  • hi five!

  • I had no idea that Washburn had been around that long. Learn something new every day. O.K., maybe once a month.

  • Is this really an 1890s guitar? The finish and the fingerboard look hardly used!Sounds great though!

  • Yes, virtually unplayed. Not many around in that condition.

  • I absolutely love Washburn as a guitar brand, their pricing is often so much better than other brands and I like the feel and sound of the guitars better.

Have you played any of the reissues Washburn has made based on guitars like these?

  • I tried the replica version of this guitar. Wasn't at all impressed. Woods were a lot thicker, bracing different, layers of laquer, much heavier etc. Looked great but not a remote patch on the original in both build and sound.

  • Sweet guitar, great singing too. About 1 year ago I started to build guitars and made a couple classicals, but I must hack together one of these bluesy parlors too! Do you know anything on the bracing of this one? ladder or X ? Thanks!

  • oops, wrong window comment, no singing here. But this guitar sounds great too! :D

  • Hi Alex, X Braced.

  • Thanks!

May I ask, how do you mix the audio source with the video? I am trying to mix my photo camera vids with a condenser...

  • Play it live to camera with one mic, then transfer to computer editing programme balance and mix till happy.

  • Short but very nice sounding. I've heard guitars sound better with age.

  • some guitars do sound better with age, especially if they are in good condition.

  • Guitars sound better with age, and not getting involving IN a campfire and not getting ran over by a bus is a big benefit to their condition.

  • are you using any special tunings?

  • No, just normal EADGBE

    Paul

  • ps: on this recording, the guitar is down a around semi tone in pitch from concert.

  • lovely...thank you
