  • i hate the ads! Lose the adds!

  • "race neutral"??? As President, he represents us all, not just you.

  • The black man in this video is a racist.

  • The police around the RNC convention just busted into peoples homes last night, Aug. 30 with SWAT teams and arrested people who they just thought might protest. Arresting folks, stealing computers, journals, laptops, and the convention hasn't begun. Granted the DNC is not perfect, and there were about 141 arrests during the convention. But you can start counting the RNC arrests already. Believe me, if you don't vote to put Obama in and keep McCain and cronies out of office we are all doomed.

  • It's a typo.

    Are you that stupid?

  • What's a "Denention" Center?

  • LOVE, now that said please wake up , its not to late YET ,but soon it will be , wake up america and stand united and force a return of our freedom

  • let's hope it keeps raining throughout the convention

  • racism = fear, you weak lame ass

  • Denver protest media blackout.

    nader paul kucinich gravel

    mckinney ventura too

    perot charts

    RATM

  • more crack in denver then snowflakes in winter? sorry my old son... the dealers are gearing up for the republican convention...(the BEST time of the election year for them)

  • There wont be any change,no nothing will change. Here is why. The people of this once great nation think that all they have to do to solve the crisis they endure is to vote for something that claims change. Job done! That was a close one. Now lets all just go back to sleep and expect "it" to take care of itself. No nothing will change. The sheeple don't have the courage to force change. They feel they have done their part to conclude a solution. Wake up America, we're running out of time. Peace

  • I'd like to speak in defense of the caged free speech area: I think the dirty word that motivates this level of security is "assassin". The Obama campaign has not disclosed the number of death threats he has received, but I would be surprised if it was anything less than a lot.

Let's all try to be patient under these circumstances - but I do admit that a secret detention center seems rather odd... why not just detain dissidents in a local jail?

  • "full-frontal"

    XD

  • not secret... not a detention center...

  • this is so dumb - These protesters are funded by the right wing - they are agents for the gov organization - its a shame that we will sacrifice our own people to create havic - these idiots dont even have a platform or valid opinions - some of the guys want to relive the 60s and others are right wing plants - This is the truth! They phoneys and fake.

The Denver Police are absolutely correct to have facilities for these nuts - I am African American and believe in responding to valid causes -

  • They should put most of the demothieves in the lock-up before anyone else! Bill'suckitbitch' Clinton and Thighllary had Ben Foster killed, Rose Law Firm documents mysteriously reappear in the white house, perjury, Billy boy's rape of Juanita Broadderick in '78, and on and on!

  • What's that darky talkin' about, ask permission? It will improve the look of the neighborhood if any thing! It will be like a home away from home!

  • Obama is a FUCKING FAKE creep who works for BUSH!

ANY SUCKER who trusts OBAMA (who is cousin of Cheney + Bush) purely based on JUST seeing his colour is HEADING for a BAD fall.

It is also racist to vote PURELY on colour + racists ARE STUPID.

  • I agree somewhat - you do make some valid points.

  • thanks

  • You PAY to die if you pay tax.

    DO NOT PAY INCOME TAX

  • I think Ghandi had the right idea. Nothing beneficial will be done until people stop working. The only thing that will piss off an elitist is if his companies go under.

  • These camps are everywhere..... for all of you who still fail to see that please search "FEMA" then you tell me if this is a precaution or a plan of action. Arm yourself s, and don't let them take you and your family's.

  • I'm not part of the whole "9/11 inside job" conspiracy crowd, I'm just unhappy that the Secret Service seems to have taken a Blackwater-like zealotry towards protecting the political process from the citizenry which it supposedly serves. Why you need a 2 mile perimeter around a convention to thwart protesters armed with signs and vocal cords, I mean, arrest people with rocket launchers, but let the people peaceably assemble. This really is a blot on american politics.

  • wow...this video was full of pessimists...just my opinion.

The secret detention facility is wrong though. This may be a local authorities thing and have nothing to do w/ the DNC itself.

They should have the mayor in the wringer for this.

  • I don't think that there is anything wrong with being prepared for the worst. What if there was a big riot; but they weren't prepared to house the arrestee's? Imagine the protest that that would cause.

  • It's not until you are FULLY locked into a police state will you realize what the global elite have planed for you. It is so clear for intelligent people to see what is taking place due to the false flag attack your government has brought apon you, yet you fools in america fail to smell the shit that is right under your nose. 9/11 was an inside job used to kill many birds with one stone. They are in Iraq taking oil because of 9/11 and you have lost MANY constitutional rights because of 9/11.

  • democracy is an everyday thing, not a once every four year process. right on! vote nader

  • This detention center is really horrible. My god i am speechless and maybe the DNC would rather keep me that way. To bad for them though i am going to tell everyone.

  • The goal of an organization called "ReCreate '68" is to get its members arrested...to prove a point.

And then they express shock and dismay that the City of Denver is making plans to handle the people "ReCreate '68" want to be arrested.

    Assclowns.

  • This is a tough one. If there is not enough room to house arrestees the police will become busy with trying to arrange safe detention and not be able to effectively respond to other unrelated emergencies such as robberies or domestic violence calls. Having a detention area is not a bad idea as long as there is careful oversight and supervision. Video should be kept to document any wrongdoing by police or aresstees.

  • Obama should oppose this detention center. But he won't.

  • A realistic view? Is that not everything is a conspiracy and the laws are there for a reason. If you do not like them or agree with the,? Write you reps and get them changed. Stop making it all one huge conspiracy and get a grip.

  • dont act like dumb asses and you wont get locked up. they do it in new orleans durring mardi gras. i see nothing wrong with booking centers

  • It looks to me, that if they hadn't held a news conference, the police would have had the "mass showers" installed...

  • So unfortunate that the Democrats don't practice what they preach. They complained that Bush suppressed protestors. Looks like they do the same thing.

  • I don't think the founders protected the write to assembly so demonstrators could be corralled in to a free speech zone tucked away where they aren't bothering anyone.

When the crowd grows large enough the police can't "control" them... that was Um you know intentional....

  • You people need to know that those are preparations for perhaps civil war @ the DNC because apparently our your next president is AL GORE the compromise candidate at this years National Convention!

    laugh now !!!

  • wonder how many people will be beaten or tasered or pepper sprayed or shot with rubber bullets etc just for speaking freely.

  • Welcome to Amerika... land of the "free" and home of the caged.

  • If they want a Revolution, they and everyone should hit the polls this November....if we have a 90% turnout of voters, that sends a LOUD message to our elected officials!....use the system to have your Revolution...VOTE!

  • You haven't been paying attention.

  • Radiohead 2+2=5

  • The Second American Revolution

  • the black argument is a joke. obama shows his white family because that was who raised him. that argument is silly. He shows his own family (black wife & kids) daily. He's accused of discussing race too much or not enough. ridiculous.

Let protesters protest. As long as they are doing it legally & with respect. Some have valid points, some are yelling with full out stupidity, but all should have their voice heard without fear of detention.

please don't martyr the dumb ones. that's their mo.

  • FEMA camps are real you know the conspiracy nut Alex Jones? He's been saying they use industrial parks for private detention centers for years once again he's proven right.

  • Free speech zones are there only for an illusion of your freedoms. (Or as George Carlin might put it, just a way to jerk you off.) It is the same mirage China instigated for the Olympics. China, trying to impress the world with its 'freedoms' setup free speech zones as well, far away from any olympic site. Also, any participant of a free speech zone had to go to the authorities to discuss what they would be doing/saying in the zones. If free-speech is limited to a box, what good is it?

  • Let me get this straight, these guys are in a group called "ReCreate '68" but they're shocked that the police actually plan to arrest people?

    Are you complete idiots?

Instead of "ReCreate '68", why not think of something original and innovative, instead 'we want to do what they did 40 years ago, because we have no vision.'

Only morons are trying recreate something from 40 years ago, getting their jollies by sleuthing out where the 'secret detention center' is. Embarassing.

  • I like how you have contempt for the protesters yet the idea of a secret detention center in a industrial park doesn't bother you at all.

Like our government needs more people sticking up for it.

    Shill.

  • I'm not sticking up for detention, I'm pointing out that these people are so desperate to be part of some epic violation of their rights that they are declaring how oppressed they are weeks before anything happens. Calling these centers "secret" is false, merely to sensationalize.

Calling themselves ReCreate '68 -- they're basically saying they would love to be part of some televised violent action. How can you take people like that seriously? It's demeaning to sincere protestors.

  • Great comment. I agree that the signs are there but often a sign doesn't mean storm. Dark clouds may just be clouds.

  • Why does Larry Hales keep referring to Barack Obama as a black man? He does know that his mother is white, right? The social construct of race would define Obama as being of both black and white race, wouldn't it? All this is moot when one considers the fact that there is only one race amongst people, that being the human race.

  • Scratch that first comment I made. I just listened to the rest of what Larry said and he does mention knowing that Obama has black and white roots. I'm still concerned about Larry's perceived desire to see Obama use the race card. He wants to hear Obama speak about the injustice that his family on his father's side would have faced due to the color of their skin? Has Larry never considered the possibility that white people have been persecuted through history as well?

  • Free Speech Zone LOL!

  • Its funny how they call this system "Capitalist system, by the twin parties". This type of capitalism is actually state-sponsored corporatism. I agree the parties are twins. But this system hates competition and corporations will look to the government to ensure they are in lock step to creating policy. This is NOT a capitalist society where free market reigns. He is right that Obama has been bought off by this corporate welfare-warfare state. Its socialism on steroids vs. corporate socialism.

  • its as a Real News analyst put it "Socialism for the rich, and Capitalism for the poor".

  • Just make sure Bush doesn't try for a third term using his crisis creation endgame!

  • Great video!

  • There is going to have to be a 10 million man march on washington to get the changes we need to turn this country around.

The top politicians are CHEATING, SWINDLING, and RAPING the American people!

  • Inserting "Trouble makers and violent protesters into the actual peaceful/LAWFUL/constitutionaly protected mass of protesters is an OLD tried and true tactic the police/government will use in Denver. Guaranteed!!

  • maybe we should get rid of this gang called the government who send men with guns to hurt you whenever you dont do what they want.

  • No change to be seen here. Move along.

  • I expect to see huge riots between anti goverment protesters and the satanic gestapo storm troopers of the New World Order. many will be wrongly arrested and thrown into the illuminati detention center.

  • bring cameras, get lawyers,

    we'll mack you fames

  • LOL,Im confused....is this a anti-DNC Detainment Center protest, an anti-Democratic Party protest or a anti-government protest?and what exactly are they trying to accomplish here?

If people choose to become violent and belligerant at the convention they deserve to be detained.

  • It's detention center for the anti-government protesters. So Basically everyone with a brain.

  • Everday the kooky conspiracy people are looking less kooky. Fascism is on the march.

  • The last point I want to make is mainly for the nitiwt in dreds. If he would do a bit of research he will know Obama is for everyone including those in the African American community. We as a community need to stop with the "us and them". Obama is running for president of the united states not the african american community. When he says he wants a better america and gives examples of that he means everyone, included african americans. Lets stop with the two deminsional old way of thinking.

  • Demoplicans and Republicrates are no different. McCain and Obama are tied 44% each. The real question is: Who are the 12% supporting. Clearly folks are waking up to the One-Party system we have. That system is for intervetionism, war, supporting poorly run businesses, taxing folks to support the aforementioned, abolishing the sovereinty of the US,and many more collectivist totalitarian positions.

  • Woo hooo! Free speech zones, detention centers, enhanced interogation, up is down, Good is bad, Orwell is right.

  • I'd love to know where the detention center in Minneapolis is located. I wonder if FEMA funded this center? Anyone know?

  • Detention*, you might want to fix the title of this video. not "Denention". But anyways this was a good video.

  • They are right to protest, and you proud liberals who are worried about losing to McCain are sheeple. There will be no real difference between the two offered candidates other than rhetoric, just look at what Pelosi has done. Wake Up and quit letting them divide us.

  • Tell 'em how it is!

  • These kinds of actions are gonna kill Obama's campaign.

  • If we're lucky.

  • No need to protest get a life and get educated about our country and what republicans have done to our country the last 8 years.

  • Open the presidential debates. Google "The Commission on Presidential Debates."

YOU "get educated about our country"..

  • what? your statement made little sense.

  • Yes, Republicans have ruined the country, no argument there from me, but Obama is doing something awful by continuing the FREE SPEECH ZONES policy. I'm still voting for Obama, but people have to get on him to keep focussed on what is important.

  • THANKS for posting this.

While I am voting for Obama, I am well aware of how limited his power to do any good will be and how he and anybody who gets a nomination from either of the two major parties is severely compromised. Nobody gets a nomination unless it has been APPROVED.

  • I've been a proud liberal my whole life, but these well intentioned protesters only help Republicans get elected.

  • Yeah The Terroist beat the USA.

  • George Bush began the covert takeover of the United States in 1991. At the very least his ineptitude allowed the WTC to be hit by airplanes; and that is assuming it wasn't orchestrated by his administration.

That they would see the need for a huge place for what essentially are dissenters is absurd.

  • I can see where you're coming from but the first Bush wasn't that bad. The sad thing is if you do research on the Bush's you will find that Jeb Bush was the son the family wanted to become president not George Jr. Jr was better at the political game than his brother.

  • im all for free speech, but i swear i believe some people protest for the sake of protesting. Its like if we were all in heaven there would be people walking around protesting about something.i guess i just want to hear some legitimatized arguments instead of knit picking.

  • The point of this video is that any arguments, legitimate or otherwise, won't be heard because protesting is only allowed in limited places. It isn't for anybody to decide whether somebody else's argument is legitimate enough to be allowed to be heard. A protest should be allowed whether it is for a good reason or total bullshit. If you don't like what the protest is about, you are free to ignore it.

  • thanks.....and i will.

  • I think this issue is taken waaayyy out of control. When you have a big event such as this it is responsible to have police and or security on site for more efficiency. If the stuff were to hit the fan i would prefere the police be there in site to handle it and defuse it. There might be some aspects to their onsite center, but all in all for something liek this where you kow people are goiing to be showing up to prtest whatever greveince you need to have something onsite.

  • Police should only be there to prevent any violence from breaking out. Having an approved site to protest, where any other site is not legal, that is WRONG.

  • That is what they are doing, setting up certain areas where protesters can be is nothing new and it isn't not against the law it's used to minimize danger and possible danger. You still have the right to speak your greivence is, no one is stopping that. You have to keep in mind there are people going to the convention to cause harm and be disruptive so they have to keep everyone safe. if setting up areas for certain things is how they want to do it fine. Bring a blow horn if you want to be heard

  • It IS something new. This wasn't happening before George Bush. I do not agree with you at all. Police should be there to prevent anybody from causing violence or to stop it immediately, but having FREE SPEECH ZONES will only marginalize anybody from being heard by forcing them in a removed location, and that is just wrong. It is also ILLEGAL.

  • Dah!! It's apparent that you don't agree with me and that is fine...Free speech right? Do you even know what exactly it is your protesting? And it is not illegal for the police to set up zones for activity. if it is point me to the law that says so. Cause they do it all the time for various different things no just protest...so go on....do your research and look that law up that specificaly says it is illegal to do that.

  • HERE IS YOR LAW, the first ammendment to the constitution: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. IT IS PLAIN, YOU CANNOT ABRIDGE (MEANING DIMINISH, CURTAIL) FREEDOM OF SPEECH OR THE RIGHT OF PEOPLE TO PEACEABLY ASSEMBLE AND PETITION THE GOVERNMENT.

  • OOPS, "YOUR" LAW. There must be lawyers challenging this FREE SPEECH ZONE policy as it is clearly illegal. Also, I'm not going there and I am not protesting, that is NOT what I am talking about. Why did you even ask that? That isn't the point. I am just saying that George Bush started this FREE SPEECH ZONES crap and the Democrats are doing a terrible thing by continuing this policy. I don't know or care why people are protesting the convention. It should be allowed to happen right there.

  • FINALY!! It's not illegal because you are still voicing you greivence. You are not being kept silent. And your going to have to sight that law...what is the law code so that I can do my own search and read it for myself.....as you can see this is becoming fun for me....

  • No, it IS illegal, because there are restrictions on WHERE you are ALLOWED to voice a grievance. The First Ammendment says that the right of people to peaceably assemble to petition the government shall not be ABRIDGED. By restricting the areas where you can assemble, that is an abridgement of that right. I already said this and you ignored it. I guess you are having fun by ignoring the constitution? The first ammendment is the law in question.

  • By the way, I think Dick Cheney and Carl Rove are the worst, most corrupt people to ever run the White House, so I obviously am a Democrat and I am supporting Obama, but he is really pissing me off when he acts like a Republican. This Free Speech Zone crap is one example. Obama should be more fearless and show more conviction.

  • drunk, get used to it - Obama is moving further and further to the right every day!

  • He isn't doing any good by trying to show he is centrist, it just shows no conviction. But he is still a lot better than McCain. McCain dropped any convictions he used to have back in 2000 and he is now nothing more than a Bush yesman.

  • If your not doing anything wrong? You have nothing to fear. just a thought.

  • This is the most ignorant, uninformed stance that an uneducated person can take.

  • LOL Yep. If you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't need your rights. HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • "If your not doing anything wrong? You have nothing to fear"

Unfortunately, this doesn't really happen in the real world. A more realistic interpretation would be: If you're not bothering the people in power, you will probably be ignored.

  • This is the sort of thing that makes democrats lose. We eat our young.

This story jumped the shark when WTO 99 was mentioned. That protest was a joke. It was a bunch of over-privileged rich white kids with designer clothes breaking windows.

Protest is healthy and essential in a free society, but so is being informed about the issues you're protesting against.

  • Heaven forbid someone protest illegal war. Terrorist scum who want us to have reasons to attack people, like us wanting to isn't enough.

Anti-war is a crime. Check out the case of peace activist who it was recently revealed was the object of an ongoing investigation by the Maryland State Police Dept. Despite doing nothing wrong, he was nevertheless placed on the Terrorist Watch List.

How about we put the candidates and delegates from both conventions in the parking lot cages?

  • You've got to figure after the Bush Admin was a central player in the 911 attacks, they had to figure out a way to protect themselves. The best way to do this without gunning people down would be detention centers. They keep pointin at other people as being worse, but not really. They are the worst. Part illuminati part nazi. Profoundly perverse power players. the PPPPers. The good news is they are still scared of a homeland uprising that will rip their dumb asses right out of their offices.

  • Hitler did this kind of thing too.

  • Denention centers?

  • It's like a lay-over on the way to the ovens

  • We're a republic, not a democracy. Just saying.

  • yep, cheeseaura, you are correct. Now, look up the definition of a republic:

"A political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible to them."

    So what is your point?

  • No, we are not a democracy. Not in the least. I know I didn't vote on the Iraq war or the PATRIOT act. In a Democracy I would be able to. Calling someone an "idiot" doesn't make your point any strong either. Just saying, have some courtesy.

  • there's so much wrong in this statement I don't know where to begin.

All of the founding fathers termed our form of government a 'Republic' not a democracy. the latter can lead to mob rule something the founders had hoped would. over time become a thing of the past. It is important to remember that it is the responsibility of the majority to protect the rights and liberties of the minority... NOT the other way around.

Study your history before making dumb statements.

    Peace to you

  • We are a Republic. Research your laws and history. You will hear on the corporate media that we are losing our democracy but we are really losing is the democracy within our republic process. Essentially losing our Republic.

  • Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

  • ALL THOSE GOING TO DENVER, BRING YOUR CAMERAS.

Record everything you can, and post it to YouTube if you get the chance.

  • We better get speaking up real load now everybody before its too late!

  • Freedom of speech is dead.

  • Looks like a concentration camp...WTF is this shit?

  • I can't believe their calling a fenced area away from the DNC, a "freedom zone".
