  • if that touched his bat ... would that have been a caught out when the fielder took the ball out?

  • @zerounite No since the ball did hit him on the glove first, but he wasn't out. Commentator said he would've been out (caught by wk) had the helmet not saved him.

  • HOWZAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!! Caught :D:D:D:D

(yes, i know it's dead ball :P, just joking <- in case some TRU cricket fans want to shout)

  • Howzat?

  • this happened in a game i was playing in except it was in the keepers helmet

  • was it out?

  • nah dead ball

  • Hahaha remember watching this game.

    Lol @ Slat's laugh.

  • a truely a games spirit displayed by west indies, paki players would have claimed the catch

  • 0:19

    Fail.

  • YO he could of been out

  • It cannot be out as the ball is immediately dead.

From the Laws of Cricket - Law 23.1

"(a) The ball becomes dead when...

    (v) ... it lodges in the clothing or equipment of a batsman or the clothing of an umpire."

  • @RSVPBlogger lol if it got stuck in his underwear

  • @RSVPBlogger but would it be out if the batsman tried to take it out himself? for handling the ball or whatever its called (not that i think he would deserve to be out, im just curious)

  • @Pepsimaximo1 - It is fine for the batsman to retrieve the ball, and he cannot be out. Under the laws, once the ball is dead a batman cannot get out under ANY circumstances. As a famous example - there was a time when Mark Waugh knocked over his leg stump with his bat during an Ashes test. He was declared 'not out' because the wicket-keeper had already taken the delivery and thrown the ball back to the bowler, which Law 23 specifically identifies as one of the ways the ball becomes dead.

  • @ozvoxhumana oh alrite

  • @RSVPBlogger THey were talking about if it completely missed him and went straight up in the air.

  • lmao, thats rather funny :D

  • 0586730O2 man he didnt hit the ball so it wasnt a catc thats why they didnt claim it

  • it actually hit is gloves, but due to it being stuck in his helmet the ball is declared dead

  • If it comes off the gloves or any part of the hand rather its counted as a shot. But in rule 23.1 its dead straight away as it got stuck in his helmet. Incase you didnt know already.

  • hahaha this is funny!

  • could they not claim a catch as it hadn't hit the ground when the guy retrieved it from the helmet

  • pretty sure it counts as a dead ball if it gets lodged in grill/pads etc

  • Dashineyezzz dats why we are World Champions

  • Comment removed

  • and you don't know what you're on about.

  • ...........howza?

  • on my helmet the ball goes right through there

  • hmm...helmets are more useful than I thought.

  • Why? Isn't that what it is supposed to do? hahah He's lucky though.

  • I'd have thrown my helmet for 4 ;)

  • Lmao! you my friend have just made my day XD

  • Law 23: Dead ball. The ball comes into play when the bowler begins his run up, and becomes dead when all the action from that ball is over. While the ball is dead, no runs can be scored and no batsmen can be dismissed. The ball also becomes dead when a batsman is dismissed.

  • The ball then becomes dead when any of the following situations occur:

The ball lodges in the clothing or equipment of a batsman or umpire.

The ball lodges in a protective helmet worn by a fielder.

(source reduced but taken from MCC Laws of Cricket)

  • why isnt he out? didnt the fielder technically catch the ball? just curious, would appreciate it if someone explained it to me

  • No he isnt out because the fielder, technically, didn't catch the ball but got the ball from the helmet; thats like getting the ball from the field. A catch would be if the ball on the helmet drops down, and say someone catches it.

  • the minute the ball came to rest in a piece of equipment on the batsman's clothing, it becomes a dead ball. The same rule applies if the ball (as is more common) comes to rest at the front of the batsman's knee behind the pad. Dead ball means the play has ceased, no wicket can be taken after the declaration of dead ball.

  • oh alright thanks, makes sense. I thought that the fielder got to the ball before it hit the ground so it would be out

    thanks

  • No, even if it sticks in a fielders' helmet, it's not out. Interestingly, Ed Joyce, occasional england batsman got out last week in the domestic competition by smacking the ball straight into short leg's pocket.

  • I once got my helmet stuck into a defensive linesman's helmet in a similar incident dirung a football game.

  • Errrrrrr, GAY!!!

  • i wonder if u can run on that, or even take it out and it can be a catch .....

  • Headshot! ftw

  • hey jawed u must know one thing everyone is not cheater like pakistanis !~!~~! hahahahaahh

  • maan ki kuss teri saley harami kaley bandar indian hindu hanuman ki ulaad

  • Not that funny, only a bit, b.t.w- what ever the guys name is trying to act clever telling the batsman some giberish should learn to speak properly.

  • Let the ball stay there and RUN those 400 runs! DAMNIT!

  • omdaizz man!

    dat made me laugh proper!

  • @jawedib LMAO at your comment....hahahahaha, imagine after the first hundred, they'd be knackered...hahahaha

  • @jawedib hahaha

    excellent comment bro!!!

made me laugh for a good 30 seconds (I don't laugh too long :D)

  • @jawedib hahaha

  • not really. it's not a catch because the rules state that if the ball gets stuck in the batsman's equipment, it's a dead ball

hence, no runs nor wicket (except run out)

  • had his grill been any lower and there would have been alot of blood from the broken nose lol

  • where did the ball go?

  • Techinically, could he have ran???

  • LMAO that'd be like rugby because all the fielders would've pounced on the batsmen to get the ball

  • thats happened to me before...

  • "Is dat keeping ur eyes on the ball??" gr8 commentry!!

  • is this a catch?

  • yes but good sportsmanship from the windies to let it slide...

  • no coz it hit his arm

  • I like Sarwan's reaction (it is Sarwan in the bandana at short leg, right?) Lol.

  • That was really funny. Why some guys are talking nonsense about this?

  • lol

  • THE BALL WAS DEADD!!!

  • its not a dead ball.....

  • then fuckoff and go play your football.

a team of retards all chasing a ball around when they could all just go out and buy their own.

    shutup.

    dickhead.

  • So is your dad in bed

  • Nobody fucked anyone's ass here, so why this is gay? Could you please explain.

  • if it is a dead ball yoy cant run u dicks

  • Very Funny ... Is that keeping your eye on the ball... LOL

  • Its a Catch. . .

  • that is cricket comedy at its finest

  • Its a dead ball so not out you morons :)

  • its out

  • he shouldve run LOL!!

  • LOL.. yes.. he cudhave continued running with the whole team behind him trying to stop!

  • lolllllll

  • If its a dead ball then he cant but he should have gone for a run

  • very funny

  • This could/shouldn't be out because if it gets stuck in a batsmans helemt then it becomes a dead ball.

  • He is ASIM KAMAL guys.

  • He should have appealed for a catch, The ball touched the gloves and stuck on helmet, didnt touched ground. I think its a clear out.
