Although AOE2 is just as good.

AOE3, while not as good, is still far better than many games.

It's fundamentally the same game as Aoe2 except with more units and a bigger difference between civs? The only thing it really lacks is gates and rally points compared to 2. Otherwise, It's better and has much more to offer in terms of gameplay because all the civs require different strategies.

(well, apart from mass priests. That you can do with everyone)

This song sort of reminds me of the trebuchets and the onagers on the move, ready to conquer the enemy's city. Not sure if that's what is meant by "devil's machine", but it's a guess.

This is my favourite part of the age of empires music. and 0:58 to 2:00 is the best part of that. AoE2 music is great on the train.
