If it had japanese audio and english subtitles, then it would still be called Rurouni Kenshin "るろうに剣心" when they dubbed it released it in the US/UK they changed the name to Samurai X. You can still see the original title of "Rurouni Kenshin" even in the beginning of this episode at 1:31.

This is not a prequel. "Samurai X" and "Rurouni Kenshin" are synonyms for the same thing. Sagara94 is right, in japan you can find it under both names.
