time in Revolutionary France for example.

It doesn't explain blatent disregard for her- you'll see in my video he hardly notices her and pushes her aside. Your argument also doesn't explain him going off dancing while leaving rose and mickey to fight killer droids- he didn't even think to go and help

Well, for starters the Doctor didn't know that they had been captured by the killer droids...And he DID tell them to stay put and not go looking for trouble. If anything, the Doctor's actions speak of his confidence in Rose's ability to take care of herself (and Mickey).

are we talking about the same part?- he gives rose the extinguisher as pushes her into the mirror to hunt them down. Then he mind probes rienette and goes of dancing. He doesn't help at all. It speaks of his stupidity that he makes rose hunt those monsters while he did nothing knowing she could get hurt in the first place

Ah, that part. Well, there's no denying that the Doctor got distracted at that moment. But on the other hand Rose and Mickey had gone exploring on their own after first encountering the killer robots, so they don't seem especially frightened of them and if anything seem to be eager to do it. The Doctor told them to only observe the robots and not to engage them. The problem came in when Mickey and Rose started arguing and not paying attention. That's when the robots got them.

They were told to not wander off, because Companions always wander off. It's their reason d'etre. Wander off, get rescued by the Doctor. Complaining about Ten dancing with M du P is like complaining about Five going off with Todd in Kinda, while Tegan was asleep under the Eeeeevvvvvviiiilllll windchimes and getting all possessed by the Mara. Stuff happens.

i doubt smarts make a difference compared to the doctor. Both rienette and rose are stupid apes in comparison. Its not about him letting her get harmed either its the fact he would let her go off hunting killer robots with mickey endangering their lives while what does he do- dance. does he think of helping - no. its luck the fact he got there in time and even then he never took it seriously.

Woah, awsome. just watched a load of Doctor/ Rienette love song type vids and this was a slap in the face. You really captured Rose's subtle venonous looks that I'd never seen before. Hadn't realised what a really good acress Billy Piper was.

I'm glad that i've been able to do something different and its appreciated. I think Rose had a right to give venomous looks though considering the position she was in. Billie is a stunning actress- who would have guessed a few years back?

You have the exact point of view I had when I first saw this episode XD I was fuming with the Doctor for not seeming to care about Rose and I was very puzzled by the Doctor's personality in that ep. The Doctor 'isn't that sort of man!' He wouldn't go round snogging historical figures! It just didn't seem like it was the Doctor in that ep, Steven Moffat went a little bit too far.

i think moffat just wanted rose and mickey out the way so he could get the doctor and rienette to flirt.Considering it was the last ep he could write for rose and mickey i would have thought he'd have taken advantage but no he ignores them!

this is a really good choice of song, particularly the line "am i just some chick you placed beside you", cuz it really shows the way the doctor has x number of companions over the years, just pretty girl after pretty girl, and rose's face at that line just fits so perfectly. the way you matched events with the music kicking in, like when the clockwork robots jumped up again, was so good. well done :)

thanks that was what i was aiming for :D Don't get me wrong i love ten as much as the next person but this episode showed him in an awful light- neglecting his companions for a woman he'd known hours. Going dancing while he told them to hunt the monsters. By the end i wasn't upset rienette died at all and thought it was the doctor's come uppance for his behaviour

martha is being ignored too but its not like this where its almost adultery. I say almost because they aren't together but we know that they really are a couple like DT says 'a couple without the shagging'. So he runs off with another woman and in the process Rose almost gets chopped to bits and even then he can't take it seriously. Thats until he realises that he can't get back to the ship and suddenly becomes all sad about it- asshole. Thank for the compliment on the vid though! :D
