I completely agree. It's actually my favorite movie too! I loved the sequel 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer' - I thought that was great. But, unfortunately, the third film was a letdown: I was expecting good things from the third movie but it really let me down.

It's a shame that this movie doesn't get the recognition that it deserves. It's a classic 90's teen horror flick. For some reason, people view this movie as a "Scream" copycat. But, other than the fact that Kevin Williamson was the screenwriter for both movies, there's really no comparison between the two. The plot and tone is totally different from "Scream". "I Know What You Did Last Summer" has a much darker, more morbid tone to it whereas "Scream" has a much lighter feel.

well this seems nothing like the book! not even gonna watch the trailer! in the book they kill a little boy on a bike, then a year later, ray has moved to cali, helen dropped out and went on the news channel, and julie gets the letter. barry gets shot but doesnt die, and then the cops take away the person who tries killing them! Helen never dies but jumps from a window, and julie almost gets killed but ray never gets harmed other than julie almost dying! nothing like the book!

But Helen really went through a lot to get away, and it took the killer like 10 minutes to finally catch her. And after she jumps out the window and still runs for it, there's this sad violin music which really makes you realize how far this poor girl is going to get away. It's actually really sad that she died. :(
